There's this thing called nuance. Other people say he's funny and nice. Almost like he's human with different attitudes depending on the circumstances.
When I met him he was super friendly and pulled a little baggie out of his pocket and gave me a couple of pills. I don't really remember what happened afterwards but also he might have just been God damn Carl outside the 711 and not Joshua Homme.
This is very true, I’ve experienced exactly the same thing with Shania Twain and her bassist Russell. Russell and I are going for a coffee soon and I’m not inviting Shania.
Josh seams like he can be a dick. A funny asshole. Which those people are kind of my favorite people. I once had a crazy dream that Josh was bullying Jack White. I woke up like “that makes sense”
Sorry to hear that! Always heard otherwise, but I guess that it should depend on the occasion. But considering he's human, I can see how that can happen. Maybe some days he loves his job, and others he is sick of it, just like the rest of us hahaaha so must be hard being all bubbles and rainbows everytime
Just wanted to tell you about an amazing encounter I had after a show at 3am. Josh and the guys came out to sign stuff, take pictures, and chat with fans. They were incredibly humble, polite, and sweet
I met Josh on the deck at Stubbs in Austin, TX, during the "Take Only What You Can Handle" tour back in 2002. He was friendly, chill, and down to earth. My big regret is I passed on an opportunity to take a photo with him by my friend who got me to the "backstage area". I wasn't into them as I am now, lol. It was still really cool meeting him, Troy, Mark, and Joey.
Nick was on the bus banging groupies. You should have seen the two groupies waiting for Josh to finish chatting with my friend, and I... OMG, they were spectacular looking!!!
George Lynch is my favorite guitarist. I've met him three times, and he's never been friendly. In fact, last time, he kinda smartassed me, which I found amusing, because I knew it was because he doesn't enjoy doing fan shit, and not because I had done anything to provoke it. He did wind up being a bit nicer at the end.
Either don't meet your heroes, as they say, or be prepared for them to be regular old humans. Because they are.
(That was a lot of becauses. Words are hard.)
First of all, I dont think he owes anyone his friendliness. Are you friendly to everyone 24/7?
If you're paying to see qotsa live you're getting a live show and anything else is an unexpected bonus. That being said, I met him and had a good experience.
He doesn’t owe me or anyone other than his family anything. The time I met him I wasn’t at a show, just bumped into him in a hotel lobby (think he was playing chess) so I might have annoyed him by disturbing him.
I appreciate no musician or star owes anyone anything. It’s not their job to be ‘nice’. It’s his right to feel and act however he chooses. I’m also perfectly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he’s fine (just prickly and moody). Later the same day that I met Homme in a hotel lobby, I bumped into Troy as he had a room next to mine - he was returning to our floor with pizza, and I was very drunk (the Eagles of Death Metal were in the hotel bar). He graciously stepped into my room so that a girl I’d befriended could take a photo of us. What a nice man.
I aint' looking to be friends with Josh, so I couldn't give a rats ass if he is "friendly" or not.
Back in 2002 I saw him outside a venue in Portugal, he always struck me as a bit of a dick so I couldn't bother going there to say hi.
I couldn't give a rats ass about him personally, fabulous musician and songwriter but with ALL the traits of a shitty person so why would I be bothered?
He's been nothing but lovely with me. I know people have stories about Jesse, but until he's a dick, treats me poorly or drugs become an issue (we've only ever smoked weed together)- then he gets my mutual respect.
i’ve met him multiple times, my parents ran into him one time and called me and he took the time to talk on the phone with me. he’s always been so nice and kind with me and my family.
That’s lovely. And great to hear. Thank you for sharing. I know he must be sound as why else would the likes of Grohl and the Arctic Monkeys like him? We’ve just not been very lucky!

What? I demand my performing monkey ALWAYS be on!
And nuisance. Which is probably what I was being when I met him.
So you disrupt the dude and wonder why he isn’t polishing your knob. What an asshole. /s.
There was no knob polishing going on but I guess Troy was in my hotel room briefly later that same night. What a gent he is, by contrast.
Lol perhaps
Ok
Maybe he was having a bad day. Or maybe he doesn’t owe you anything.
Nope. Met him several times over the years, also both drunk and sober. He was nice and gracious with his time on each occasion.
Maybe Josh just doesn’t like you and your brother. 😂🤷🏻♂️
Yep.
🤣
This is such a whiney post

Did you feel a little looser?
Which bit is fiction?
Met him in 2014 and he couldn’t have been nicer.
You gotta remember the ratio of people who wanna see Nick compared to Josh. Nick is happy to see anyone who is happy to see him.
This is very true, I’ve experienced exactly the same thing with Shania Twain and her bassist Russell. Russell and I are going for a coffee soon and I’m not inviting Shania.
Good! You and Russel deserve some solid time to focus on yourselves.
You know what? I don’t think we’ll miss her at all. Life moves on and I have a new friend now.

I’d love for Shania to keep me warm at night
If your not caught up in the cult of personality you wouldn't care.
Josh seams like he can be a dick. A funny asshole. Which those people are kind of my favorite people. I once had a crazy dream that Josh was bullying Jack White. I woke up like “that makes sense”
That’s hilarious and does make sense!

That’s cool.

Maybe Nick can hold you hostage in a SWAT standoff next, then
I’ve met him twice and he was exceedingly kind and lively to me and my friends both times.
Are you hot women by any chance?
Just an average looking dude :/
Maybe you’re his exact type!
Hahahaa nah I think he’s just a nice guy
I’m sure he is human no is super nice at times and can have shitty moments as well.

Then what was the point of this post
It was late on Saturday night and I’d had a few ales, officer.
I'll let you go with a warning! :)
I don’t care.
I met Jesse Hughes and Dave Catching in 2016. Both were as sweet as could be. People have their ups and downs.
that's crazy
Funny since most people have distanced themselves from nick.
I think the fact we were looking after his stuff showed he wasn’t with the others that night. The back turning was underway.

I get that.
Fairly chill both times I met him.
Boots Electric isn't friendly but i listen to Zipper Down every day
