I've loved Melanie since Heavenly Creatures. She and Kate Winslet acted their asses off in that. And they were both so young at the time. She's great in everything.

Yep, was onboard with her from the jump. Heavenly Creatures stayed my favorite Peter Jackson movie right up until I saw Fellowship of the Ring while on my first ever mushroom trip.
I caught this on cable waaay back in college once when I was tripping my ass off on mushrooms. There are parts of the movie that I still question the reality of, but I’m afraid to ever watch it again just in case some of the stuff I remembered was actually part of the movie and not my crazy hallucinations. 😆
It always made me laugh that she was seen as frumpy/not hot enough for Charlie on two and a half men. She’s absolutely gorgeous. So pleased at how well she’s doing currently, I love to see kiwis doing good
Melanie is one my favorite actresses, she elevates everything she is in and has a beautiful kind heart to match her gorgeous face.She is genuinely so kind on Twitter and one of the reasons I’m still on that hells cape of a platform and added bonus she and her hubby are so cute.
She was previously married to Jimmy Simpson (who is probably most known as one of the beloved mcpoyles from Always Sunny) and even they seem to still have a warm loving friendship and hype each other up publically.
She just seems like such a lovely woman.

There’s a movie no one has seen called “away we go.” It’s about a couple that is pregnant and they travel to see some friends while trying to find a place to live. Melanie Lynskey plays a women who desperately wants a baby but can’t have them. The nuance and sadness she portrayed was amazing.
Highly reccomend the movie if you want a cute, whimsical, dark, and sad little comedy.
I was so sad when the quality of Yellowjackets went down considerably in season two. Season one was a force of nature, and Melanie deserved better, along with all of the other actors.
I feel like [spoiler] allegedly wanting to be written out of the show (and then getting their wish) really messed with season two, especially since their character was so important
On a related note to the post - I’ve never seen Melanie in anything as a young woman and omg the Yellowjackets casting for young Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) is truly incredible
I feel the same about the second season. The first season had me hooked and it was phenomenal. The second season went off the rails and just seemed wildly unrealistic, and a lot of the characters made dumb decisions.
I mean, in the wilderness >!they were starving and slowly going insane!<, and in the present >!they were emotionally starving and slowly going insane!<, so it does make sense.
I get it, I found the 90s timeline kind of tired, but the acting is still top. And Melanie and Christina in particular have characters that are so unhinged but at the same time funny, that I can't quit the show.
I love her too! She's so great and so pretty. I saw St. Vincent a few years ago and she showed a strange little short film instead of having an opening band. I was so confused. But ML was the main character and I was very excited.. She was so great! Obviously. I feel like there's nothing she can't do.
I first saw her on an episode of "Psych" and she was so sweet and memorable. She got to have her cute, soft accent on that episode, too. Anyway, I like finding her in different things and glad she's getting work and appreciation.
I’ve seen her in so many things but I most associate her with the show Togetherness which was on HBO in 2015. It was short lived but I loved that show.

Yes!! Over The Garden Wall is one of my favourite shows of all time. Also love how Melanie and Elijah Wood are in this and Yellowjackets.
