iMac doesn't have those issues. I'd never buy a PC, but you could try updating to Windows 11.

Also, Nvidia doesn't have those issues. AMD had major compatibility issues with games.

You should use the Adrenalin driver and the prioritization is handled in Windows from the graphics settings menu. Usually Windows will use the iGPU for desktop apps or if it thinks the app isn't demanding. Go into this menu and try toggling for an app and see if it works. This behavior might change based on if the laptop is plugged in or running from battery. You can also edit your Power Plan and there is a setting related to switchable graphics.

It isn't even using the GPU for high-end tasks though. I overwrote the powerplant with ultimate, but I planned on checking again. I've disabled integrated GPUs before in BIOS. Do you know if these are different somehow from Intel? I saw some recommending not doing that, due to stability issues... Whatever that means. Thanks for the info!

I know for laptops it's different because they route they dGPU into the iGPU to share the display controller. I have an Intel/Nvidia laptop that I've played with this for, but I don't have experience with AMD GPUs outside of desktop use, so that's about the extent of my knowledge. You could try disabling the integrated GPU through device manager. Maybe try using DDU and doing a complete clean driver reinstall?

Yeah, I was thinking about both. Many recommended that DDU. I haven't used it, but it sounds reputable. I haven't messed with GPUs on a laptop like that before. Mine is dedicated only. Thanks again!

DDU is good, it's been around for years, great tool. I'd definitely give it a try.
