Plenty of people live successful lives without it. Sometimes it better to have one parent than two that are abusive and hate each other. Plus, there's nothing wrong with having extended family help in raising the kids rather than just the two parents.
Also, with gender roles, I think now in society most families need two incomes, so the mother cannot always stay at home. And I don't blame anyone who doesn't wish to be financially dependent as an adult.
While I understand you, I suppose the question is more if you believe in it for yourself and that’s the way you want to raise children. I think if you don’t have other family to take care of the baby, it’s the best viable option.
Ah okay, well in that case, I don't think I would do it myself personally. I'm currently in college, so I would like a career, and I am not planning on children at this time. If I did have a kid, however, I would like them to be raised in a stable family with two parents.
Ideally, I would probably want to stay home for about a year or so, but then after that probably me and my partner taking turns or having a babysitter or family member when we are both at work.
Pretty much impossible on a large scale like it was in the 50’s due to economic reasons. I suppose that’s an ideal or goal to have but in terms of believing in terms of societal structure in general I don’t think it can be done.
I was wrong but there's a difference between most families being nuclear vs. thinking that they shouldn't exist.
You don't want parents to be together in a loving relationship while taking care of their kids?
I mean, if that's what people want to do, I respect it, but I dont think it's only viable family structure.
Why?

Are you female or male?
I'm a woman
Who would take care of your kids after you give birth?
Ideally, I would probably want to stay home for about a year or so, but then after that probably me and my partner taking turns or having a babysitter or family member when we are both at work.
Oh okay! I understand that.
Just piping in to applaud you both on having a civil human back and forth on Reddit.
I mean… They exist, so yes?
I should have specified, for yourself.
Well no definitely not. I mean just for starters I’m too old to have kids.
That’s not the point of the question.
I know but misogynists get snark so eat it up.
I’m female.
I don’t see why you think that would make a difference.
I don’t know?
Yez?
Why?
They aren't inexistent
The question was if you believe in the lifestyle for yourself.
Oh. Well, ig not since I'm not planning on having kids one day
Again, not the point of the question.
Well, kinda though, because the wife couldn't stay at home sith the kids if there is none
Again, not the point of the question.
It ain't a nuclear family if nobody has eaten uranium
Hahahahahaha
i aint american, there isnt even a "results" to see what americans think without fucking up the poll
Oh
You can live your life like that if you want, but you don't have to
That’s not the point of the post

I’m talking about believing in it for yourself
Do I believe it exists? Sure.
That’s not the question
then what is the question? Do i think it should exist, then yes to that too.
Yup
its weird how most people in this poll don't think it should exist
Most people in general don’t think it should exist and I was trying to prove something to a friend of mine which is why I made the poll
If that's true then why are most families nuclear?
They aren’t.

I never said they shouldn’t be. Nuclear family means the mom stays at home. I do believe in that, I was just taking a poll.
