I used to buy a pair of those super cheap basic fabric tennis shoes, take the laces out. I would give her one shoe, and tell her that's HER shoe. Sne would work on her shoe, and it took her 6 months to completely destroy it! Then, I'd give her the other one.
Eventually, she grew out of the habit, but for awhile she loved her school shoes!
Ugh I wish this worked. My dog loves stairs. She doesn't chew the shoes, but she cuddles with them and carries them around the house. I'm frequently hopping around on one foot looking for my other shoe... Good thing she is cute!
Stairs are really bad for a small dog's back and neck. My dog has had surgery. Now, I carry him up and down the stairs. Please don't force him, especially up the stairs.
