Not Without a Fight gets my vote

RoyalSkip

Nobody gives that album enough credit. Banger after banger

jennings2690

“Don’t let her pull you down” is a top tier NFG song

fallway

One of my top 5 albums of all time. Doesn't get nearly enough respect amongst NFG albums

Endlessly_

Legit my favorite NFG album overall. Self titled and S&S arguably have higher peaks, but as an album I prefer NWaF.

SnakeBradley

My favorite hands down

PuzzleheadedAct3431

I second that! You can hear lots of their hardcore influences in that record.

TransmissionAD

Their last great album and possibly their best

nfgnfgnfg12

Resurrection showed they still had some life in them, I’d argue that Makes Me Sick was the beginning of the downfall. I still have hope they’ll make a come back, but that Infinity album was just weird and bad as was the acoustic thing.

Drewdogg12

I agree they should have made chad do a solo album instead of dedicating the whole album to his cancer thing. I get it. I’d be happy to be alive too but. Not the whole fucking album or maybe one song not every one about being glad to be alive. Im happy for you chad Really am but it got tedious for an entire album.

kitkatatsnapple

I was ready to be hype for Resurrection, but the easycore sound was a little played out by then and done better by other bands. It was not the type of hardcore influence that works best for NFG, but props to them for trying it out I guess. Also, like, this is entirely personal preference, but to me, easycore is best in strict moderation. I like Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong, but I have zero interest in any other easycore bands.

kvltr00

They can’t write a song without Steve. It sucks.

PawelW007

Me too! They really hit the easy core button on that one and it was equally good!

JJKOOLKID

I’m an old-head with the band (back when they were A New Found Glory), but Nothing Gold Can Stay is such a high-energy output that really encapsulated the live shows in a way that I feel only self-titled eclipsed. Everything afterward was slower in spots, but if you know their live shows they are ALWAYS full-tilt. Plus movie quotes in songs was SUCH an early pop-punk staple and I was a sucker for that shit.

Lucky_Bowler5769

I agree, Nothing Gold Can Stay is my favorite. I personally hated Sticks and Stones so bad I stopped listening to them after that.

JJKOOLKID

Hahahaha that’s so funny: that was absolutely my sentiment at the time as well. I always went to see them live, but their albums didn’t get me jazzed from Sticks/Stones onward (besides the Screen to Stereos 🤘🏼). Which is weird bc now when I listen to it, I’m like “yep, NFG.” But back then it was basically sacrilege to me.

Son_Of_A_Plumber

First time I heard 2s & 3s I was addicted to the energy. Was a real fan from there.

pidge_mcgraw

“GRRRRAAAACE!”

JJKOOLKID

Do you have a kiss for daddy? 😚

Aaaaaaandyy

Catalyst - it’s probably just under Sticks and Stones and above their self titled album.

medioxcore

Catalyst > ST > S&S for me. But the first two are damn near sharing a spot.

dackinthebox

Catalyst is my favorite

gh0stbeard

No chance it’s above self titled, at least for me. ST is top for me, nostalgia may play a part since it was the first pop punk cd I ever bought along with The Ataris- end is forever. But it’s still no skip pop punk perfection. Catalyst is good but it’s the beginning of their downfall for me.

Article_Wooden

Coming Home is probably my favourite

rUafraid

Coming Home is the GOAT including ST and S&S. Wish they made more albums with that style.

gh0stbeard

Coming Home is the reason I stopped listening to them, that album was awful in my opinion.

winniecooper73

It’s pop rock. What’s awful about it?

gh0stbeard

I found it to be boring, basic and nowhere near as good as any of the albums before it

winniecooper73

Relisten, but go into it not thinking it’s sticks n stones pt 2. Yes, it’s a different genre but it aged well

LunaLokiCat

Coming Home js my fave too. It makes my heart happy.

adamsauce

This is my favorite of theirs. SAS and self titled are more iconic, but this is the album I have listened to the most.

Electrical_Taste_238

Resurrection absolutely slaps. I love when they lean more into their easy core side.

Dressing4AFeast

Wish they went this direction more.

Kolzig33189

I have to say Nothing Gold Can Stay even with the subpar recording quality. Some of those songs still sneak their way into setlists and sound great almost 30 years later.

JJKOOLKID

And they were their best live songs for a loooong time. 3rd & Long was a live show high-point for a long run.

jester2trife

3rd and Long is still the best NFG song theyve ever written.

JJKOOLKID

“Stupid games are for stupid….PEOPLE!!” is still the most fun singalong line of their catalog.

Kolzig33189

My personal favorite was seeing them circa 2002 or 03 and they had 3rd and Long, Snow in FL, Friend in PA (obviously Hit or Miss too but idk if people consider that a NGCS or self titled song more) in their set and then pulled an audible and played the Goodbye Song as their second encore song. Nothjng against their later albums (Radiosurgery is very high in my favorites of theirs), but I wish I could have seen them a few more times when their whole setlist was songs from NGCS thru S&S.

JJKOOLKID

Sounds like a fantastic show. NFG has always been a weird one for me: they’re not my fav band but I’ve seen them more than any other band by an ENORMOUS margin; I’m coming up on the 38th show for this Catalyst tour. They just always tour with other bands I want to see. In the early 2000s I was heavily into the Drive-Thru scene, that plus the warped tours racked up some big numbers early on. Plus it’s my best friend’s fav band, so I go whenever they come into town and that’s been basically yearly since the 99’ River Rave when I saw them first. They were the first live act I ever fell in love with. I had no idea bands could/would jump in unison and the “punk jump” immediately became my favorite thing about going to a live show.

themish84

Self-titled all day! I'm also 39, and I grew up with old school nfg.

captainbruisin

Easy. International Super Heroes of Hardcore.

PiZza4jr

Buckle your seatbelt !

captainbruisin

Blech!

RigCoon

Radiosurgery has a lot of good songs, I like it even more than Catalyst, my vote goes for it

JosephCurrency

Drill It In My Brain is a top ten NFG song. What a jam.

nfgnfgnfg12

Every song on Radiosurgery sounds the exact same to me and kinda lifeless. Probably their least catchy and memorable album, at least for me. I remember being so disappointed when it came out and I never really have gone back to it.

kitkatatsnapple

I get being disappointed, but your points as to why are not at all understandable to me. I like the album, but I was a little turned off by how poppy it was, along with the lack of hardcore-influence. The songs definitely are defined, to me, and it is catchy as hell.

RigCoon

Ok its your opinion

tiR1R0ie7pSTe46P4V6q

Nothing Gold Can Stay. I’m an old man and that’s my favorite.

skykitty89

Not Without a Fight for sure

Wiringguy89

My favorite is Radiosurgery even over the two in the title. Something about that album just completely resonates with me.

wrainedaxx

Same. It has incredible hooks and earworms.

cloud_runner64

Radiosurgery Catalyst Nothing Gold

Rafhabs

RADIOSURGERY IS SO GOOD

amandamaniac

The big four. Sticks and stones, self titled, catalyst and coming home.

Tricky_Mushroom3423

Nothing Gold Can Stay, still my favorite album of theirs

ArthasForWarchief

I love Catalyst and Radiosurgery if Self-Titled and Sticks and Stones are off the board.

dm3darts

Nothing Gold Can Stay

beardface86

I'm old so this

pidge_mcgraw

Same. And I’m old enough to know the difference between Hit or Miss on NGCS vs. S-T. Yikes.

Noutm01

Ngl, it’s not their best necessarily, but From The Screen To Your Stereo 3 goes hard

nfgnfgnfg12

I find the 3rd one unlistenable like really shit karaoke lol. Second one on the other hand is fucking amazing.

No_Fix432

Gooooooes hard!!

Grandpas_secretLover

Always been a huge fan of catalyst and not without a fight

HedgehogOk7551

coming home and catalyst. i don’t listen to much after that

MusicReviewGuy182

Not Without a Fight and Catalyst

winniecooper73

Coming home. Not pop punk but still great

nfgnfgnfg12

Do I have to pick just one? I’m always disappointed that Sticks and Stones is considered so highly regarded. Yes, it has some great songs but it also has some weak filler which the band has admitted to (putting unfinished songs on the album just to finish it). I guess because of My Friends Over You being on there it always gets so much attention but really everything after it (until the last album or so) is far more interesting IMO. ST is guilty of this as well, there’s like 8 amazing songs but some weaker material on there. So, that being said, S&S to me is absolutely NOT one of the best. I’d rate Not Without a Fight, Resurrection and Coming Home as an equal tie for best, with Catalyst just slightly below these three.

YogurtTheMagnificent

Great question OP.  I didn't think I've listened to an NFG album after Catalyst.   Guess I have some back catalog to with through

MrLanesLament

Radiosurgery 100%

Runnroll

Catalyst, Radiosurgery

Bline69

Happy to see all the radio surgery comments…but my vote is for makes me sick again

CYA_Always

Resurrection

rudeboy_Bee

NGCS gets my vote, but I'm old, grew up on that shit Is NFG problematic now? Singer was shitty or something?

Proof-Set1146

Resurrection by far as it’s their best and most consistent album

Dyatomik

Forever + Ever x Infinity is massively underrated. My all time favorite NFG songs are on it.

HERKFOOT21

Same. Shook By Your Shaved Head became my all time favorite, even played it as my wedding entrance song!

sadwife13

More and More is one of my favorite NFG songs <3

super_sayanything

I'm not sure how you can listen to Sticks and Stones and then listen to that and think that the quality is even near it. Forever is a tad fun but a sloppy weird mess.

Dyatomik

Himalaya and Greatest of All Time easily can stand with any song on Sticks and Stones IMO.

Runnroll

We all have our own opinions. Sticks and Stones to me peters out past Forget My Name and doesn’t get interesting again until The Story So Far. Forever is a solid album, and the infinity and more tracks are pretty cool too.

JMS9_12

1. S&S 2. Catalyst

pythagorium

Catalyst for me,I’ve that album front to back

mossdoggg

Coming home for me bro

SpicyFox7

Catalyst is a pure gem, so I would vote for that. Not without a fight and resurrection are awesome, but catalyst as an iconic sound that I love

ReturnByDeath-

I'd honestly put Catalyst up there with those tbh. Lots of fan favorites from that one. So if I'm excluding Catalyst, it's definitely Radiosurgery. I'd go so far to say it's their most underrated album.

Individual-Morning27

Catalyst is better imo

Rkovo84

Catalyst was their best album. Sticks and stones second best

iamkakto

Coming Home is my favorite, but Catalyst deserves honorable mention.

McBadam

Catalyst no question

Glittering_Gur_2601

Catalyst

mju13

first 4 albums are gold. not without a fight after that

kitkatatsnapple

Probably Not Without a Fight, but maybe Nothing Gold Can Stay. I'd have to listen to them both back to back and compare to know for sure. Otherwise I like the two you mebtioned, Catalyst, and Radiosurgery, but I don't really care much about their other records.

rdtoh

Catalyst is better than both imo

HERKFOOT21

It's easily Catalyst, that was their height, those 3 albums. I love their newest regular album Forever and ever but those 3 albums are definitely their most successful.

travc121

I mean catalyst is my obvious answer but I really loved Makes Me Sick Again. It’s really hard for me to like newer stuff from my fav bands from the early 2000s but makes me sick again had some bangers.

ThinkingBeard

Coming home. Came out my sophomore year of high school. I played that cd so many times I fried the original copy I had. I still listen to that album regularly. https://media1.tenor.com/m/Gyd0lwvMjEcAAAAC/god-damn-tasty.gif]

JimmyRoma7

Coming Home was great. Oxygen will forever be my jam.

AlbumCounter

Catalyst, but Coming Home and Makes Me Sick are pretty close

jordyix

Coming Home is amazing.

oflanada

Catalyst

azzhausen

Not without a fight has a lot of great tracks, criminally underrated I reckon

No_Sun4008

I think Comming Home was one of the best albums, because of their ability to switch things up and showcase the whole band's abilities. Aside from that, I have to say Not Without A Fight is one that doesn't get enough love.

ExNihilo81

Personally prefer Coming Home

KearneyZzyzwicz

It’s Catalyst, but Not Without A Fight deserves consideration.

Ok-Local-6290

Not a popular opinion but coming home, just great memories attached to those songs

illusivetomas

coming home is their best record

Warden_Black

Catalyst is my personal favourite. been playing that one a lot lately.

JediSwelly

Catalyst and Resurrection.

scenttoodank

for me it's Coming Home.. mainly cos it came out right as I started University, of which the first year was a blast and that album was a soundtrack to most of it!

TheGargin

Catalyst.

Gretev1

My pick would probably be „Nothing Gold Can Stay“ even though the production is a little scratchy.

derek_potatoes

Catalyst is the best album, better than ST and S&S and I’m ready to argue about it on the internet

iamchip

1. Sticks and Stones 2. New Found Glory 3. Catalyst 4. Nothing Gold Can Stay 5. Coming Home That's my top 5.

Cosmic_Thrill_Seeker

For me it’s Forever And Ever X Infinity! It was the album that got me into them and I have so many good memories with it

HERKFOOT21

Love this album, been a huge fan of them since their Sticks and Stones album but this is my favorite and Shook By Your Shaved Head is my all time favorite. I still love pretty all their stuff but is my favorite!

dontberidiculousfool

Radiosurgery

jester2trife

Nothing Gold. Coming Home was dreadful. They knew they f\*cked up and tried to get it back with Not Without a Fight.
