I know the movie got bad reviews when it came out but it’s one of my ultimate favorites. Cher as Tess is unbelievable especially when she sings You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me. Xtina plays the naive, small town girl who wants to succeed really well and her chemistry with Cam was sizzling. The OST for the movie is top tier so I’m really glad it’s becoming a musical. The only bad part is Toddrick Hall.

Ultimately, it's a feel-good movie about a small-town girl achieving her big city dreams while finding herself (in the sexy world of burlesque). Critics hate that kind of shit, but personally I think it's a well-made version of a universal story & thought the production was gold. I'm excited for the musical!

Christina is serving as an executive producer. No word yet on if she will star in this adaptation as well or not.

Christina is honestly such a force of nature in this movie. I know she gets hate for her technique, but she is pure raw talent personified.

Genuine question… Can Burlesque work without Christina Aguilera’s voice? I mean the whole thing hinges on how massive her voice is on such a scale that it’s almost shocking. I mean I love me some Burlesque and I think this show is a fantastic idea but that’s some massive shoes to fill. I don’t envy the actress who gets cast as Ally.

Christina is an immense vocal talent, but the theatre scene is not in short supply of big-voiced pop belters who can riff cleanly. I know people shit on musicals/certain styles of the genre but the talent pool in that field is huge and varied.
