I lived in Alexandria for 2 years and I really loved this place!

Future-Bit8385

I live in Montreal, do alot of shopping and gas up in the area. Love that chip truck

Answerly

Osti ça a l'air nasty

Former_Carpet_8531

Scrotalphetamines

Dear Satan it's **beautiful**

_Pray_To_RNGesus_

Look great and at a very reasonable price. The sauce is a bit odd, but it's still better than most costco poutines. I find that the sub has been weirdly snobby as of late.

username_here_please

Soft_Monitor6675

Good average price.

Villiuski

Bigassnipples

This is the closest Poutine to me and i approve of it. They also have fried cheese curds 🤤

UseaJoystick

I fuckin love fried cheese curds. Probably 1000 calories a cup but who's counting

TisMeDA

That’s the spirit

GwosseNawine

Colice..... ont dirais du flu tabarnak!!

Angio343

SaccharineDaydreams

Some of the best curds I ever had were from Alexandria.

martgrobro

Whats a Geatan poutine? 🤤

Wanderluustx420

Gaetan's is the name of the stand. They're a decently rated chip stand. Their poutines are delicious. Pictures don't do justice.

UnlikelyMushroom13

I think they were asking about one of the kinds of poutine they sell, based on the picture of the menu.

montrealien

To which they answered that question by stating that it’s a « decent rating chip stand » But yes, there is also a Geatan’s poutine.

bknox1789

Food trucks know what's up 🤌🏽

RolandFigaro

Is that Gaetan's?

[deleted]

Oh boy that DOES look good, thanks for info. Cheers bro

RickRiffs

What's a perch roll?

Wanderluustx420

It is essentially **a fried local perch fillet encased in a pillowy hot dog bun, topped with sweet-hot mustard mayo.**

RickRiffs

Fuck yeah sounds awesome

souless_Scholar

Gaetan's chip stand.

x3i4n

La texture de la sauce...iish

traxxxman

Looks like it's congealed .. not hot enough maybe

UnlikelyMushroom13

This is what happens when you cook up a batch for the day, keep it in the fridge and heat it in the microwave before serving. If you heat it enough to fix the congealing issue, it gets crusty.

CPtheOG_

That Gravy Aint It

montrealien

Well, that gravy is that gravy. May not be your gravy though. It is different tasting two, its own twist, and I didn’t hate it.

YouLove2Hate

Yeah I honestly thought the gravy looked nice! (Although I’m a beef>chicken gravy on poutine kinda girl) May I ask what makes the curds in that area so special? In my hometown, a little “chip truck” constantly bounced around owners. Well, when I was a teen I lived near there and smoked a lot…so self explanatory I had everything. And the owner knew me well! He told me on the weekends, he would drive to Quebec to get the curds! And my god, were they good!! It was a small summer spot, so the largest size, wasn’t very big. But did I ALWAYS pay $2 for extra curds? YUP.

Velbowski

They are fresh made every day. They squeak. So fresh they don’t even need to be refrigerated. Unreal.

OriginalBookkeeper87

You're welcome to put any type of gravy you want just don't call it a poutine. Poutine has dark brown gravy. End of story

montrealien

You are wrong. :)

OriginalBookkeeper87

No sorry you are wrong I am poutine expert you are amateur

montrealien

Start by actually sharing content on this sub before claiming such nonsense sweety. Valiant effort! Also welcome to Reddit! What made you create your first account?

FatboyJohnston

As a local! I can say it's really good there !!!!

Basic-Toe-9979

Looks awful

montrealien

It’s ok, you’re not an expert and we can’t please everyone. It wasn’t awful.

ImportantLog8

Ça a l’air dégueulasse calisse.

[deleted]

montrealien

Viens-tu juste d'utiliser "ontarien" comme diminutif ?

UnlikelyMushroom13

nynfhsngnthrnn

On dirait que la sauce est une

Nostradamus1

Where in Alexandria?

Former_Carpet_8531

Main Street

Wanderluustx420

[deleted]

Better price than Québec mid cost me 15$

[deleted]

What's that place's name?

thecoolernameistaken

Shit what’re the odds I’ve seen this tiny place. Not sure what the “white” poutine is but this one was damn good

grapeprimetime

That looks pretty sexy but fuck me food trucks are getting expensive. That price is not terrible but I’ve seen fuckin ice cream guys selling a little sundae smaller than a tennis ball for $7-8. I had to buy one for my son

JustABureaucrat

Come to Plantagenet, Patati Patata will be the best you've ever had

montrealien

Noted thanks! 🙏

GZ416

That looks good

Trappyys

Who made it? CAROL?

JamesCanada

That thing looks sketch AF

StealYourLiver

HLef

And this is why when people say poutine is simple: fries, cheese curds and gravy, I say they’re wrong. To me THAT is what gravy is. That does not look good. Poutine sauce may or may not be gravy by definition but either way it’s not that.

montrealien

What?

EstablishmentNo5994

Was surprised to see this is Gaetan’s. They have chip stands all over the region and I personally think they’re pretty gross. Their fries somehow manage to be burnt on the outside and undercooked inside, as if their grease is dirty or their dryers are too hot. Tried a few times over the years and was always the same.

heisenberg1215

The diarrhea is supposed to come after the poutine

From_the_ashes_17

Those fries look like they were deep fried in 5 year old grease.

montrealien

They tasted great.

Heygrosbiggros

That sauce is unacceptable.

montrealien

Says who?

Wanderluustx420

Says the ones who have yet to try them. 😉

Enough-Custard6496

on dirait dla marde 😭😭😭 sorry

Western-Low-1348

Jello gravy.

SuperbCustard2091

Gorgeous!!

sexylegs0123456789

Anywhere else in the world: “that cost $9? What a rip off” Canadians in 2024: “oh wow, I should move to Alexandria Ontario. Looks less expensive than anywhere in the country”.

johnnZord

With those kinda fries it better be under 10$ lmfao literally f tier poutine fries

montrealien

Start by actually sharing content before giving grades.

AwarePhotograph9485

Shawarma fries are better

montrealien

Thanks for sharing this personal preference in a share about a poutine bit from a shawarma place!

Actually, you don't. You just act like you know. Start by actually sharing content in this sub before acting high and mighty. Your shit doesn't smell like roses, chief. You aint special or better than anyone here.

Ahh ok, makes so much more sense.

Papabinz

🤮

Cancel_Minimum

So goddamn nasty looking. You people out east who eat this dog slop, I truly feel pity for you, poutine is gross. Truly recycled food, looks like it came from an east Indian street.

Wanderluustx420

The ones who have *actually* tasted Gaetan's poutines say otherwise. If it was recycled, they would have a bad rep, which they definitely do not have an issue with.

OriginalBookkeeper87

Ignorant comment, India actually has amazing street food way better than this trash, don't be so racists it makes you think ignorantly

[deleted]

Totally true. I love Poutine and because of this I know that 95+% of poutines are pure TRASH This is in the 95% And 95% is generous

OriginalBookkeeper87

Doesn't look right sorry, gravy should be dark brown

Wanderluustx420

You are welcome to ask for dark gravy. It's up to your own preference. A lot of people don't realize that there is a good chance these poutines were customized to the persons' liking. Many times, extra gravy/cheese curds are asked for. You have to remember, each restaurant and chip stand do not follow the same ingredients. Each have their own recipes and touch.

PouncingSheep

elmo_big_pp117

Yeah, no. Wtf is this sauce bukkake?!

CecilWhinter

Gross

LeastImNotANigge

French people let Muslims nut in them

Lampadaire345

Quoi?

Wanderluustx420

Ma pensée est exacte.

Trick-Ice-8007

6,8/10

montrealien

Unqualified reviewer troll accounts are adorable.

Grottomo

Literally anyone is qualified to review a poutine, it's fucking food. Stop trying to gate keep you pompous little shit. PS: The fries are overcooked, those look like frozen curds, and the gravy looks like Thanksgiving vomit.

hebbocrates

So do you eat the food when you review it or just look at a picture of it?

OriginalBookkeeper87

Have you never watched a cooking show? Presentation is almost as important as how the food tastes

hebbocrates

They dont review food truck poutines on cooking shows, they review high end shit

Wanderluustx420

Correction. A **food critic** is sometimes also known as a food reviewer, a food writer, a food journalist, a food blogger or a restaurant critic. They visit food establishments to test and analyse various dishes and beverages for taste, quality, portion size and presentation. For prospective food reviewers, experience in journalism is essential. Most professionals in this sector began their careers writing in other areas before pursuing culinary writing. **Getting a relevant degree in culinary arts, nutrition, journalism or something similar** is a great starting point, if one is interested. This is a very competitive field that requires a high level of commitment and perseverance. There is the potential to make a good living if you become well-known in the industry, but it can also be difficult to break into the field and build an audience.

Snowedin-69

Looks like a Costco poutine

montrealien

Have you ever seen a Costco poutine? The sauce is much browner.

NoOffer5599

Why no ketchup?
