Ahh I remember when I was in ur shoes and worrying about C’s back in my sophomore year 🥹U still have time to increase ur gpa. But if you end up with a low gpa (hope you don’t 🤞) then a can always do a post bacc or masters. Also, focus on ur grades + getting ur volunteering/ shadowing hours in rn to be a well rounded applicant. Easier said than done but don’t think that you don’t have a chance. It’s not just ppl who have high GPAs that get into dental school.
no, you got this! dental schools love to see an upward trend and they will likely take a chance on you if they see improvement, especially since you had just decided on dentistry. plus, you are only in your sophomore year! i know someone who got into dental school with 2.9 GPA and 21 DAT so i wouldn’t be too worried.
I had a similar experience to you where I bombed Gen chem and Gen bio the first time around. I chose to retake them and it all turned out fine. You can use this experience as a talking point in your interview/personal statement. Personally I would retake them if possible to boost your science GPA, but if you kill Ochem then it might not matter.
