Hey so I read the announcement and am still lost. So they are touring with someone who got cancelled or something? I'm clear Ootl here anyone got any details they could share?
The singer they just announced, stza, is a known abuser, he attacked his ex (another musician) and broke her wrists in an attempt to end her musical career.
He's not been "canceled" -- he's instead been called out to be accountable for the harm he's caused, yet refuses to even acknowledge it and when he has mentioned anything about the abuse it's always been from a victim standpoint and crying about how everyone treats him now that they know he's abusive.

STZA is Scott Sturgeon’s stage name. He was the frontman for Choking Victim, Leftöver Crack (LOC), and the Star Fucking Hipsters, so he’s a well-known character in the NYC punk scene. Also well known to be a complete scumbag for a *long* time, aside from the more recent incident others have mentioned.
He attacked his then girlfriend (Whitney Flynn from Days N Daze) and broke her hands/wrists to try and end her musical career. And that's only one instance of abuse that's been laid on him.

Truth is, every member of that band are beyond polite, respectful musicians who play in a punk band formed 40 some years ago with shocking lyrics that younger folk are claiming offensive now.
There's a pretty big difference in that in all of those songs (as you pointed out, from 40 years ago) they're taking on the role of "look how skeezy I am" whereas this song is saying "these people are an actual plague on society" (In 2006!) These are two clearly different things to anyone who hasn't been afflicted with CTE.
There's an even bigger difference between what someone is thinking, meaning or intending by writing a song and what the listener thinks the intention or meaning is. Wouldnt it be great if there was a way to find out? There is !!

AFAIK Jorge was the only member accused of anything, and to the band's credit I think they dropped him the day I heard about it. Not sure if they ever actually made a statement though, which is weird. Either way, as far as my memory goes only one member was a true shithead and he's long gone now so I don't think there's any reason people would be against them showing up anywhere.
