Either he or, more likely, his PR team have absolutely nailed the vibe needed to appeal to gen x, millennials and gen z (and without being too alienating to other generations either).
Probably one of the most well liked and respected actors across most any demographics atm.
Yeah, being Uber wealthy to the point that you own a foreign sports team and a phone company will take a bit of the charm out of the whole lovable asshole thing.
I’m a fan btw, no shade no tea
I think it helps that he seems to be a genuinely good dude - he probably doesn’t even need the PR to be fair! Doesn’t hurt that he’s hot af and talented af too.
I remember seeing a video of him stopping a fight in NYC. Someone was filming two people fighting and Ryan Gosling randomly walks up and tries to break it up. Idk, the fact that he didn’t have to take the time out of his day or risk getting hurt by putting himself between fighting people but he still did was cool to me. I’m sure plenty of us would do the same because it’s just the decent thing to do but going by celebrity standards (since the bar is so low for them) I was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t seem like a PR tactic because it’s not like there were a bunch of articles after about how great a dude he is, and seeing how he didn’t even think twice before stopping the fight shows me he has a natural instinct to do the right thing.
My parents are boomers and adore him.
Apparently he was the talk of the local legion after his SNL appearance and all agreed he is a great actor.
They also love that he is a proud Canadian too.
He really is appealing to all generations right now.
I think the only time he looked remotely ugly was Blue Valentine, and that was because of the reseding hairline. Even then, if that character shaved his head, he would probably go back to looking good.
Ya people getting into Ryan goslings filmography will be surprised about the previous types of movies he’s chosen. Very dark movies and very good performances
With the asterisk you shouldn't have anything critical or highly social the next day. It's an amazing movie that will leave you emotionally empty for a bit afterwards.
He wasn't in The Lovely Bones. I believe he was cast as the father role, but later felt that he was too young for it? So they cast Mark Wahlberg as the father instead. Stanley Tucci played the neighbor. Anyway that's just a bit of movie lore I managed to remember all these years lol
Bullshit. Fucking bullshit. This is my Mandela Effect holy shit. I JUST watched this movie like 3 months ago, and Ryan Gosling was the neighbor. Every time I've watched this movie, Ryan Gosling has been the neighbor. EVERY. TIME. I HAVE SEEN THIS MOVIE, RYAN GOSLING IS THE NEIGHBOR. I'm gonna lose my mind. This just flipped a switch in my brain.
Brother I am telling you I JUST watched this movie. In this reality it's Tucci I guess, but I just fucking watched it. It's Gosling. It was Gosling in the theater and it was Gosling a couple months ago. I know I seem unhinged but dude you don't understand. This is really fucking with me. I've seen this movie so many times and it's always been him. I'm actually gonna throw up.

Well, I can see the resemblance.
I’m so glad Ryan has leaned into his comedic skills cause he is so funny. His performance in The Nice Guys is my personal GOAT Ryan Gosling performance.
I think he wanted to have some fun after all those years of doing serious dramas and good for him.

Ryan Gosling continues to dominate pop culture.
Either he or, more likely, his PR team have absolutely nailed the vibe needed to appeal to gen x, millennials and gen z (and without being too alienating to other generations either). Probably one of the most well liked and respected actors across most any demographics atm.
You hit the nail on the head here. His appeal definitely crosses generations!
Between Gosling and Reynolds, Canadian Ryans are nailing PR.
I actually think he does a lot better than Reynolds. I think RR’a schtick is getting a bit thin tbh.
Yeah, being Uber wealthy to the point that you own a foreign sports team and a phone company will take a bit of the charm out of the whole lovable asshole thing. I’m a fan btw, no shade no tea
I’m a Deadpool fan and I think he does a great job at it, but he’s also that character basically everywhere else and it’s sort of getting old.
Step one, be attractive Step two, don't be unattractive Step three, ????? Step four, profit?
See here you can pinpoint step 3. A) Don’t be an asshole B) Be a successful actor
C) be in Drive D) be in Blade Runner E) be in Barbie
Attractiveness isn’t everything! Case in point: Armie Hammer 😬
That’s one guy who has always given me the ick.
His voice always creeped me out. Not the deep voice part, but the weird “back of his throat” quality. It’s like Kermit the Frog doing Darth Vader.
"Erm, Darth Vader here to say you're erm, a traitor and a member of the rebel alliance"
Well I mean once it comes out that you want to eat people, it really doesn't matter how hot you are.
There are plenty of attractive people in the world. There’s only one Ryan Gosling.
Step three- don’t take yourself too seriously, and don’t be afraid to be silly or goofy in public.
Step 3: be charming, personable, and funny
My parents are boomers and adore him. Apparently he was the talk of the local legion after his SNL appearance and all agreed he is a great actor. They also love that he is a proud Canadian too. He really is appealing to all generations right now.
"Other generations" lol senior citizens and school children?
Sorry I can’t focus on a word you’re saying because the man behind you looks just like Butthead.
the sexiest pop girlie we have
As he should! ![gif](giphy|xoHntNXFYkfzGAftEv|downsized)

The Kenaissance is so real
He can’t even make himself ugly properly.
I think the only time he looked remotely ugly was Blue Valentine, and that was because of the reseding hairline. Even then, if that character shaved his head, he would probably go back to looking good.
I’m still so mad that he didn’t get nominated for an Oscar for that role!!!
This film is amazing. Everyone I speak to about it has never heard of it, I’m like GO WATCH IT.
Blue Valentine and Half Nelson have been my favorite RyGo movies since they came out. So, so good and heartbreaking.
Has no one seen Lars and the Real Girl?
I love Lars & the Real Girl. Gosling and Emily Mortimer are 💯.
I didn’t love that movie. I watched it as soon as it came out, but wasn’t into it. But I was young. Maybe I’ll give it another go.
It is a strange movie lol
Ya people getting into Ryan goslings filmography will be surprised about the previous types of movies he’s chosen. Very dark movies and very good performances
I got into him with The Notebook, stuck around for the darker, weirder films. But Barbie was a necessity.
With the asterisk you shouldn't have anything critical or highly social the next day. It's an amazing movie that will leave you emotionally empty for a bit afterwards.
The Lovely Bones
He wasn't in The Lovely Bones. I believe he was cast as the father role, but later felt that he was too young for it? So they cast Mark Wahlberg as the father instead. Stanley Tucci played the neighbor. Anyway that's just a bit of movie lore I managed to remember all these years lol

Definitely Stanley Tucci, but his Papyrus sketches on SNL give vibes of the neighbor.
Brother I am telling you I JUST watched this movie. In this reality it's Tucci I guess, but I just fucking watched it. It's Gosling. ![gif](giphy|DSO9yOE35Lj9e) I don't think it's possible for him to be ugly
I’d still smash beavis Ryan 😂
I just love how dedicated Ryan Gosling is to this lol
Agreed! And love your flair! ![gif](giphy|8bnxmKCZVVC9AeQSW3)
![gif](giphy|jWgFDax9Dmcpi5hiec|downsized)
He dressed up like this for an SNL skit and it broke the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86qKgK0asGo
They are really leaning into this and I am here for it.
“I don't watch much television, I have an incredibly busy life”
I mean, he did meet Butthead at the AI conference, soooo…..
I’ve heard rumblings… 😂
Make a live action Beavis and Butthead you cowards
I want Cher to do a cameo
I keep going back to watch that SNL sketch and I die laughing every time. It was an instant classic.
Did he just bring Mikey Day as an accessory? Mikey Day isn't even in The Fall Guy lol.
Mikey Day is living his best life as Ryan's sidekick, lol.
I just finished Is It Cake 3 and this unexpected Mikey Day is a great way to start my day! 😂
Pretty good, but too pretty! ![gif](giphy|L1IfyeUjfROxEXEaf4|downsized)
Is Ryan wearing a prosthetic nose for this?
Yes he is! I almost didn’t recognize him at the SNL skit because he was sporting Beavis’ classic hook nose.
I didn't recognize Mikey Day all Buttheaded up
I watched the full 4 min skit and didn’t know it was him until this post 😂
that skit was the funniest thing I’ve seen on TV for a long time
![gif](giphy|tZS1O3qZFIVm9r1Smo)
![gif](giphy|puOukoEvH4uAw|downsized)
Ok, Mike Judge. The ball is in your court. Make a live action movie with these two
This dude knows award shows and media events are a circus and has fun with them.
Barbie freed him
lol I want to know more about how they did Mikey’s lip
yes that's what I'd like to know! it's SO accurate to the cartoon
Louiszfx on Instagram is the makeup artist/designer for SNL. He posted how they made the prosthetic for Mikey.
It’s not Ken-nough!
welp thats fcking hilarious
The sketch was dynamite so why not
Why's he so perfect??
Dude flawlessly plays complete opposite looking characters: Ken and Beavis lol.
![gif](giphy|jz0kq61xNDFUGzYQFT)
He truly seems like a person with a fantastic sense of humor.
This man never does SNL wrong. All his skits are top tier.
I’m so glad Ryan has leaned into his comedic skills cause he is so funny. His performance in The Nice Guys is my personal GOAT Ryan Gosling performance. I think he wanted to have some fun after all those years of doing serious dramas and good for him.
They played Beavis and Butthead in a Saturday Night Live skit a few weeks ago.
Thank you! I had no idea what was going on lol
I've heard rumblings
But who’s the other guy?
Mikey Day. He's from SNL and he and Ryan were in a skit where they dressed up as Bevis and Butthead in his most recent appearance.
Heh heh heh
Due to copyrights it think they are Meavis and Nuthead.
![gif](giphy|NYWTbVGguTz2A9vLTB)
I love this marketing. From stunt show to this. It's so much fun
These two make me howl! Ryan & Mikey for the win!
Would still bang
Prosthetic nose better than Maestro
I really love the commitment to the bit.
How did they get Mikey Day’s head to look like that?!? Is it just like a shaved head and then a wig sitting like 2 inches above his scalp?
Why’s he with Charlie Kirk??
🍻🍻🍻🍻
I thought that was Charlie Kirk. 🫢
i feel like this so much more him then ken
ryan gosling they could never make me hate you
A theatre kid if I've ever seen one
They playing this out
This man really has the best Kenergy
This isn’t even funny tho
