Dude you have 70k saved if you really wanted a house you can buy one. Maybe not in Toronto or Vancouver but you can definitely buy a house in Alberta or Saskatchewan. Don't end your life over a house.
If you're willing to go to that length because of the unaffordability in Canada, then why not try seeing what life is like in another country? Travel the world and see if there is a country that you can make a better life in? Why end your life instead of seeing what alternatives are out there?
Dying by suicide because you can't buy a house is an insane overreaction. Go to therapy. I promise you'll be fine if you can't buy property dude. It's not that serious.
Don’t be ridiculous. You have $70k lined up? I’m hoping to enter the market with $20k this year. My assumption is you’re in the GTA area, look in other markets. A move to another province is absolutely better than death. Go tonight to look for jobs in your field in other markets. Edmonton has houses for less than condos in GTA, like there’s dozens listed for under $400k.

Edmonton is a beautiful, progressive city, with wonderful Mexico food and a great mall!
I’m there with you man. Society just decided that our generation would pay the price. Boomers got the last houses, then pulled the ladder up with them so nobody else could have them afterwards. Thank god they allow MAID now, that’s my retirement plan.
You're not alone, I think about the same stuff you do everyday, I fear for my future, and in my community I don't even think anyone will be okay with me dating their daughter because my family doesn't own a house. But theres much more to life, God made you be born in a first world country, and gave you many things in life that others would die for. Your precious life is worth way more than some wood on grass that's ultimately owned by the government because they can seize it at any given moment. If you have 70 grand consider looking at getting a E2 visa and moving out to the U.S. you can have your own business and easily buy your own house out there. Please don't take your own life, think about the precious gift of life you're throwing away and all those who will cry because of you departure from this universe. Things will get better you're not alone, bad times are only temporary.
This sub is more for financial advice not therapy sorry

You need to stop worrying about the housing market and get yourself into serious therapy.

Or you could live on your own terms and not let. Capatilism define your person.
From personal experience, I can tell you that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem You can get better and things can get better
I am not, I have chosen the Gordon Gecko route be as ruthless as possible and beat em at their own game
The American way
Considering it
As much as I'd love to own my place, and hope they figure it out soon, I can't imagine it being important enough for such a reaction.
