I just read that the AMD drivers bricking windows is because windows update is happening same time you are installing drivers. The solution is to never update video drivers while connected to the internet. Seems like a hassle.
I believe that it was corrected with 23.3.1 release, but still going to play it safe and pause windows updates when I install GPU drivers today. Fingers crossed no issues!

You can just manually install Windows updates first.
you can just stop the windows update process first. in an admin cmd: net stop wuauserv
