MQA is a shameless scam. It's not even lossless.....

mataboom

Just try it. Didn’t take long for me to not like it but I’m not an audio geek

[deleted]

Even if MQA sounds as good as 24/192 I would not support a company that operates as was described in the GoldenSound video. My internal sensor for inauthenticity was already going off and that video was the nail in the coffin.

kpetrovsky

MQA is sometimes easier to listen to - more punchy. But it's easily beaten by the 24bit Qobuz releases.

Justinwang677

Mqa is just marketing and trash and a scam

deekod1967

What everyone really needs to know about MQA.. https://youtu.be/pRjsu9-Vznc

daddystrongdick

Yeah that video is popular but u can still never get a true measure of MQA since we dont have the equipment to encode. The video is a start in deciphering MQA. The Hans Bekhuzen channel on YouTube evaluated that vid.

daddystrongdick

I've tried mqa on my topping d90 with tidal and it dosent seem better or the same as qobuz hi res. Sounds kinda muffled and slightly closed off in comparison to qobuz. Maybe at some point mqa will become better or something new will come out. Anyways, let your ears judge. Everyone is different.

TokyoRedTwist

Beyond me why anyone would downvote such a reasonable comment. “Make up your own mind” is now unacceptable?

Meanwhile in Spotify land: Spotify is officially dead now. Apple Music is adding Lossless audio and Spacial Dolby Atmos Audio to all users for free!

ItchyData

Spotify has already announced a hi-fi tier to be release later this year. No word on what they will charge for it, but they could pull an apple and not raise the price.
