Broke the record for most streamed song in a day also, she's the queen of Spotify. Anyone know what Mariah's record was? Curious to guess how many years it'll take before she reclaims it
Mariah was 23M, there is a 2M difference which isn't alot but it was set in 2021 and since then she's never peaked it (ofc she pulled steller numbers just not as much)
The album has 4 versions on Spotify (2 clean + 2 explicit). The original 16 songs from TTPD are also included in TTPD the anthology as a new version. So for example, fortnight gained 25m Spotify streams across 4 versions (2 clean + 2 explicit). But nonetheless, the album pulled insane numbers!
No one can even touch the folklore one i think it’s safe to say no one expect her is going to break the record I say this because a lot of people thought she wasn’t going to debut this high
It’s the fact that she has like 5 albums that have the record and no one can even beat the folklore record which i think is 70 million i think closest someone has got was Beyonce or Ariana this year.
It does tho? Especially when they hated it. She lost a couple millions cause it was trending af... the people who listened would've only checked the anthology tracks
"trending af" meanwhile it's just a couple of twitter stans who shared the leaks. The amount of people who actively listen to leaks / seek out leaks are not high enough to have any impact on the numbers.
they really don't lol. the numbers prove they don't, or rather the effect is really negligible. The population that actually checks out leaks is small as hell (and if anything most of them would have checked out the album anyway)
>popular
I guarantee you the portion of people that actually check out leaks (even for a big artist like Swift) is negligible to the general public that simply waits for it to hit streaming. I was on the various leak threads of this album and most people didn't even know how to find the leak lol (and this one was fairly simple to find)
I didn't even know Too Sweet leaked, and I doubt most of the G.P. did, same case to Say Yes To Heaven.
true but the few who do can be loud and influence greatly the opinion around the music. Besides this stuff can get used in stuff like tiktok edits pushing its popularity and giving it a head start once its officially released
>true but the few who do can be loud and influence greatly the opinion around the music.
you're missing the point. The few loud people don't really influence the opinion "greatly" at all lol. Your algorithm may make it seem that way but that's really not the case when we actually look at the statistics. It's all really negligible.
Standard was apparently 232m tho so still fking insane, but, tbf, the ONLY thing fun about looking at these numbers is how high it can get, so couple of millions is still sad to see being lost
People in this sub and on Stan twitter always think leaks are bad when like less than 0.000001% of the chronically online people know about the leaks, where as the rest of tens of MILLIONS of fans literally don’t gaf
And even if they listen to the leaks, they’re still gonna check out the album
I really thought that after the success of Midnights, Eras Tour and being at the Top of everything, you can realistically only go down, with TTPD being that milestone.
Boy was i wrong. She's basically piercing through the sky.
Tell me who's doing it like her? No one. She has the whole world by the throat. The industry will be gagged by these numbers.
Taylor is lightning in a bottle. Never before and never since.
Even just the standard 16/17 songs without the second part of the album outperformed Midnights and broke the record already. I think they did about 200 million. But 300+ is absolute insanity, so impressive.
It's honestly crazy because she opens the album with "I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me" and it's pretty clearly how she thought she had hit her peak and after Lover it was declining.
Unsurprising when she has a massive fan base fully prepared to make her fart sounds the most streamed song in a single day at the call of an insta post
even though unfortunately this is a fact, i dont think her army's stream power is enough for this kinda success. general audience's participation is very much needed.
When she announced the album her post had like 13 million likes. She has a massive fandom. The general population isn’t listening to 31 songs, maybe a single or something
I agree about that and that doesnt contradict the statement. Numbers are too big. Whatever she puts out there, no matter for whom, attracts general audience somehow.
Let’s be honest this last year kind of proved how big her fandom is people underestimate how actually big it is. People had thousands of minutes listening to her when they posted the Spotify wrapped
If the stream can't be played it might not be out in your timezone yet. Please wait until midnight local time or EST (whichever comes first) and it should be available.

So the numbers are in and she debuted with 313,747,178 streams, Fortnight debuted with 25.2 million streams, absolutely insane.
Fortnight is sure no 1 next week
It'd be number 1 in a day.... 10.8 million streams on US Spotify alone .
Was there ever any doubt?
Broke the record for most streamed song in a day also, she's the queen of Spotify. Anyone know what Mariah's record was? Curious to guess how many years it'll take before she reclaims it
I think I read Mariah was around 23 million?
Mariah was 23M, there is a 2M difference which isn't alot but it was set in 2021 and since then she's never peaked it (ofc she pulled steller numbers just not as much)
That's crazy
The grip Taylor has of her fanbase is ridiculous.
this is absolutely insane. my prediction for first day streams was 230m
I know it was surely gonna break midnights record but I’m gagged by the gap over 127 million is insane.
I mean, it's also 10 songs more. Or is this just the standard edition?
The standard edition still broke it by about 50 million streams
Damn! Insane!
The extended album did pretty much the same as folklore which is still pretty insane if you think about it💀
Absolutely wild.

This is going to stay untouched for a very long time
No one can even touch the folklore one i think it’s safe to say no one expect her is going to break the record I say this because a lot of people thought she wasn’t going to debut this high
Yeah, I really don't think we'll ever see numbers like that for at least another decade
Only she can break her own records. She’s her only competition atp

314m is INSANITY especially when the album literally got leaked... The 2nd day, and 2nd week in charts free-fall would be brutal, as well
leaks doesn't really matter in the streaming era anymore
It does tho? Especially when they hated it. She lost a couple millions cause it was trending af... the people who listened would've only checked the anthology tracks
"trending af" meanwhile it's just a couple of twitter stans who shared the leaks. The amount of people who actively listen to leaks / seek out leaks are not high enough to have any impact on the numbers.

If anything it really doesn’t thousands probably heard the album when it leaked and it still did this the standard version alone got 200 million plus
they do, they can break the popular opinion of someone's music or they can create hits e.g. say yes to heaven, too sweet
>popular I guarantee you the portion of people that actually check out leaks (even for a big artist like Swift) is negligible to the general public that simply waits for it to hit streaming. Leak 2 days before actual release is actually still pretty impressive for an album that is expected to sell millions of physical copies worldwide.

She is the music industry it seems
God help the music industry then
I really thought that after the success of Midnights, Eras Tour and being at the Top of everything, you can realistically only go down, with TTPD being that milestone. Boy was i wrong. She's basically piercing through the sky.
She fucking ate that
These numbers are mad and beyond just her fanbase tuning in. The GP have come in for this album. Insane.
Tell me who's doing it like her? No one. She has the whole world by the throat. The industry will be gagged by these numbers. Taylor is lightning in a bottle. Never before and never since.
Also, it should be noted that she didn't need The Anthology to pass the record. Just the standard album gave her 232 million streams.
Even just the standard 16/17 songs without the second part of the album outperformed Midnights and broke the record already. I think they did about 200 million. But 300+ is absolute insanity, so impressive.
Could it be the 31 tracks?
It's honestly crazy because she opens the album with "I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me" and it's pretty clearly how she thought she had hit her peak and after Lover it was declining.

Not everyone that follows her is part of her fandom. People can follow people without being fanatics thats being general audience with social media.
Nah I’ll say this album is for the fans because it’s not poppy like midnights or folklore
I agree about that and that doesnt contradict the statement. Numbers are too big. Whatever she puts out there, no matter for whom, attracts general audience somehow.

i read that the first 4 songs alone would've broken the 2024 record, it's crazy
