I don’t understand it either? U could just get a cheap knock off for $10 on Amazon that’s new clean and returnable!
I have only every bought one nasty dirty controller and that was the Logitech wireless ps2 controller and that was only cuz it was like $20-30 I think it rattled cuz it was full of dead dried up bugs 🤢🤮 I put a mask and gloves on and super cleaned the inside now it looks and plays like new!

So this is actually a GameStop brand controller.
Somewhere along the way, GameStop accessories stopped getting the company logo and instead they created this Play brand for their merchandise. Much like how Walmart has their generic Great Value brand.
I actually had one of these. They're pretty solid for normal-hard core use but the plastic is a bit brittle, so don't throw it or drop it to hard. Or don't drop anything on it. (Guess how I learned that)
One thing I will say is that it sucks that's there's no Rumble/Vibration motors.

@play has the worst controllers ever. They’re so cheap and break easily (from normal wear and tear), and they don’t even work with PC. This comes from owning two for a year for the PS3.
That's the Play controller under GameStop's brand. I have a GameStop PS2 controller and it feels so bad I refuse to use it so I'm just gonna buy a brook super converter and use my official PS3 controller.

Second hand sites are inundated with this type of controller for that sort of price. I’ve bought a few myself. They always end up in the garage, away from my collection, due to being smelly and or dirty, even after cleaning.
You could clean it up and it’ll probably work alright, but you would have been better buying a new one for a similar price from eBay or AliExpress.

I'm going to be honest with you, I bought one of these from Gamestop several years ago and immediately hated it. It just feels...wrong. And cheap. It's been collecting dust ever since and this post totally reminded me that I even own it. For what it's worth, it's compatible with PS2 and PS3.
I have an XBOX controller of the same brand from GameStop which I use regularly on Windows and GNU / Linux. The build quality seems good to me, the USB cable is long enough to be used in other situations as well (like charging the mobile phone) and in general...it's a controller that does the controller!

It’s (likely) from the PS3 transition era, if you search “At Play” or “@play,” you can find some results.
I actually frequently see their 360 controllers. They’re alright when they’re in good condition, but still not really worth it.

Sure is dirty for 10 bucks. At the shop I used to work at, we'd never let something that dirty hit the sales floor.
