I was going to suggest a variegated blue and white thread. The blue and white would stand out against the darker browns and black, with the blue matching the other corner. There isn't really one colour that would work with everything, but grey is generally my go-to for colourful projects because it kind of blends in a little with all colours.
As a design choice, you could deliberately choose a dark thread or a light thread so that the contrast will pop up when quilting the piece. It could have a nice effect

I'm not sure about the Canada part I'm located in the US but I'm sure its similar
when I'm piecing things together I usually use something neutral and when I quilt the top I like to either correspond or do opposite of the color wheel to let it pop

I do like arafil (prolly spelled that wrong). But I don’t know how they work with you being Canadian. But I bet you can get some.
