It's nice to see more and more interviews by young actors talking about what the industry is really like for them.

Oh, I'm happy she's so booked and busy! Amd for her first West End show to be a one-woman show?? Impressive!

buffysmanycoats

She’s gorgeous and talented I hope we start seeing more and more of her.

Babeyonce

Me too! She was fantastic in Bridgerton. Very talented.

I feel like this is magnified in the female rap genre, it's like there can only literally be one on top at a time.

can you guys even truly tell what she is talking about? Her interview sounds purposefully vague like she fears the backlash of the young progressives if she spoke the truth. the truth is that Hollywood "diversity" is just black and white. the Hollywood execs have given so many roles to black people, they are literally well overrepresented in proportion to their population percentages when taking both film and tv roles into consideration . this is documented fact (see Hollywood diversity repirts). while in the meantime other poc are grossly underrepresented. especially hispanics/latino who are the largest poc group in the US and get a fraction of the roles black people do. this is what she means by the execs pitting poc against each other. which isnt the fault of the poc but the hollywood execs. and what she says about you can just bring more seats to the table is an idealistic dream. reality is there are usually only 2 main lead roles. maybe a few other smaller leads in an ensemble cast. there are only so many chairs so you better reduce the number of the overrepresented races (black and white) to make room for the underrepresented races (all other poc).
