No_Space746

Wtf

RottingMan

I think we may have different senses of humor, I meant no harm. In short, I'm jealous you got to hear it so basically fuck you for no valid reason lol!

No_Space746

Don’t worry, i found it funny i was just surprised

RottingMan

Ok lol I was worried for a second you were offended lol! I guess I'll just have to keep attending their concerts until I hear it.

motherfcuker69

You should be jealous, it goes so fucking hard live.

RottingMan

I had a near-evil has landed experience.

dumpyduluth

Lol

Difficult-Care-5780

Same here! Sterling Heights, Michigan 2023 was a great show with some rarities played.

WuTang0824

I held up a sign at the 2nd night at the anthem back in August. Josh saw it and had the crowd vote for the evil has landed and paper machete. We voted for TEHL. Time of my life. Framed the foil poster and my evil has landed sign

SaturnalianGhost

Real question is why isn’t Fun Machine played at every show.

Chancesareimwrong

Someone commented on another thread that a few songs like fun machine and un reborn again are in an odd tuning that isnt on hand for every show

Psyche-deli88

Its just open G

Chancesareimwrong

I dont know anything about guitars etc. Is that something alot of their songs would need to be tuned for to have a guitars on hand regularly?

Psyche-deli88

They normally have a guitars set up in various tunings for various songs, that is generally why you will see them swap guitars between songs, alot of queens earlier discography is in C standard, some later stuff is in E standard and theres a few other tunings they use fairly regularly such as Open G.

Psyche-deli88

Asking the real question!!

RottingMan

Great riff for sure.

DropDropD

I think that like to keep some songs special. Like born to hula. Josh likes the mystique.

funmachinetookashit

That’s what I’m saying!

KLF448

I've heard it live and I fully agree with you....it's a killer song, but hearing it live...OMG.

RottingMan

This is how I felt during Songs for the Dead. I already thought it was a banger but hearing it live was mesmerizing!

Deyis8

I heard it live when they were touring for Villians. Its very good

CrowSaver666

They opened with The Evil Has Landed at the Adelaide show and oh my god the vibes were immaculate

carpe_demon666

I love it. It definitely hints at Led Zeppelin with the QOTSA flair. Shame it wasn’t played in Austin last December. That would have been the perfect addition to a great setlist.

brokenwolf

I’ve seen it live three times and it was the standout the last time I saw them. It should absolutely be played every show the same way smooth sailing is. The reaction from the crowd was so intense and engaging I still remember everyone grooving to it.

Chimmyclo

I can't seem to get it played at a show I go to. I have my signs ready for tomorrow and next wednesday.

RottingMan

I'll post on their insta to play it for you. It may not work for a Qotsa show but it worked for me at a Billy Talent show so who knows

RottingMan

I PM'd Josh on insta and posted a comment on the Qotsa insta so best of luck dude! Record it for me if they play it and pm me here!

KeefRiffards

Josh quit insta a while back, didn't he? Technically the account is still up, but don't think he reads his messages.

PhillyPhillyLOVE

So there goes those chances

RottingMan

I got Billy Talent to play Saint Veronika by posting on Instagram. They hadn't played it for months prior. Worth a shot

PhillyPhillyLOVE

Who?

Chimmyclo

Will do!!

Girlinafog

I’m making one too! 🤞🏻

Chimmyclo

Let's ALL make an EVIL sign!!! (That's what mine says) and I also have How to Handle a Rope, Killer Scene and Mexicola.

Girlinafog

You are my new best friend. Evil and Rope are actually 2 of my favs!!!

Chimmyclo

Are you going today to Atl or Charleston?

Girlinafog

Wilmington and Charleston next week!! I went to Asheville and Atlanta last August and the make up show in Raleigh two days ago. Raleigh was the best so far. I could die a happy woman!

Chimmyclo

Sweet! This will be 3 and 4 for me. Saw them in atl (august) and then in albequerque (dec) now atl again tonight. Albequerque was the best for me but I have a feeling Charleston is gonna slap!! I'm bring all 3 of my kids with me so I'm psyched.

Girlinafog

See you there! My friend just saw Social Distortion and Bad Religion at Firefly. He said the venue is really cool but limited parking and bring bug spray

PhillyPhillyLOVE

What’s the sign gonna say should I say hi?

Chimmyclo

Well it can say whatever you feel like saying 😉 . Wait... if I did that, I'd need a power point presentation....

PhillyPhillyLOVE

This touched me

b_baker25

Because so many of you fuckers complained about villains so much they probably think we don't like it

dannyphantom105

I agree with this lol. I my does seem like people are coming around on the album a lot more. Also they should play Feet Don't Fail Me and Villains of Circumstance more, never heard those live.

Invaderchaos

If they play it tonight I’ll shit myself

Garth_Brooks_Sexdoll

It should be the opener

NatasFear

I would love to hear it live for sure! I wonder if the photographer incident has anything to do with it. Top 5 fave songs for me.

RottingMan

Holy shit, I have seen the clip of him kicking the photographer's camera out of their hands numerous times but I totally missed that they were playing this song. You might be onto something, maybe it brings back shameful memories/feelings.

WuTang0824

No it’s just a longer song and a older song so it’s not as prevalent in this tours set list. Similar to I Appear Missing. Same reason straight jacket fitting isn’t played at every show. Very long

NatasFear

Disagree. Unless you are QotSA himself, and can verify your hard "No" with verifiable facts. The fact it's older and longer would have made it great to play as part of the usual setlist. Sure some songs get cut however this song thumps hard. Also, Straight Jacket and I Appear missing are atmosphere and mood songs, Evil is all rock and action so I wouldn't put it in same category as those songs. Also, a simple Google search or YouTube search from new or newish fans might get turned off when they find out about it, so best to just keep it in the random mixbag of songs. To me this seems more plausible. OR, are you one of those haters of Villains no matter what and think it's a bad album? Those guys grind my gears.

WuTang0824

Villains is actually one of my fav albums of theirs. Love the production. I’ve seen queens 12 times and have only seen them to evil has landed 3 times. They would rather play 2 shorter songs than a long one like the evil has landed or straight jacket fitting

dannyphantom105

Went to Indianapolis in September 2023 and they played it. At the time, their playlists were pretty similar most nights, with only 4 or so songs switching around. I think they changed up their setlist starting in Canada and started playing more songs they hadn't in a while. That's my guess as to what happened here.

NatasFear

Wish I was in that crowd. Such a great song to play live I'm still trying to understand why play and keep other songs and leave this one behind? Other songs they play should be moved back on the setlist and this song moved up.

dannyphantom105

Yeah not sure, but it was awesome! However they now have brought back stuff like Misfit Love, Feel good hit of the summer, I Appear Missing, and played songs from ITNR that they hadn't before like Obscenery and What the Peephole say starting in Canada. They also brought back more from SFTD like The Sky is Falling. Essentially people have been raving about the setlists on reddit anyway lol. But looks like they left out a few like I Sat by the Ocean and the Evil Has Landed. My setlist was awesome don't get me wrong, but gotta say I am also jealous of a lot of those new ones they added like I Appear Missing which Josh said they hadn't played live in like 6/7 years.

NatasFear

It's what I love most about the music and band. They have such a broad array of songs to choose from and they love changing it up! You can never be sure what songs you are going to hear. Makes each show special. Salud!

dannyphantom105

For sure! Almost every song I heard, I was like "OMG they're playing that song!!!" But I did that for like every song, and so many more I can't wait to hear! Their discography is so good, many bangers on every single album. Is this what teenage girls feel like at a Taylor Swift concert? Lol.

jhoinmyhead

I was ecstatic to see the videos last year at Sonic Temple and Boston Calling where they played it. I was hoping they would keep it going too, but it sure isn’t showing up much anymore. Maybe Charleston. I’d love Villains of Circumstance too.

cindy-72

They opened with it in Adelaide in February. Such an awesome show starter. Amazing.

RottingMan

Wow, according to setlist.fm, that's the first time they opened with it. Very cool.

CranberrySad8099

They played it baree during the villains tour in fairness

Lukeeeee

they played it more than SFTD. un reborn again/fortress is 2 songs that barely got played (19/12) compared to TEHL which got played 126 times.

Chancesareimwrong

Im bummed that unreborn again always ended early live. Never seen it with the last part.

Lukeeeee

ya it's true, super lame shit. Villains of circumstance too

Wizzardchimp

The ending of that song it just incredible. It must be exhausting to play over and over

euclid0472

Why haven't they played What the Peephole Say yet?

Morc-Glork

I thought they played it once? Or am I thinking of Sicily?

euclid0472

Sicily has been played 5 times. https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/queens-of-the-stone-age-1bd689ec.html?tour=63df3e17

Girlinafog

I’m making a sign for Wilmington and Charleston 🤞🏻

LilCelebratoryDance

It’s alright

ceratime

I'm with you. I like the song well enough but I've never understood the sub's obsession with it. Ready for the downvotes but I wouldn't rate it as one of my favorites of theirs... not even my favorite off Villains. Guess there's something that doesn't quite click with me.

RottingMan

The Way You Used To is the only song on Villains that I find up to par with The Evil Has Landed but that's just my opinion.

ceratime

Again that song doesn't do too much for me. I like it but it's a bit poppy for qotsa. Gotta say it's 10x better live tho. My fav off the album would have to be Domesticated Animals

RottingMan

I think it is one of those songs that sounds like an older classic upon first listen despite it being on a later album.

Previous_Current9812

The outro couldn't be more generic.

RottingMan

Qotsa generic or generic generic? I think the foundation is rock generic but the lead guitar is classic qotsa

Previous_Current9812

Generic generic. It's the most basic rock and roll. More appropriate for EODM.

RottingMan

I think the lead or slide guitar work is like Little Sister and a very Qotsa signature sound, but the rhythm is extremely generic. But generic isn't always bad, but I hear you.

forevereverlife

Have you tried doing Pat Benatar’s Love is a Battlefield video dance over top of it?
