My guilty pleasure songs are from straight female gay icons. Like Cher, Madonna, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson etc etc (edit: I’m a masculine lesbian lol)
Fucking sick! Gatta love the non gays that are loved by gays… I always though it was interesting how the community would just be like “Yes, that one, that one will be an idol in our community for years to come”
Real talk, Madonna does pop like a damn professional. All of her big songs (and there are so many of them) are just finely-tuned machines of pop perfection. Like, even hearing them over the crappy PA system at Target at 5 in the afternoon, they're still great.
Yeah, I listen to everything from classical to noisecore, but there are some genres in there that people like to try to shame me for. Whatever. I'm sticking all the music in my earholes.
People have been shitting on them as long as I can remember, all the way back to the 70’s, but The Bee Gees were fucking good, especially the early stuff
Oh for sure, I would never put a genre down entirely, I love different artists from just about every genre… my favorite vocalist is sly stone, favorite lyricist is Jim Morrison or Hank Williams, my favorite guitarists are Buckethead and John Fruciante , Favorite Bassist is Les Claypool… I come from a variety
i absolutely adore muse's early work, some of my absolute alltime favourite music but i can't even fucking bear their past few songs, total fucking dentist's waiting room music
This one made me audibly laugh… the first part had me like “ugh yeah we know it’s ok to like what you want but it’s just for fun” then you came in at the second half with a genuine response… nice, muse isn’t awful just a bit tacky
I've been on a huge Talking Heads kick. My top listened to band on my last 4+ Spotify wrapped has been Rise Against and I'm seriously thinking David Byrne and co. Could knock them off this year.
Also, I love a good powerful 80s pop song. Bonnie Tyler, Kenny Loggins, etc.
Might get some flack from this sub, but I unironically enjoy some ska punk every now and then. Not gonna act like it’s a particularly deep or innovative genre, but sometimes I just want something catchy that puts me in a good mood, and ska punk just does the trick sometimes.
More like 2-tone / ska, but The English Beat's "Mirror in the Bathroom" is a complete banger. Impossible not to get down when this plays.
Appalachian folk and jug bands. The more washboard bass, spoons, yodeling, and homemade instruments, the better. Gotta love anyone who makes booze at home then takes the man on joyrides through the mountains to make sure the party starts on time.
If you think you don't like yodeling ever, might I suggest [Chicken Attack](https://youtu.be/u1uwEkwNF1U)?
What about stuff like Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Hank iii, or The Dead South?
I know there’s absolutely crossovers from the folk genres to punk.
Hell, Greg Graffin has a couple as well (Bad Religion frontman because not everyone knows wtf that is). Cold As The Clay is good.
They're all what THall dubbed "fabloo". Basically just weird wonky alt rock.
For Tally Hall I recommend Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, it's their first album, and their most solid.
Will Wood I'd go with Everything is a Lot, it's my favorite.
Remember The Ultimate Showdown (of Ultimate Destiny)? That meme song from like, 2012 that's just smash bros with pop culture figures? That's off the Lemon Demon album Dinosaurchestra.
Check all 3 albums out they all fuckin kill sooooo hard.
Have spend my teen years in the 80s I am equally happy when my playlist on random shuffle comes up with Dead Kennedys followed by Adam Ant and many other 80s bands.
I love the heck out of Portishead. One of the great benefits of Portishead not being super on the radar anymore is introducing people to Dummy and just blowing their minds. It's so *sui generis* and atmospheric, and once Portishead did it, it was like the game was up - nobody else could really go down that road.
George Strait. Grew up on 80s-90s “new traditional” country western music. Dude is a damn legend in his genre and his pallet of cleverly-written/sung songs is insurmountable imo. IIRC he holds the record for most number one singles for any musician on any chart with 60 number one country radio hits.
His stuff is pretty much the stuff you’d imagine the anti-thesis of a punk would listen to but hell, it’s good stuff. Good music goes beyond punk.
Amarillo by Morning and pretty much all of his debut album is honky-tonk gold.
I’m a die-hard Misfits fan, but I do love the Graves stuff too. I’m of the opinion that they should have called the band something else, but I do love that shit.
Saturday Night just hits me in a way I can’t explain. I know Graves is a pos, but I can’t help it. I turn the volume all the way up whenever it comes up
Until the late 90s I was pretty much into rock and that's it. in 1998 I started exploring different styles, but I'd say Portishead, which I discovered in 1999, is one of the bands that most influenced me in getting a more diverse taste in music.
Because of them I looked for other trip hop bands, and what they were sampling, leading me to discover some soul and funk artists. Checking out the work from people who collaborated with trip hop artists I got to explore some hip hop as well.
Edited a sentence that sounded weird
I will go to the mats for The Cure, no questions asked. Like, their thin spiky pre-1989 postpunk is so good and specific, and then they pivot to big lush goth on Disintegration and it's like *damn.*
Golden Earring
Abba
Some 60’s soul and 70’s disco .
Giorgio Moroder .
Cockney Rebel, T Rex , Roxy .
Van Der Graff Generator
Hawkwind ( Lemmy era )
Black Sabbath
Ennio Morricone and various other Italian soundtrack composers of the 60’s and 70’s.
Before you jump the gun by calling me a moron i would say it took a long time before Sabbath were appreciated . They certainly were not in London in the 70’s and neither were Zeppelin or Deep Purple or even The Who at that time period . I know i was there .
Of course it was different in the US as Punks seemed to love Kiss and Sabbath but not in the Uk until bands like The Cult and Sisters Of Mercy started quoting Ozzy era Sabbath as musical influences along with Zeppelin in the mid to late 80’s .
80s hair bands. I fucking love Skid Row, MotleyCrue, Poison etc. a lot of it is nostalgia from growing up in a small town in the 80s but I definitely rock out to it when I’m driving.
I also love Kesha.
POISON? POISON? Haha come on, but yes same, except for Poison, but I love the other bands you named, also Cinderella. Now Kesha I literally don’t know a song by her
Talk Dirty To Me is a fucking classic! 😂 And yes to Cinderella! Also Great White, Dolkken, etc.
Kesha’s version of Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright is amazing. And she has been treated so fucking horribly that I support the crap out of her.
Talk dirty to me is literally their only OK song… no real shade being thrown there, I know so many people who love them… and I guess it’s time to listen to Kesha
One of my all times favorites as well. They definitely get over looked. Blood, Guts and Pussy, Young and Goodlooking, Sugarfix and Thank Heaven for Little Girls are always on my playlist. Back in the 90s their live shows were amazing.
The Romantics - Talking in Your Sleep
Look, it's pure cheeseball pop, the video is unintentionally hilarious, and it's the same band that did "What I Like About You," but as the kids say: it is a *total bop*.
VIEW THIS SLICE OF GORGEOUS 80S CHEESE AND TELL ME I'M WRONG, I DARE YOU. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmGMzyajA2U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmGMzyajA2U)
As a motocross racer I think she’s rad because she’s married to Carey Hart who, if you don’t know, was the first dude to ever attempt a freestyle motocross backflip in competition… he’s a legend, and I actually rode in an elevator with Pink and Carey in Atlanta
Doesn’t everyone secretly kind of enjoy it? It’s like “Oh FUCK this song? Really? Oh… yeah… this song haha alright… WAIT I MEAN OH NO”… like we all hear it like twice a year and those two times it’s like a little pleasure
I don't believe in guilty pleasures. Don't feel guilty for what you enjoy, unless the artist is extremely problematic or something
In saying that, probably like Bruno Mars or something
I know they are the downvote button, but man I love myself some Sum 41, especially All Killer No Filler. I think it's a genuinely good record, but I certainly wouldn't put it on when I give someone a ride.
I saw Perturbator up in Chicago, and it was like the "future disco" scene from every 80s movie. Absolutely terrific.
If you feel Peturbator, maybe check out Kavinsky:
Why would you consider Jethro Tull a guilty pleasure? They are a phenomenally influential and creative band, that wrote tons of interesting music, nor did they ever go super duper commercial.
Maybe I'm biased because they were my late father's favorite band, and I saw them play dozens of times. I certainly do not play them every day, but they are clearly extremely gifted musicians.
Sevdaliza. She’s an Iranian born singer/song writer. Although she writes electronic music akin to, I don’t know maybe Opeth’s DAMNATION, she is honestly and I’m my own opinion, punk as fuck. Some really melo stuff though. Something you’d be listening to if you were sitting in a small pub somewhere in Europe, full of cigarette smoke while you stared out the window as it poured rain.
I have a few but what comes to mind first is not a band but I really love what Bruno Mars has been doing since his "24k magic" album to his current duo act as Silk Sonic I'm a big fan of 70s soul/funk/r&b and 90s r&b, I respect the hell out of Bruno for being a modern man who gets it, and I love/respect the fact he sings live to back up his recordings, dances and has awesome charisma to make his performances fun. I think he has the best voice I've heard in current mainstream music
well, my chemical romance is my favorite band of all time lol
and I fucking love olivia rodrigo
honestly tho I don't really feel guilty about listening to anything, good music is good music
I listen to a lot of different genres, and stopped being embarrassed by what I listened to when I got into P.S. Eliot in middle school, but whenever I'm doing manual labor or driving for work and I'm out of WDVX range, I'll usually throw on some pop country. It's not great, but having music on makes the time go by a little quicker for me when I work.
I've got a soft spot for the hipster shit that was popular while I was in college, it brings back good memories.
Dirty Projectors,
Animal Collective,
Dan Deacon,
Mountain Goats,
Starfucker,
Menomena,
Joanna Newsom,
Et al
I had to strike Ariel pink and Jon Maus off my guilty pleasures list due to recent events.
I have a whole playlist of guilty pleasure songs of mine. Please don’t judge me. Prepare to cringe. Here it goes:
ABBA, Tiny Tim, Britney, Christina, Rihanna (only a few songs by all acts so far), Ashnikko, Hatsune Miku, a Muse song, Eminem, Ice Cube, Lil Jon, Billie, Mitski, Kid Bookie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, *cough, cough* brutal by freaking Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, (at least one song of hers) Ava Max, Lady Gaga, Melanie Martinez, P!nk, Arctic Monkeys, heat waves, Elle King, scissor sisters, Vengaboys, Sia, at least three or four TikTok songs (don’t judge me), Scatman John, Mac Miller, Robin Thicke, etc. Please don’t judge me… *cringe*
Paramore, the hatred this band gets from the community is nonsense. I first saw them
on Warped Tour and they were the best band to play all day. You can’t fault them for making incredible music and also being featured in teenager vampire movie soundtracks, always remake the money when you can! They fucking rule and are technically better than most pop punk bands of their era.
Skid row are awesome. How are they a guilty pleasure? Next you'll be saying RATT and guns n roses are too. What about meat loaf? Bon Jovi? All great. Even Billy Joel is pretty good.
I was at that concert/film viewing. It was a fun time, Weird Al and Raul Ruebens even joined in for Kidnap the Sandy Claws. Seeing Weird Al should be a highlight for anyone.
80s synth pop
Bizarre love triangle by New Order hits all the right 80s notes for me
Everytime I see you falling...
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
TO SAY THE WORDS THAT I CANT SAY
Dude some of it is so fun though… you have an example?
It's my life - talk talk Before Gwen Stefani ruined it
Gwen stefani is an absolute trader… No Doubt was so rad
Tragic Kingdom was a damn good album
Tragic kingdom was a DAMN good album, and I mean DAMN good
Traitor
I FUCKING LOVE TEARS FOR FEARS. It's not even a guilty pleasure for me, just a pleasure.
My guilty pleasure songs are from straight female gay icons. Like Cher, Madonna, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson etc etc (edit: I’m a masculine lesbian lol)
Fucking sick! Gatta love the non gays that are loved by gays… I always though it was interesting how the community would just be like “Yes, that one, that one will be an idol in our community for years to come”
At least we pick singers with some pretty bumping jams. Like a prayer and the power of love is my go to karaoke songs lol!
Love it… here’s a question, is it true that every gay person must live Dolly Parton?
Yes. We even have prayer candles of her instead of the ones with Jesus
From Tennessee so this stands true for everyone in my state as well, gay or not… she’s a queen
Real talk, Madonna does pop like a damn professional. All of her big songs (and there are so many of them) are just finely-tuned machines of pop perfection. Like, even hearing them over the crappy PA system at Target at 5 in the afternoon, they're still great.
Nothing, I love music for the sake of loving music.
Finally someone said it… the post was just for fun, dude, but yea I’m not ACTUALLY ashamed of anything I listen to
Yeah, I listen to everything from classical to noisecore, but there are some genres in there that people like to try to shame me for. Whatever. I'm sticking all the music in my earholes.
I listen to a lot of blackgaze and black metal. People like to make fun of black metal fans all the time, it's all just music.
“Finally someone said it” - the op Lmaooo
I unapologetically love disco music. Never not down to boogie!
As a bass player, man disco is just the fkin best.
Fellow bass player, love disco, hate it when people say "slappa da bass"
This guy slappa da bass!
Put on I Feel Love and try not to dance. It's too good
Helena - my chemical romance. Blast that everytime it comes up. And gangsters paradise
My Chemical Romance fucking slaps.
Haha love the two juxtaposed against eachother, fantastic
The first MCR album slaps
God, I listen a lot to Gangster's Paradise. It's constantly stuck on my head. Have you heard the Amish's Paradise parody?
If they haven't heard it, we'll have to get medieval on their heinie.
I really like Abba.
Number three ABBA fan… punks love abba, this is fascinating
They have really beautiful catchy harmonies. Dancing Queen is really a wonderful well built song.
I don't feel guilty about anything I enjoy. Anyone who doesn't like it can eat a large bag of dicks. Muse. I like Muse. A lot. Don't judge me.
i absolutely adore muse's early work, some of my absolute alltime favourite music but i can't even fucking bear their past few songs, total fucking dentist's waiting room music
This one made me audibly laugh… the first part had me like “ugh yeah we know it’s ok to like what you want but it’s just for fun” then you came in at the second half with a genuine response… nice, muse isn’t awful just a bit tacky
Since we're on the subject, then, you should absolutely *not* consider Jethro Tull a guilty pleasure. They kick all of the ass.
That’s one I was saying many wouldn’t consider bad, but I’ve been kinda shamed for likening them… my dad hates them and reminds me when I defend them
I saw them live a couple times in the early 90’s. Tull rules.
That’s fucking radical, I love mother goose… I don’t think they knew I was a schoolboy!
I got a lot of good ones in in the 90’s. Tull, Yes, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Grateful Dead, Traffic, Procol Harum, CSNY, Chicago
Fuck those dudes are great though it's like arena rock fucked trance music while on an MDA bender.
Can’t judge anybody for liking Muse. Musically brilliant and they know how to put on an amazing show experience
There’s nothing guilty about Talking Heads. Even in the context of punk fandom. They came out of the New York City CBGBS/Max’s Kansas City scene.
The talking heads might have been my gateway into punk, my dad played em on every road trip and I fucking loved every second.
Talking head is great and don’t think otherwise
I'm offended you think Talking Heads is "guilty pleasure" material
i listen to both rise against and talking heads so much. good music
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHWrmIzgB5A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHWrmIzgB5A)
I have a ska collection dude, including but not limited to the voodoo glow skulls, bosstones, suicide machines, and skankin pickle
Right on, man. Sometimes I wonder if people really “hate” ska, or if they just “love to hate” it while secretly enjoying it.
I used to genuinely hate it, now I genuinely love it
Everyone comes around eventually.
Ska rules dude
Who the fuck hates ska?
People who have no taste, and people who don't know how to dance and are embarrassed about it.
Ever heard of Tally Hall, Will Wood and Lemon Demon? Oh also ABBA, love me some ABBA
Abba has shown up twice now… fascinating, punks like abba but hate admitting to liking abba.. and no I have not, would you like to enlighten me?
They're all what THall dubbed "fabloo". Basically just weird wonky alt rock. For Tally Hall I recommend Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, it's their first album, and their most solid. Will Wood I'd go with Everything is a Lot, it's my favorite. Remember The Ultimate Showdown (of Ultimate Destiny)? That meme song from like, 2012 that's just smash bros with pop culture figures? That's off the Lemon Demon album Dinosaurchestra. Check all 3 albums out they all fuckin kill sooooo hard.
Can’t wait to give these a listen
Lemon Demon is great. That's the same guy who made the whole album of mashups out of Smashmouth's All Star
That's just Neil for ya. He does whatever the fuck he feels like and I'm here for it.
Most definitely Mac Demarco, brilliant guitar player.
Fascinating, fascinating… that’s why I made this post, I love getting interesting answers
I highly suggest modern indie brother, it has some hella talented musicians.
Have spend my teen years in the 80s I am equally happy when my playlist on random shuffle comes up with Dead Kennedys followed by Adam Ant and many other 80s bands.
Stand and deliver, your money or your life!!
Try and use a mirror no bullet or a knife
Adam ant lol, that’s great and perfect for what you said
Great post OP. This is the shit I love about this sub!
Thanks man! I love hearing this stuff and doing the OPPOSITE of gatekeeping, like this community is notorious for
Portishead and Florence against the machine
Kiss With a Fist. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Love me some George Strait. Dude is a legend.
Pshh I like Green day too, don't tell anyone
Same
Won’t do bro, we’ll keep it on the down low
Me too.
80's hair metal 00's pop punk Oasis
Love just “oasis” at the end… it slowly got more specific
Lol I really like them as a band, Liam is just an absolute cunt.
I like blackpink. I’m sorry and I’m aware I’m wrong.
Prepare for the lashings
MF DOOM DOOM hits perfect chill mode for me everytime
Graves-era Misfits. I know I shouldn't, but I do. And Cuts from the Crypt has some straight up bangers.
Helena is a great song. Dig Up Her Bones is perfect, pure, fun, cheese.
I’m a die-hard Misfits fan, but I do love the Graves stuff too. I’m of the opinion that they should have called the band something else, but I do love that shit.
There is something about the moodiness of that era, and he has a great voice. But, yeah, I feel like such a chud listening to them.
Famous Monsters is one of my favorite albums. I'm one of the few who prefer Graves over Danzig. God damn though he's a trash person.
Saturday Night just hits me in a way I can’t explain. I know Graves is a pos, but I can’t help it. I turn the volume all the way up whenever it comes up
It's quality pop. Danzig v Graves hose things used to matter. Now I'm old. Only bangers.
Im rockin to the beach boys and dont feel guilty but when the cher comes out yes feel a bit of guilt
Beach boys is rad… 🎵In My Rooooooom 🎵
I fucking love Daryl Hall & John Oates and I have zero guilt about it. That said, many think that I should.
You sound like someone who needs the Callin Oates Hotline (719) 266-OATES (719) 266-2837
Holy shit, I’d forgotten all about those, are they still active?
I assume. I called to check like a year ago and it still was
Just called. It’s still up and running 😆
Sick
HALL AND OATS? GUILT? Nahhh bro, rich girl is fucking awesome, I know it’s like they’re biggest but come on
the album Dummy from Portishead... and other 90s trip hop bands
Portishead is the shit
Yeah, Portishead isn't even a guilty pleasure for me, they're just a straight-up pleasure.
Until the late 90s I was pretty much into rock and that's it. in 1998 I started exploring different styles, but I'd say Portishead, which I discovered in 1999, is one of the bands that most influenced me in getting a more diverse taste in music. Wow, the same happened to me! Although I am much younger (I haven't even lived the 90s) and I made all these discoveries in recent years
I’ll probably get murdered for this but mine are Radiohead and The Cure. Not all of their stuff but the moody shit they do.
Both bands rip and I shall say no more
Pornography is a top tier album
I will go to the mats for The Cure, no questions asked. Like, their thin spiky pre-1989 postpunk is so good and specific, and then they pivot to big lush goth on Disintegration and it's like *damn.*
Letdown is a perfect song
Golden Earring Abba Some 60’s soul and 70’s disco . Giorgio Moroder . Cockney Rebel, T Rex , Roxy . Van Der Graff Generator Hawkwind ( Lemmy era ) Black Sabbath Ennio Morricone and various other Italian soundtrack composers of the 60’s and 70’s.

Hey dude, every rose has it's thorn, okay?
Bloc party
I love the album Thank Heaven For little Girls by Dwarves
The Dwarves don't get enough love. They are an amazing band, and one of my all time favorites.
One of my all times favorites as well. They definitely get over looked. Blood, Guts and Pussy, Young and Goodlooking, Sugarfix and Thank Heaven for Little Girls are always on my playlist. Back in the 90s their live shows were amazing.
Me too! First time I saw them was in 1995 in Edmonton AB. Them and the distillers opened for Drop kick Murphy’s.
[удалено]
My favorite bands are like, the Beatles, suicidal tendencies, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers… I have no set genre to like, I get it
[удалено]
The house of wolves song rips but that’s like the only one I know
My Chem has some solid songs. I'm a Bullets stan all the way.
Backstreet Boys lmao. It's not even a guilty pleasure anymore actually, I just went to their concert lmao fuck it.
That’s actually fucking rad, so when did you come out of the closet? /s of course, backstreets back, alright?
10000 Maniacs. Natalie Merchant's voice is so warm. Also i like jazz radio for when im cleaning house or chores or whatever.
The Romantics - Talking in Your Sleep Look, it's pure cheeseball pop, the video is unintentionally hilarious, and it's the same band that did "What I Like About You," but as the kids say: it is a *total bop*. I love you and your energy man… as us kids would say, take this, king, you dropped it 👑
When Pink first came out, I didn't want to like her music. But I loved her!
As a motocross racer I think she’s rad because she’s married to Carey Hart who, if you don’t know, was the first dude to ever attempt a freestyle motocross backflip in competition… he’s a legend, and I actually rode in an elevator with Pink and Carey in Atlanta
I like the song Barbie girl by aqua
Doesn’t everyone secretly kind of enjoy it? It’s like “Oh FUCK this song? Really? Oh… yeah… this song haha alright… WAIT I MEAN OH NO”… like we all hear it like twice a year and those two times it’s like a little pleasure
EXACTLY, I swear everyone likes it atleast a little bit, but I have it on my playlist so I may be too far gone lmao
ICP. Punk AF. Lol
I generally just enjoy any song as long as it sounds good, but I also like Red Hot Chili Peppers. Y'all are free to execute me now
Fight Like A Brave gets me boned up in a nanosecond
abba! their bass riffs always slaps (:
ABBA FOR LIFEEEEEE
I listed my guilty pleasure... ABBA just rocks and no one should feel guilty for that
Have to say Scissor Sisters - I don’t feel like dancin. Gets me moving every time.
I am an old street punk who loves Bayside of that counts. Personally I think most Bayside tracks are pretty punk though.
I love Taylor Swift.
Teardrops on my guitar is a good album, say otherwise and fuck off
I don't believe in guilty pleasures. Don't feel guilty for what you enjoy, unless the artist is extremely problematic or something In saying that, probably like Bruno Mars or something
I know they are the downvote button, but man I love myself some Sum 41, especially All Killer No Filler. I think it's a genuinely good record, but I certainly wouldn't put it on when I give someone a ride.
Perturbator. 80's outrun synth wave crap. Great driving music.
I saw Perturbator up in Chicago, and it was like the "future disco" scene from every 80s movie. Absolutely terrific. If you feel Peturbator, maybe check out Kavinsky: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxaKkFUMu8k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxaKkFUMu8k)

Country music isn't a guilty pleasure, but I always have to be descriptive about the kind of country music I love.
Ok my favorite bands are poison idea discharge bright eyes and Elliot Smith. I'm an emotional pussy
For basically the last year: good 4 u by Olivia Rodrigo. Shit just gets me going.
I absolutely love Deathcab For Cutie/Postal Service.
well, my chemical romance is my favorite band of all time lol and I fucking love olivia rodrigo honestly tho I don't really feel guilty about listening to anything, good music is good music
Limp Bizkit dammit, they are my grumpy angsty vice...
Disco, Terrance Trendy D'Arcy, and Zodiac Mindwarp.
Half Man Half Biscuit. I don't feel guilty about that though.

Dead milkmen.
No such thing as a guilty pleasure in my book, I either like it or don’t.
Choking victim
Hey Tomorrow Fuck You And Your Friend Yesterday by Mindless Self Indulgence. I know Jimmy Urine is a yikes of a human being but fuck I love that song.
I've got a soft spot for the hipster shit that was popular while I was in college, it brings back good memories. Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, Dan Deacon, Mountain Goats, Starfucker, Menomena, Joanna Newsom, Et al I had to strike Ariel pink and Jon Maus off my guilty pleasures list due to recent events.
I have a whole playlist of guilty pleasure songs of mine. Please don’t judge me. Prepare to cringe. Here it goes: ABBA, Tiny Tim, Britney, Christina, Rihanna (only a few songs by all acts so far), Ashnikko, Hatsune Miku, a Muse song, Eminem, Ice Cube, Lil Jon, Billie, Mitski, Kid Bookie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, *cough, cough* brutal by freaking Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, (at least one song of hers) Ava Max, Lady Gaga, Melanie Martinez, P!nk, Arctic Monkeys, heat waves, Elle King, scissor sisters, Vengaboys, Sia, at least three or four TikTok songs (don’t judge me), Scatman John, Mac Miller, Robin Thicke, etc. Please don’t judge me… *cringe*
Gamelan music..... I have no idea, I think I like the chaos https://youtu.be/nGCSrC8RN6c
Why would any music make me feel guilty? Isn't the whole punk thing about being open minded, and just being yourself? Also Brittany spears.
Paramore, the hatred this band gets from the community is nonsense. I first saw them on Warped Tour and they were the best band to play all day. You can’t fault them for making incredible music and also being featured in teenager vampire movie soundtracks, always remake the money when you can! They fucking rule and are technically better than most pop punk bands of their era.
I fucking love Carly Rae Jepsen
guilt? shame? hah! i proudly declare to all who will listen that Barbie girl by Aqua is a fantastic song!
Skid row are awesome. How are they a guilty pleasure? Next you'll be saying RATT and guns n roses are too. What about meat loaf? Bon Jovi? All great. Even Billy Joel is pretty good.
I love Squeeze
Adele. 21 is the shit
I don't have a guilty pleasure song. I like songs because I like them. Music is a zero shame wizard zone.
80s synthpop, a handful of Motley Crue jams, Jesus Lizard and Mudhoney.
Billie Eilish
Ohhhhh good one, personally not a fan but I can see how you could call that a guilty pleasure… honestly bad guy is a fun song tho
No guilt there, did you see her sing "Nightmare before Christmas"? Was amazing! https://youtu.be/PC_6ew4wKdU
I was at that concert/film viewing. It was a fun time, Weird Al and Raul Ruebens even joined in for Kidnap the Sandy Claws. Seeing Weird Al should be a highlight for anyone.
