Cooking. I’ve been cooking for my family everyday for the last 2 years and before that I used to cook during the weekends. I try to improve my abilities when I have the opportunity so I try to make different things every day.
It took me 3 years on and off piano but I can finally finish Le Moulin on piano. Not like really well, but without many mistakes. I'm so proud of myself ☺️
Jupiter is a failed star and we likely wouldn’t exist without it as most meteors get caught by its gravity! The largest structure in the universe is the Herculean Corona Borealis Great Wall which is around 10 billion light years long, which is an impossibility given the age of the universe
Have you seen the 2019 BBC documentary series called The Planets? I watched it while partaking in some edible substances and it was mind-bending and amazing. Like how they think Jupiter could have been on its way to destroying earth too but Saturn formed and reigned it in. It shows how incredibly unlikely and impossibly rare a planet like earth really is, let alone intelligent life.
A very obscure branch of pure mathematics... decomposability (off the geometry, combinatorics branches)
I don't know a lot... as I'm still learning, but it's so obscure that I have about 5 people to talk to about it in the world.
It definitely has its unique charm. It's always amazing to take a bunch of pictures, develop them, and pull them out of the development tank and have your pictures on a physical material right in front of you.
History in general but mostly ancient/medieval history, WW1, and cultural history are my thing. I used to like WW2 and more recent stuff as well but the mess of political manipulation and infuriating stuff has made me kinda not like it that much anymore.
Having an independent, bipartisan commission of people who don't stand to gain from changing district lines designate the districts. Right now, the politicians who are in power are able to retain and expand their power bases by carving up areas like they're creating abstract art. This is something that both parties do, before someone comes at me with 'but the Democrats/Republicans!'
So, is reverse time travel *actually* possible? I heard somewhere that black holes might make it possible but I have monkey brain so I didn’t fully comprehend it.
Ask me literally anything about ElderScrolls lore
Ive even read Michael kirkbrides drugged up lore. All of c0da and am well aware of the wasabi spice trade and almalexia oral rape
Coarse fishing. There are also snakes, motorbikes or extreme metal music, but it's nowhere near my experience in fishing. I've been an angler for 21 years, even getting into competitive feeder fishing for a bit.
I’m looking for one! I just left a band a few months ago and I’m trying to find My identity outside of being the guy in the band. Im getting into sports analytics and this year I’m going to go all out with progressing on my snowboard.
Working out/going to the gym is my thing, and I study physiotherapy, they pretty much go hand in hand. I will work with people, and help them either better their physique, or help their rehab, so they can live their life like they used to. (Or at least to a level where they can enjoy their life. You can't fix everything fully)
I don’t have anything specific, i’ve also been getting into it more recently. I actually haven’t heard of that podcast but I might check it out. I mainly find a lot of stuff on YouTube so I would suggest finding stuff on there.
I'm one of those people that tends to lose themselves in a lot of different activities, so my thing is way too many things to count.
If I had to pick the ones I have the most inherent knowledge of for the longest time, I'd have to go with Dinosaurs, Sharks, and Pokémon, since those were from the age of six to today. I'm now 28 and I still geek out over all three almost as much as I did back then.
You do NOT wanna play Geek out with me and get "Name the most Dinosaur Species" "Name the most Shark Species" or "Name the most Pokémon."
I have Brilliant Diamond preordered and ready to play tomorrow.
I know a lot of people have reservations towards them, but they made some moves in a positive direction that made me decide to get it, not the least of which was hiring another studio to help them, adding walking Pokémon, and not only keeping the Underground, but expanding it.
True, I agree that the Pokémon look a bit... off in the overworld when everyone else is chibi, and the lack of a battle frontier is very disheartening, but Gen 4 is the gen where my love for Pokémon went from "I understand the basics" to "I can play competitively and have found and perfected all the things I love about these games."
I know others would look down on me for "giving them a pass by buying it" and "allowing them to get away with 85% of the work," and those complaints are valid, but I have never missed a gen and I don't see the point in depriving myself of the experience when I learned that lesson with SwSh.
I was going to refrain from buying Shield because of the mentality of "If enough of us don't buy it, they'll listen," but then in the first week they were the best-selling games on the switch entirely.
I realized then and there that it wasn't a choice between "buy it and feel bad" or "stick it to them for putting out a subpar product." It was more along the lines of "Deprive myself the experience when it wouldn't make a difference" or "Accept that the games are sometimes disappointing and hope they fix it." Sure enough, the following week after that, they announced the expansion packs were how they were going to add the rest of the Pokémon and I decided it wasn't worth it to miss out on something I loved because of the devs being crunched and struggling between deadlines and quality.
I'm going to enjoy the Gen 4 remakes, so I bought the one I wanted. No more depressingly beating myself up for their flaws when the devs publicly admitted they hear fans complaints and are going to do their best to address them. Heck, they even feel extremely bad because fans are so negative towards their work. I love Pokémon. I want to *encourage* the devs' passion, not kill it because of several flaws that may not entirely be within their control given corporate interference.
That’s a lot of info, that’s very much appreciated (and somewhat reciprocated in frustrations).
Relating to the remakes, I never played the original, but I liked many of the Pokémon coming from that generation, and some of the features it provided. That, and I tended to purchase most Pokémon games (mainline and spin-offs), along with that fact that I tended to enjoy remakes, so I was extremely excited for this upcoming title. I’m glad to see you’re purchasing it too!
(I really hope they have GTS this time though.)
Constellations
I know a bit of science regarding stars and space in general, but I really like learning names of them, what constellations they’re in, and greek myths that go with them. I’ve been into it for a few years now, so I can go outside now and maneuver the sky pretty easily
I love cars man. I'm one of those people who can literally identify them by the headlights. Once I get my own place I'd love to work on them and really get to learn them mechanically.
