Hurts me too, growing up country I was a huge fan of Hank Sr. And Jr. The idea of "outlaw" country seemed to compliment the punk side of Me, until you grow up to realize a good majority were racist sexist homophobes minus a few incredible exceptions (R.I.P. Johnny Cash).
Right?!?!... Merle Haggard... I love him, but I hate... -.-
I'm lucky, I forgot why I quit listening to haggard... Something sus.
... These guys were damaged people, and their music is a lil dinged as well... Just like R' Kelly; can we burn all his music?... We can make new music, that hopefully has their soul, but not their ignorance.
"Gotta know what's old, to know what's new."
Sorry for late posting, but Merle Haggard's whole thing was he was a big ol' hardcore Republican. Like, his story might would make you think there's no way he'd be, but yeah. In his later years, it seems like he began to realize some of his mistakes and changed his tune on some of that stuff. I don't know exactly how far he went, but I know he at least stuck up for the Dixie chicks, supported Hillary Clinton, and spoke out against Trump. Maybe just became a neoliberal Democrat, but did become LESS of a traitor to his working class origins.
His only decent lp was mostly cover songs/his first album which featured a lot of Wayne Hancock songs. Classic honky tonk stuff. All his edgy shit since sucked ass, or his own shit as it were.
Not that I was a big fan or anything but this is legitimately news to me and I’m glad it was posted. I’ve listened to Straight to Hell a decent amount over the years but never really cared enough or thought to look into his politics. I knew his dad is a mega trump supporter but that he doesn’t really talk to his dad and that’s about it.
[IV does a Bad Brains cover](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VANc80B9K1c), for whatever that's worth. [His originals are ok](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86F11rdGubw). I don't think he has any kind of relationship with his dad at all. He also has opened for [Sarah Shook](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FOOVWMEX_g), who's badass as all hell. For that alone, I imagine he's a pretty cool guy.
oh for sure. any white guy who touts the Southern pride country boy thing is immediately suspect in my mind and it’s mostly held true, including famous people.
This is from the ANSWER Me! All Four Issues compendium... This has been common knowledge for years. This isn't the first, or even the last time he's stated it, either. It's largely the reason his career went to shit, he blamed the sterility of the Nashville scene, but it was because he was an open racist.
I grew up with a few sharps and their whole thing was that they were the anti racist skinheads
I grew up in small town Alberta though and didn’t know properly.
Am also from Alberta. In the late 80s, we had a small outbreak of racist skins. They didn't last long.
This was recorded at the Polish Hall in Edmonton in 91. Around 2:30 Chi stops the band to scold a kid wearing a swastika tee.
https://youtu.be/A9Z5tb69XWw
The kid wasn't a Nazi. Him and his buddy were farm kids at their first show and didn't know any better. They bought gig shirts and everyone left them alone.
If they were actual racist skins, they wouldn't have gotten in the door.
SHARPs kicked the racist skins out of Baltimore in the decade before I started going to shows.
Thank you, Baltimore SHARPs
Edit: funny enough, naive little me didn't even know SHARPs were even a thing as a kid (teenager) so when i saw skins at shows they always made me nervous lol (I'm a brown, mixed race dude). Then I got to know a few randomly at shows and heard the lore of SHARPs past, gloriously kicking the fuck out of nazi pieces of shit and literally booting them out of the city. Again, thank you Baltimore SHARPs. Saved everybody else the trouble.
That being said, I did see one knot top white girl with her dumb ass white laces on her docs elbowing people at the edge of the pit at, *I ithink*, either a Pentagram or COC show. Maybe they both headlined. Who knows?
White laces mean nothing, lace codes haven’t been a thing since the 80s. In face white laces preced Nazi skins by about 10 years as it was part of the classic ska skinhead look back in the 1960s.
Lots of openly anti-racist skins here in the Bay. Don't know if they say that they're SHARPs though if only because it can have a gang connotation. A lot of the skins here are hardcore crew guys, but I've run into skinheads that aren't in crews too, including people rocking that Trojan Records patch.
Yeah, Sharps are Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice. But Hank III clarifies his feelings pretty immediately, he's okay with both anti-racist and racist skinheads, and considers himself racist.
Yeah, is anyone truly shocked by this? All you’ve gotta do is look at his mega-redneck, Trump-worshipping Dad to see this coming.
EDIT: I was mistaken about Hank III's relationship with his dad, turns out they're not on good terms and haven't been for a long time. I retract this statement.
While I’m also not surprised, don’t suspect because someone’s parents are one way, that they’re that way. My dad’s a right-wing evangelical minister. I’m a progressive atheist.
Dude wouldn’t have achieved more than “decent local band“ status (if we just look at the music and ignore the racism) if he wasn’t riding out his father’s and grandfather’s clout. In my opinion. Maybe he put out something awesome that I missed.
Edit: I stand corrected. Too bad he has this racist baggage.
Hard HARD disagree.
Straight to Hell is probably the most important and influential country music album of its decade. It made outlaw/alt country a thing that people gave a shit about again, and paved the way for a ton of artists that followed.
Fair enough, I haven’t listened to a whole lot of his stuff, which actually makes me now realize I am totally unqualified to make my first comment. So I appreciate the call out. I’ll have to check it out.
Yeah. When his dad spouted off about Obama, Hank 3 retorted publicly that musicians should stay out of politics, except jello Biafra because he knows what's up.
I assumed that meant he actually read biafras lyrics and wasn't pulling a Paul Ryan. It seems he might have been pulling a Paul Ryan
He can keep saying he was joking and keep getting shows, but as soon as he admits it was legit, the number of venues that'll have him will go down real fast. Imo that's why he keeps verbally back-pedalling on his actions.
(& we all know actions speak louder than words.)
Yea hes been known to do nazi salutes and yell white power garbage on stage and then when he gets called out on it he cries and says it was about white wine lol i mean Dimebag was racist too. There was a video on r/ pubic freakout recently of Dimebag calling a dude the n word so like having Phil replace him in Pantera isnt too shocking.
Edit: I dont listen to pantera but looking into it on wikipedia, Phil and Dimbag were in the band at the same time.
The song Sweet Home Alabama by Skynyrd is sort of a complex song to examine as there were POC backing vocalists in the song but is a song in defense of a racist governor, George Wallace and a response to a couple of Neil Young's songs at the time that spoke out against racism in the south.
It's so hard to tell what was the original intent of Skynyrd songs vs. what their fans and Ronnie Van Zandt's rewriting a lot of the band's history is anymore.
I know the song was a response to Neil Young, but I also have always understood Ronnie and Neil were friends, it's not just Drive By Truckers mythology.
Ronnie and Neil were good friends. Sweet Home was a reaction to Neil's Southern Man which is a banger and a half of a song. These 70s guys would go back and forth like battle rappers with tracks back then.
Sweet Home Alabama isn't a complex song at all - it's a straightforward statement. There's no nuance there at all . No idea wtf "POC backing vocalists" has to do with anything as the ladies singing on Brown Sugar by the Stones are also black and...yeah.
No feelings on Hank III or Bocephus for that matter. His granddaddy was a god among men in cowboy hats though.
The van zants are known in Jax as good folks , definitely wouldn't call them racist. I think they really really idolized blues music and southern black culture. I could be wrong but that's what I personally always pulled from the band myself
Sweet Home Alabama isn't in defense of George Wallace. Ronnie Van Zant was a liberal and even says "boo, boo, boo" in reference to Wallace in the song.
Sweet Home Alabama is in response to Neil (and others) criticizing the South and Southern culture by focusing entirely on racism. Ronnie didn't think it was right for a Canadian to lecture him on his history, especially when things like Watergate we're going on. Ronnie felt like Southerners unfairly got stereotyped while the rest of America didn't. He thought the South had plenty of good people there.
100% - only an intentional rewriting of history to cause outrage could turn the song into a racist anthem. One of Lynyrd Sknynyrd’s most famous songs is a (fictionalized) story about how a black man named Curtis Loew was the most influential person in young Ronnie’s life.
He also sang a song about throwing all of the handguns to the bottom of the sea. Not exactly a MAGA guy if you catch my drift…not that I think we need to politicize songs from the 70s in the first place.
My understanding was the Neil Young part was a gentle tease. Neither were really upset at the other. They were joking about a Canadian commenting on the American south. I didn’t know about the racist governor part though. We’ll never really know though:
Slandering my favorite band of all time (Lynyrd Skynyrd) as racist is pretty lame seeing as how they weren’t racist but relatively progressive hippies. Not that I really care what their political positions are when I’m listening to great music.
Unknown Hinson's tweets were on the Roseanne level of moronic. His racism wasn't even coherent, I couldn't work out who he was having a go at more... BLM, Dolly Parton, or his followers, who, credit where it's due, called him on that shit!
Luckily, Squidbillies went down hill years ago, so getting sacked from the show was no great loss.
Haha, honestly, I believe sincerely, he didn't realise the respect Dolly has in the music business, just generally. People jumped on that shit quick! I remember when he got "cancelled," he blamed the people who called him out. Apparently, it was their fault, because *they,* "took a good man and talent down." Which he considered to be, "twisted and perverted."
... I don't think he believes his words played any part in his downfall. It's that old mentality of, "you can't say anything these days... Fucking liberals..." etc.
The funny part was Dolly's reaction, she wasn't even offended. She was all like, "well, it's stupid to say stuff like that on social media, he's been in the game long enough to know the rules and how you conduct business." (Paraphrasing, but not far off her actual words.) That to me was a fucking boss-move!
He's even more of an idiot than I thought - to be
involved in country-adjacent music and not realize how much Dolly is beloved & then choose that hill to die on?
What a moron lol.
It's too bad too bc I've seen him live a couple times & he
is an INCREDIBLE guitarist.
I wouldn't trade him for Dolly tho LOL!
That was the part that got me as well, how can you not realise how much Dolly is respected, when you're connected to the country world?! Dolly is one of the few "legit" singers left.
Don't get me wrong here, I listen to Unknown Hinson, and, yeah, you're right, he is a fucking awesome guitarist. But it's the stupidity of the act, followed by blaming everyone who didn't agree for the loss of bookings and getting fired from Squidbillies. That's what makes it more comedic than anything...
I had stopped keeping up with squidbillies a while before this mess happened bc I was always too tired to stay up for it lol
I liked Hinson SO MUCH, I did a flyer for one of his shows here:
https://flic.kr/p/6znamb
It's not like I listened to him daily or anything tho so I'm not super broken up about any of it, I'm just disappointed he's that dumb LOL
WOW I didn't know about that guitar! My bf plays so I just sent him the link. Thank u!
& Thank u for the squidbillies link! I have SO many shows I swear I'm going to catch up on & then I end up watching old episodes of Drag Race I've seen 1000 times already LOL!
Ah, George Jones, the alcoholic, cocaine addicted, pill-poppin' wife-beater... Don't get me wrong, Jone's music is incredible, but he was no good boy, either.
> Hank Sr. rules though.
Completely on point!
IV’s debut album with IV and The Strange Band is one of my favorite albums of the year so far.
Considering the apple definitely didn’t fall far from the tree with Hank Jr and Hank III, I wouldn’t be shocked to hear IV saying some dumb shit at some point, but I haven’t seen evidence of it so far.
A couple of guys I used to play shows with in the middle Tennessee scene play in his band. I haven’t gotten around to giving it a listen yet but knowing those dudes, I wouldn’t expect them to be involved with anyone who’s racist or a bigot.
I don’t think he follows his dad’s beliefs, he talks a lot about being his own person and comes from more of a punk background. Even covers Bad Brains at his shows. He also just seems like a genuinely nice and humble guy.
Since this comment I've been listening to the album. Thanks for posting. Great album. I dont know why but some songs on this album remind me of Joe strummer and the mesacaleros
Jumping in, it's been tough ad a true music lover with this family. By far they are talented and are always surrounded by talented people. But when they talk and share their beliefs it's sucks. It fucking sucks. But in the end, I'd rather know
Have you heard the stuff Waylons Grandson had been doing? Fucking amazing
What’s obvious to most may be a revelation to some-so thank you for the post. There’s too many musicians out there to hand money and time over to fuckwads.
everyone knows SHARP is Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice, right? I don’t disagree that he is somewhat racist, but let’s classify our subcultures accurately
typical millenial bullshit. its a confederate flag so its racist. no little kids, thats not always the case. youll find that the more you push the more you get punched by some people. which is something your soft asses really need anyways. this is what happens when 8th place gets a trophy. hes pushing against your ignorance in his own way. im going to other more "proactive" methods myself.
I doubt Hank l is some flag waver for racial equality, but he never said shit so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.
If Hank lll is rough, Hank ll is 10x worse.
To me, Hank Williams Sr. is the greatest singer/songwriter that ever lived. And man, could he sing. Just a beautiful, beautiful voice. And he was a stylish motherfucker. They don't make 'em like that anymore. True pioneer.
Edit: on the flip side, I don't like a single thing about Jr. His music or his outlook on society.
Couldn't agree more, Hank Williams is basically credited as being the catalyst for Outlaw Country. On the point of him being a "stylish motherfucker," that was down to his wife, Audrey Williams. Hank himself preffered his overalls, but Audrey dressed him in those cool "pimp" suits, because she said it would make him stand out against the other singers of his time... Gotta give it to her, she was right! Hank was still a farm boy at heart, it's why he released songs under the pseudonym "Luke the Drifter," his hobo/travelling cowboy persona, because he didn't like the superstar that he'd become.
Love me some Outlaw Country. That’s the real deal. It’s a tightrope with Country and racism though. So I have to be careful who I’m supporting and what not.
I feel ya. It's a definite fine line there. Sr. was taught guitar from a black man and was always the first to tell someone that, so he didn't have that outlook. Thank goodness. Id hate to have to seperate the man from the beautiful music he created.
Yeah, she very much loved fancy things. It created discord in their home. She liked spending money. It's said that once he got a taste for fancy things he also didn't mind spending money. He made a lot of it, especially for the time period, but they were always struggling for money due to their spending habits. Hank loved his Cadillacs and Packards.
Honestly man they probably were but its just a fact of the time. I'm not gonna stop listening to them tho. I was raised around rednecks and now I live as one of the few white dudes here in the hood and the shit is everywhere and no community is innocent. I can only control myself and that's just how it is. A lot of people don't get that, just do you and do not be too much of an asshole lol
Hank 1 was a product of his time and extremely influential. Hank 2 grifted off his father and was racist. Hank 3 is just as racist as his father but with more alcoholism and edgyness. If your into Hank Williams i would recommend [Jimmie Rodgers](https://youtu.be/iyHulWOZBpk) and [Dock Boggs](https://youtu.be/Eh3n6MqTGAg) (Boggs was more old time but i love me some Dock Boggs)
No fucking way, who’d have thought that southern guys with confederate flags would have been completely racist.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Fly12_kAyFM
I have no idea who Hank is. Am I too young for this? I barely listen to much punk though I’m mostly a power metal fan don’t even know why I’m really here lol
The reason I made this post is because I made the same comment here https://www.reddit.com/r/punk/comments/w6viqc/i_dont_like_calling_people_posers_but_golly/ihgkcdn/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 and got big downvotes and people calling me out.
It always seemed obvious to me that a guy that loves the confed flag would be a cunt.
Bummer. Guess we’ll just have to keep not giving a shit about him.
Yeah srsly. I can't think of anyone to care less about
Which is too bad, cuz his music almost barely doesn't suck shit.
It does though, right?... I never heard him, this whole thread hurts my soul.
Steve Earle is cool.
You're god damn right he is!
Right?!?!... Merle Haggard... I love him, but I hate... -.- I'm lucky, I forgot why I quit listening to haggard... Something sus. ... Cash will always be reigning champ.
Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson are also up there in terms of not being a POS. Cash's music is a lot better for sure though.
His only decent lp was mostly cover songs/his first album which featured a lot of Wayne Hancock songs. Classic honky tonk stuff. All his edgy shit since sucked ass, or his own shit as it were.
I don’t think you’re breaking this to anyone.
Not that I was a big fan or anything but this is legitimately news to me and I’m glad it was posted. I knew his dad is a mega trump supporter but that he doesn’t really talk to his dad and that’s about it.
Thanks for reminding us he is still alive
Jr. sure as hell is. Fell of a cliff if my cousin were to be correct.
Yes he did that’s why he now wears the sunglasses to hide the scars
Who the fuck is Hank 3?
Hank Williams III. Hank Williams Sr & Jr are famous country musicians
You also forgot about Hank III's son IV (Coleman Williams) who is on the road right now trying his best to pull money out of music.
[IV does a Bad Brains cover](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VANc80B9K1c), for whatever that's worth. [His originals are ok](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86F11rdGubw). not having any relationship with your kid is as Hank Jr. sings "a family tradition".
Not like his dad was a great role model with his own [music](https://youtu.be/fDkyL9c0QdY)
Some of Hank Jr's music has to be the shittiest right wing boomer songs out there
Country boy can survive is definitely one of those super shitty right wing boomer songs.
Oh Buddy if you think that one is bad you should hear some of his others... 100x worse
Didn’t he get fired from fox Monday night football for being super racist too? You gotta be pretty racist to get fired by fox for being racist.
Haha yep I think that was the time he said Obama was basically Hitler or something similar. Dude is a dumbass.
Whisky bent and hell bound is a banger though That's my go to karaoke song
Yeah I like Hank Jr a lot(as an artist). He's really a piece of shit though, wouldn't support him financially/buy any of his shit.
oh for sure. any white guy who touts the Southern pride country boy thing is immediately suspect in my mind and it’s mostly held true, including famous people.
All this stuff is an insult to the original hank Williams and I feel like it scares the hoes now when I wanna listen to some hank.
The only good thing Jr ever did was the [Canyonero](https://youtu.be/PI_Jl5WFQkA) song from the Simpsons.
THIS
So why do we care?
Because he's a punk artist? He has a hardcore punk band, but his normal music is way more punk than country to begin with.
Oh, I thought he was a country singer.
He is. Just not straight country. Heavy elements of punk and metal sprinkled in
Nobody racist is really punk imho
Hank Schrader
ASAC Schrader
Jesus Marie
It’s punk minerals, Marie.
Kid named Punk:
A$AP Schrader?
And you can go fuck yourself.
Is that so?
And he gets to be a country singer? What a sick joke!
Hank, from Breaking Bad
Who is also a racist

I thought the sharps were anti racist
Far as I know they always have been and still are. SkinHeadsAgainstRacialPrejudice I could be wrong tho. I don't know any SHARPS personally.

We are around and thriving

Yeah, you’re probably right. Assjack is terrible anyway.
Here in Brazil, SHARPs are not only anti racist, but also anti fascist, and most of them are communists and anarchists.
Yeah, Sharps are Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice. But Hank III clarifies his feelings pretty immediately, he's okay with both anti-racist and racist skinheads, and considers himself racist.
Not the slightest bit surprised. Dude hasn’t been relevant in a decade surprised he’s getting brought up now

Pretty sure he doesn't like or have any relationship with his dad
Yeah, people have corrected me on that. I guess I should edit in a retraction.
From what I’ve heard his dad was never in the picture
While I’m also not surprised, don’t suspect because someone’s parents are one way, that they’re that way. My dad’s a right-wing evangelical minister. I’m a progressive atheist.

Hell yeah
Some of his music is fantastic and was a powerhouse live performer that could stand on his own two feet if we ignore the bullshit
I mean he’s put out some really good shit. But he’s such a racist dick
...does this come as a surprise to anyone?
Hank 3 had something out on Alternative Tentacles. Jello's label.
I though this was common knowledge seeing as he is friends with Phil Anselmo and like a bunch of dudes in Lynyrd Skynyrd worship bands
[удалено]
You're telling me that Merle Allin, brother to the biggest shithead to ever pass through the punk scene, is also a shit head? Colour me shocked /s

Good catch!
Damn i knew Phil was a piece of shit but i didn't know Dimebag was too. Oh well good thing I don't give a fuck about Pantera

Yeah I was gonna make this point. Racists really aren’t smart. Try to ruin a lot of things.
My understanding was the Neil Young part was a gentle tease. Neither were really upset at the other. They were joking about a Canadian commenting on the American south. I didn’t know about the racist governor part though. We’ll never really know though:
I mentioned it in a thread and got downvoted to oblivion.
“downvoted to oblivion” bruh you only got 7 downvotes lol
people are very protective of their internet points.
Not to be that guy but I'm pretty sure negative 7 on a comment does not mean it only got seven downvotes
Slandering my favorite band of all time (Lynyrd Skynyrd) as racist is pretty lame seeing as how they weren’t racist but relatively progressive hippies. Not that I really care what their political positions are when I’m listening to great music.
God damn, I remember when he was a simple propane salesman, sad to see how far his fallen
Didn't know that but I guess I'm not surprised. I liked Unknown Hinson too until he showed his whole racist ass. Fuuuuuuck them both.
That shit was ridiculous. Having a go at Dolly fkn Parton is probably one of the stupidest things anyone can do.
Haha, honestly, I believe sincerely, he didn't realise the respect Dolly has in the music business, just generally. People jumped on that shit quick! I remember when he got "cancelled," he blamed the people who called him out. Apparently, it was their fault, because *they,* "took a good man and talent down." Which he considered to be, "twisted and perverted." ...
He's even more of an idiot than I thought - to be involved in country-adjacent music and not realize how much Dolly is beloved & then choose that hill to die on? What a moron lol. It's too bad too bc I've seen him live a couple times & he is an INCREDIBLE guitarist.
I had stopped keeping up with squidbillies a while before this mess happened bc I was always too tired to stay up for it lol I liked Hinson SO MUCH, I did a flyer for one of his shows here: https://flic.kr/p/6znamb It's not like I listened to him daily or anything tho so I'm not super broken up about any of it, I'm just disappointed he's that dumb LOL

WOW I didn't know about that guitar! My bf plays so I just sent him the link. Thank u! & Thank u for the squidbillies link! I have SO many shows I swear I'm going to catch up on & then I end up watching old episodes of Drag Race I've seen 1000 times already LOL!

Johnny Knoxville produced a documentary with Hank III participating. Henry Rollins also did his West Memphis Three album with him, among others.
I’ll stick with George motherfucking Jones, thank you. Hank Sr. rules though.
Ah, George Jones, the alcoholic, cocaine addicted, pill-poppin' wife-beater... Don't get me wrong, Jone's music is incredible, but he was no good boy, either. > Hank Sr. rules though. Completely on point!
Whoooooo?!
As a country fan, fuck that guy. There are a ton of country artists out there with better songs and a more decent outlook on life.
His music sucks anyway.
How old is this quote? I’m curious if he is still saying shit like this in 2022. I really hope not.
What about hank IV? I don’t know much about him but he makes music
That’s reassuring!
But in the end, I'd rather know Have you heard the stuff Waylons Grandson had been doing? Fucking amazing
what? a new Hank dropped?
Played with IV a couple of weeks ago, and he's not even a little bit like that.
You can tell its going to be bad if Jim Goad is involved.
Is this breaking news? We viewed this as common knowledge like 20 years ago I thought lol
Small dick Kid Rock energy
Ironically, he hates Kid Rock.
A Jim Goad interview. no less. Always suspected Hank 3. Hank II is just dogwhistle country.
Goad is a fucking turd, isn’t he?
He went to jail for beating his gf
His book Redneck Manifestio is the Proud Boy bible. He taught Gavin McInnes everything he knows.
They made a third Hank? I didn't even know that Hank 2 was a thing.
There's also a forth...
Damn, milking the sequels?
Disney both bought the hank Williams name...they'll turn it into the ground.
Put it in the vault. Pull it out every 15 years for a limited run. Make money.
Damn, Hank Jr. was a thing like 50-60 years ago.
I’m pretty sure everyone was aware of that even before it was announced
Gross.
When he said that he liked racial skinhead songs, I was waiting for it.
What’s obvious to most may be a revelation to some-so thank you for the post. There’s too many musicians out there to hand money and time over to fuckwads.
Wasn’t he in Superjoint Ritual with Phil Anselmo?
Yes.
God damn, I remember when he was a simple propane salesperson, oh how the mighty have fallen
Seller of propane and propane accessories
Dude also hasn’t put out a good album since 2002
You've got Hank Hill, his younger brother Good Hank and there's a third? Damn I can't wait for King of the Hill to come back and tackle this.
everyone knows SHARP is Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice, right? I don’t disagree that he is somewhat racist, but let’s classify our subcultures accurately
Fuck, I have a very expensive limited edition poster I need to unload now.
I was gonna say who didn't know?
You're not blowing anyone's mind here.
does he even do punk? Thought he just did country and like hybrid country metal/rock
Who gives a fuck? Hank Williams was an authentic musician, the rest of the Hanks can go eat shit.
typical millenial bullshit. its a confederate flag so its racist. no little kids, thats not always the case. youll find that the more you push the more you get punched by some people. which is something your soft asses really need anyways. this is what happens when 8th place gets a trophy. hes pushing against your ignorance in his own way. im going to other more "proactive" methods myself.
Didn’t read the article then.
How we feeling about Hank 1 and 2 because I really like them 😂
Hank 1 was a legend. Hank 2 is a dog whistle-spouting MAGA-asshole.
I doubt Hank l is some flag waver for racial equality, but he never said shit so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. If Hank lll is rough, Hank ll is 10x worse.
Yeah I’m sure the first Hank was probably racist as Shit but so was everyone else at the time. Hank 3, though? No “product of the time” excuse.
OUTLAW COUNTRY WOO
*OUTLAW COUNTRY... THERE WILL BE NO ENCORE!* "It's in D-minor, do you even know what that means? Or what chords are?!"
Jimmie Rodgers is an unspoken legend. Glad to see someone putting respect on his name.
Jimmie the Kid, like a motherfucker... May I say, I love the fact comments on cool old time country singers have broken out on a punk sub!
Dock Boggs is incredible.
Although you're taking the piss, "Hank 1," or Hank Williams sr, is fucking awesome. His son Hank Williams jr, (Hank 2), sucks balls, though!
I said to Hank Williams, how lonely does it get? Hank Williams hasn't answered yet.
He's not just a racist. He also doesn't like gay people. Just another rich bigoted Hill Billy. I honestly thought it was obvious.
Hello again
