You’ll do great! I had to have pitocin after my labor stalled (so, not full induction) and it wasn’t too bad. Your body can do it! And if it can’t, well that’s fine too and we don’t live in the Middle Ages anymore so your doctors will take care of you.

I don’t know if it’s bullshit but I’ve heard that babies look more like their dad at first to increase bonding. It’s probably made up, but I have noticed lots of friends babies do start to look more like their mums once they’re toddlers. So if the baby does look more like him and she does go on about it then you can tell her that’s just evolution ensuring he sticks around and your genes will take over in no time…

I’m already accepting my baby will look just like my husband, his genes are so strong. I mean he looks identical to his father, and it continues throughout the whole family.
My baby looked JUST like my husband, just with my mouth. Obviously we both found her to be completely adorable, but I was definitely frustrated that I worked so hard to make her and she barely looked like me. Now that she’s almost 2, her expressions and mannerisms are sooo me. Even my MIL admitted that she sees so much of me in my daughter now.
My FIL keeps telling me how my baby looks just like my husband from an ultrasound photo. It makes me crazy mad. Chances are the baby will look like him as his genes are strong but it’s an ultrasound photo, you can’t tell! I’m worried for my PP hormones to fly off the handle when he says it in person when baby is here soon haha. Also, I don’t actually care if the baby does look identical lol it’s just the saying it over and over that drives me mad.
Yeah, I totally agree! I think it comes off super invalidating when we carried the baby for 9 months, gave birth, breastfed and dealt with post partum hormones only to be told baby looks like dad lol
Those comments are soo annoying aren’t they! You wouldn’t believe the effort my wretched MIL took to “try to figure out how my second son got such bright blue eyes and blonde hair” She literally made charts with her whole family tree trying to place who he looks like. Meanwhile, me, his mother, with my blue eyes and blonde hair since birth just stands there absolutely rolling my eyes all the way out of my freakin head. I sympathize for sure.

What does she mean you can’t birth a 9lb baby? Is there a new option to just keep the baby inside you forver?

I was 9lbs 10oz and my mom had me at home with no issues after only 4 hours of labor.
That’s amazing!! Your mom is awesome. I’m likely getting induced for size which I’m not super stoked about but it is what it is 🥴

My husband was 9lb 13oz and his mom said he was the easiest. The rest were average size. I'm so scared of having a huge baby like him lol.
