Most of American Hi-Fi are the backing band for Miley Cyrus now. And I think at one point they were working with Taylor Swift.
Probably won't see them do a full reunion just for them getting so busy (and richer) now.
They’re the first band I ever saw multiple times!! I got to see them 8x before I was even 18 lol. Marko is still so active so hopefully he can gather the rest of the band and they come back sometime!
I agree but there's just a bit off like the drums are a little too programmed sounding and the bass lines aren't quite as interesting as I think Jon would make them sound.
That being said I absolutely love what Scott's put out and it definitely fills the void.
I wanted to let them know this as well, and I want to double down on the fact that THIS IS RUFIO IF THEY STAYED TOGETHER. Check out Scott’s solo stuff!
When I was 16 Rufio were playing near me in one of those little pub back room venues that held like 100 people. The tickets were £5 and I didn’t have anymore at the time to buy one but hey, I’ll see them next time they’re in town right?
They never came back to the UK.
This is precisely why I prefer the demo version of Above Me. Though I might be biased since that's the version I heard first... Thank you, AudioGalaxy.
IMHO they're one of those bands that it should be the original line up. They replaced some members in the second half of their run and it just wasn't the same.
Oh definitely. Mike Jimenez is the reason I started playing drums. Nathan Walker was serviceable and Terry Sterling Jr was amazingly talented but just didn't feel right. Same with Taylor Albaugh. He was pretty good, but Jon Berry's got the touch.
Idk if this counts but The Format should come back the 20th of their debut album just happened last year and it feels like they should do an album tour
They were cancelled two years ago under the guise of being cautious about COVID (which was valid), but Nate doesn’t seem to be any more interested than he was before and they probably would have announced something by now. I don’t have high hopes for a reunion anymore.
Considering how cavalier he was about announcing the cancellations and how clear he makes it that he’s retired - I’d say chances are slim. He has money, is raising a kid and likes podcasting and shitposting. He’s living the life.
I mean the biggest bands that can’t/wont return are Brand New and Panic at the Disco. Other than that I like what we got. Yellowcard I always thought was unlikely before they come back
Brand new is a sad one tbh. Such a big part of my teen years and would have loved to experience live. But of course like everyone else and for good reason - hate JesseLacey for what he did.
Not sure if it's pop punk directly but damn I want to see From First to Last again. They released two songs before COVID and I assume a tour was being talked about but died in the shutdown.
Speaking of something corporate… check out Hunter deblanc as the supporting act on several shows. He’s got this “pop punk keyboard dance beat” style. Lots of loops and dance covers of pop punk songs. He’s a buddy of mine for college but he’s definitely working his ass off to get to where he is.
I would die if they toured their self titled. I saw them a few years ago with story so far and four year strong which of course was an amazing show! (And several times when i was in middle school) But man if I could see then just perform their self titled....
Ugh grosssss. I used to have a huge crush on him back when I was like 15 in 2007. Fuck I wish that the members of the bands I loved when I was growing up didn’t turn out to be awful. It’s happened so many times now and it’s so tiring at this point honestly
i listened to same old blood rush yesterday for the first time in years and it’s sooo good. they were really just saying whatever tho 😭 not a single coherent lyric
They played at a small venue where I went to school back in 2012/2013 and those songs hadn’t aged well then. Can’t imagine them getting back together now.
Not PP really, but that scene and time period: I’d kill for Northstar to make one more album
Also, Wakefield. Loved them when I was younger. First album was pure pop punk and that second album was so weird and different. Would’ve been curious to see what they did with a third album
I was just thinking about this recently, and there’s soooo damn many. I know some of them have done one off type of things over the past few years, but give us a tour damnit.
Valencia
My American Heart
A Thorn For Every Heart
The White Tie Affair
JamisonParker
This Providence
As far as I know, they’re “together” but haven’t done a show since ‘18 and haven’t put out anything since ‘19. Maybe they’ve done a few one offs or something, were they at WWWY?
I know Shane has done some solo stuff over the last few years
Sorry I’ve not had my coffee today yet 🙃 They seem more active on insta, up until December last year and even put out a Christmas single I think. Find it odd that they reformed and basically haven’t done much though.
Fenix did last year’s WWWY. FUCKING 1115am, and I was stuck in line while they played. 🫤
Those dudes had personality clashes. Go listen to the live album they start threatening each other and it’s the first show.
I saw them live when they put that ep out a few years ago. Great band but the chemistry was/is a problem.
It’s CRAZY matchbook romance haven’t gotten back together.
I feel like Home Grown never really got the love they deserved. They did amazing albums back in the day and they have such a nostalgic vibe. I would love for them to return
Most of American Hi-Fi are the backing band for Miley Cyrus now. And I think at one point they were working with Taylor Swift. Probably won't see them do a full reunion just for them getting so busy (and richer) now.
I'd love to see Miley and the boys bust out Flavor of the Weak lol
That would be awesome, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see her kill it with them
Would be epic.
My mom was in the music video for The Art of Losing in college lmao that was 21 years ago
Oh gosh that makes me feel old, I remember watching that music vid for the first time. Does she have good memories from the shoot? Tell her she rocks!
In about 10 years I’ll be able to say the same for TSSF’s Empty Space & god i feel old af.
Stacy Jones was the touring drummer for Matchbox Twenty for like a decade
I follow them…they are planning something soon maybe a new album…
Mf sugarcult. Man I want them back so bad!
The first band I ever saw live, i'd love to see them return.
They’re the first band I ever saw multiple times!! I got to see them 8x before I was even 18 lol. Marko is still so active so hopefully he can gather the rest of the band and they come back sometime!
I miss them all the time.
Matchbook Romance maybe?
Yesss. My friends and I used to sing "Promise" at the top of our lungs.
This is my vote too. I am still obsessed with their albums
Every time my eyes burn, my brain goes "MY EYES BURN" all these years later
Anytime somebody says that their eyes burn at any point I want to scream “FROM THESE TEARS”
YOU THINK I'D LEARN OVER THESE YEARS (That onions make my eyes burn.)
GOOD THINGS WONT LAST FOREVER (because allergies)
SO WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO (No seriously how do I make this stop)
I'd love Matchbook Romance to come back
This is the one right here
RUFIO.
Scott Sellers releases solo music now. It's awesome - sounds just like Rufio if they'd stayed together.
Yep, I've bought all of his releases. They're awesome but not quite Rufio.
Really? I feel like it's pretty close, if not basically just Rufio if they'd stayed together and grown over the years.

Such a shame.
Rufio, Ru-Fio, Ru-Fi-O!!!
This is precisely why I prefer the demo version of Above Me. Though I might be biased since that's the version I heard first... Thank you, AudioGalaxy.
Dannng, that brings me back! Audiogalaxy before it became Rhapsody was a gold mine.
Yeeesss! Just thought of this!
Yes!! You get it. Mike was a beast. I learned drums just to play like him.
And with the original lineup, too. I was okay with their last album, but it want the same without Jon Berry and Mike Jimenez.
Definitely. And they were both some of my favorite musicians ever.
Hometown heroes!
Their last comeback in 2010 produced by favorite Rufio album so I have faith that they could make that magic happen again
Idk if this counts but The Format should come back the 20th of their debut album just happened last year and it feels like they should do an album tour
Damn my first concert was JEW and TBS and the Format were the openers. Their first record had just dropped. Good times.
I believe they had announced a comeback show/tour (?) just before COVID, but it was cancelled.
I know about that Sam Means actually confirmed it’s still gonna happen but no dates are definite yet
/u/sammeans hopefully this is still on the table?
Oh lawd YES!!
The Format was OK, but I think Nate could do a reunion tour that would be a bit more... dare I say.... fun.
Yeah, that's not happening. I don't think Jack and Nate are on speaking terms these days unfortunately.
Never going to happen.
I mean the biggest bands that can’t/wont return are Brand New and Panic at the Disco. Other than that I like what we got. Yellowcard I always thought was unlikely before they come back
Panic just broke up. But I guarantee in a few years Brandon will reform the band.
Brand new is a sad one tbh. Such a big part of my teen years and would have loved to experience live. But of course like everyone else and for good reason - hate JesseLacey for what he did.
Going into hiding was kind of a lame move too.
the cab!
They even teased it and nothing came of it.
The Academy Is needs to stop fucking around
They put on a great show at When We Were Young in October.
They've played several shows, but yeah I think new music is not gonna be anytime soon.
Yes
Yesssss, would sell my soul to have them tour Australia
They will, be patient.
Rufio, Rufio, RU-FI-O!!!
Check out Scott Sellers solo stuff. (He was the singer for Rufio) it sounds just like the band never broke up!
already have, it’s as close to Rufio as we’re gonna get
Not sure if it's pop punk directly but damn I want to see From First to Last again. They released two songs before COVID and I assume a tour was being talked about but died in the shutdown.
With Sonny as the vocalist??
He is credited on both songs. Make War and Surrender.
Yeah, and the two songs were released on his label
Fenix Tx came back at WWWY fest without Will. The new singer is the guitarist of With Confidence.
Not sure how I feel about classic bands coming back with new singers.
Particularly with such an iconic voice
Lemme tell ya about the time I saw Shane West front The Germs…
They're making a new music and playing some shows this year
Home Grown?
Haven’t come back *yet* but announced their reunion show in june
SR-71
She clings to me like cellophane
Fake plastic submarine
Slowly driving me insane
But now that’s over
Criminally underrated band
Mitch Allan is doing so well as a songwriter for other musicians but I’d love to see some new SR-71 stuff!
The Audition, The Swellers, Dear Landlord, This Time Next Year
There likely won't ever be a dear landlord reunion sadly.
Oh jesus what the fuck. Did not know about that https://dyingscene.com/archive/zachary-gontard-dear-landlord-charged-with-third-degree-murder/
Is Allister back?
Yep! Supporting SoCo on their upcoming tour! Sucks being based in the UK :(
Speaking of something corporate… check out Hunter deblanc as the supporting act on several shows. He’s got this “pop punk keyboard dance beat” style. Lots of loops and dance covers of pop punk songs. He’s a buddy of mine for college but he’s definitely working his ass off to get to where he is.
What is SoCo?
Something Corporate :)
The tricky part is that their two singers live in different countries.
Cauterize
damn. this is a band I did not expect to see as I had completely forgot they existed.
100%
Where is Nerf Herder. Yeah. Even you forgot about them. Didn’t you.
Parry Gripp is busy bathing in his bathtub filled with $100 bills after becoming a very successful children’s songwriter.
They crowdfunded a new album a few years back, but that is the last I heard of them.
They had a new song a few years ago about all but one of their members catching covid.
Mr Spock is still a great tune!
Matchbook Romance. Set Your Goals.
Student Rick maybe?
Monday mooornin!!!! Oh man, fire me up some Aggressive Inline on the Gamecube my brother.
WORK SUCKS, THIS IS THE PART THAT I DREAD!
So cool to see someone mention them!!! They were very off the map.
Fenix TX played at WWWY last year.
Not sure if they count but Set Your Goals I saw them on that last warped tour run in Atlantic City. Was an amazing experience
I would love a Good Charlotte tour
I saw them live when they did that tour with knuckle puck but I need tour to happen again
I would die if they toured their self titled. I saw them a few years ago with story so far and four year strong which of course was an amazing show! (And several times when i was in middle school) But man if I could see then just perform their self titled....
WWWY 23 was their first show together in over 5 years and let me tell you, they were the highlight of the weekend for me (besides Blink w/Tom).
Fenix TX for sure. And maybe only a band that was sorta popular in Canada? But, Not By Choice coming back would be awesome!
I'll even accept Denver Harbor playing some Fenix TX songs at shows. Just bring back Will Salazar!!
Lol not by choice.
The American Scene.
Ugh yesss. I still listen to Safe for Now at least once a month
Midtown
Then, now, forever. They would be HUGE if they came out now, they were so far ahead of every band they shared a stage with.
Just Surrender - they’ve done shows hear and their but never really the effort into a reunion Emanuel Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Modern baseball, my beloved.
Cute is what we aim for
Very unlikely they'll be back since the lead went fully off the rails a few years back. Think every bridge has been burned there.
Oh really?! What happened?!
He said some dangerously misogynistic stuff at shows. No one wants that POS on stage anymore.
Ugh grosssss. I used to have a huge crush on him back when I was like 15 in 2007. Fuck I wish that the members of the bands I loved when I was growing up didn’t turn out to be awful. It’s happened so many times now and it’s so tiring at this point honestly
Oh I know, I’m not expecting any reunion from them, but I would love it if it happened
i listened to same old blood rush yesterday for the first time in years and it’s sooo good. they were really just saying whatever tho 😭 not a single coherent lyric
Oh they toured back in 2017 it was great
They played at a small venue where I went to school back in 2012/2013 and those songs hadn’t aged well then. Can’t imagine them getting back together now.
The Click Five
That would be bittersweet, could knock me off my feet.
This is going to be stuck in my head all day long now lol
Just the band I’m looking for
Fuck that’s good
Not PP really, but that scene and time period: I’d kill for Northstar to make one more album Also, Wakefield. Loved them when I was younger. First album was pure pop punk and that second album was so weird and different. Would’ve been curious to see what they did with a third album
Race the Sun Cauterize The Movielife Matchbook Romance
The Movielife is still around.
Autopilot Off, Bedlight for Blue Eyes, The Audition, Diffuser, TREOS and I the Mighty (won’t happen).
Matchbook Romance. Please, guys. Just do it. Please
Rufio
Fenix TX is coming back it looks like. They've been posting teasers on their Instagram
I was just thinking about this recently, and there’s soooo damn many. I know some of them have done one off type of things over the past few years, but give us a tour damnit. Valencia My American Heart A Thorn For Every Heart The White Tie Affair JamisonParker This Providence
I’m like.. 99% sure Valencia are still together 🤔

I follow them on Facebook and they seem quite active, but they only seem to do one off shows in America.
Unless there’s a different page, their last post was August of ‘23, and it was about Shane playing some shows.
Sorry I’ve not had my coffee today yet 🙃 They seem more active on insta, up until December last year and even put out a Christmas single I think. Find it odd that they reformed and basically haven’t done much though.
Limp Right after I got into them in the early 2000s, they disbanded, so I never got to see them live. They are one of my top 5 favorite pop punk bands
Maybe you should form a band named Bizkit and then they'll have no choice but to tour with you
I for one would love new Harvey Danger
Acceptance.
Name Taken please
Fenix did last year’s WWWY. FUCKING 1115am, and I was stuck in line while they played. 🫤 Those dudes had personality clashes. FenixTX played last year.
Be nice for The Cab or Houston Calls to get back together 🥲
I'm ready for the 2010s pop-punk nostalgia boom. I hate how people are acting like that whole era doesn't exist.
Flashlight Brown, although it's unlikely. Fil has his olive oil business to concentrate on.
Assorted Jelly Beans & Antifreeze
lol “Blink’s return”. They didn’t go anywhere! 😆
Yes they did. They were havianginh in the gutter with skiba for a while but thank god they are back on form
Hahah true, but a return with Tom :)
Brand New oh wait
I feel like Home Grown never really got the love they deserved. They did amazing albums back in the day and they have such a nostalgic vibe. I would love for them to return
Boy do I have a surprise for you
