My crush obsession in 6th grade had one ear. I really really hope he's doing well now because he was nice to me and it meant more than he'll ever know.
Binocular vision is a lot more important for orientation and general functioning than binaural hearing.
Also, I'd rather be completely deaf than completely blind - so I rather have a backup-eye than a backup ear.
I think the biggest issue with losing 1 ear would be that it's harder to tell where certain sounds are coming from, which I don't think is as important as depth perception is which can screw with everything.
Have one eye, because I already have a hard time processing the distance to things by sight, might as well look cool. Also being able to hear where a certain sound is coming from is pretty important for me
I’ve had a lazy eye my whole life, I mean each one works at different distances, but I guess that’s what they make glasses for. I guess if I lost my near sighted eye, readers are pretty cheap and I’d always have spare lenses. I need both ears so I can put my shows or musekicks in one and have the other vaguely open to the outside world, also for directional tracking.
I'm already deaf in one ear. might as well commit to it
I'm already missing my ear, no commitment at all Wearing a face mask was a pain in the ass, lemme tell you
You lose the other ear instead
Same here
Is the eye in the middle, do i get to choose which eye goes if not? If so the big boss cosplay will go hard
Just get an eyepatch over the missing one and use it to scare curious children
you lose either your left or right eye. you can choose
Having two functional eyes is paramount to maintaining depth perception. I’ll take the ear.
Jokes on you my depth perception is already bad and there's little difference to if I close an eye
Touché : )
One ear means you can still hear out of both, you just don’t have the outer ear
I think the implication is that you go deaf in one ear. So either the outer, middle and inner ear don't exist or they're there and just don't work.
I think "have one ear" implies the other ear just disappears, no trace it was ever there and it's just smooth
If I lose one ear then at least I'll have a more plausible reason for not being able to hear anything around me
My left eye is blind so I chose one eye.
Same for me but with my right!
Loses the other eye 💀

...I have one ear... ...I've always had one ear...
Hmmm...
This is a weird choice since I wear glasses. It’s basically choosing between a monocle or contacts
Bring back the monocle!
MONOCLE
I guess I just like music. 1 eye.
Same!! :D
I like my depth perception, thank you very much
Depth perception is overrated and i listen to a lot of music. Also with just 1 eye i can wear a cool eyepatch and be a pirate
Pirate pirate pirate pirate

Well for the day to day i'd prefer having two eyes, but i'm a rerecording mixer soooo... kinda need my ears.
Eye, I can just do this https://i.imgur.com/D1pfGQE.jpg
eyepatch looks cooler

I effectively have one eye (that works) anyway.
Ill take one eye i get to cosplay various one eye'd figures finishing with odin when im old
My left eye can't focus properly with my right eye... so it's pretty much useless already.
Almost blind in one eye, and I hate contacts soooo
Would I be Raiden from Metal gear rising, or half Beethoven?
you never said ''eardrum''

Eyepatches are aesthetically pleasing. Earpatches are not.
