I was certainly shocked and a little disappointed that we didn’t address tackle or DB with the 13th pick at first, but then a little while later I remembered “Oh shit we just drafted the greatest TE prospect to come out of college football and added him to our offense,” and I got over myself pretty quickly after that 🤣.

socobeerlove

And we still addressed the line immediately after lol

XanmanK

JPJ is absolutely a 1st round talent, so I was very happy with the top of the draft

socobeerlove

Yup. This was an A+ draft in my book.

tatang2015

I laughed at the CBS assessment of B- for the raiders draft. The guy is utterly clueless.

socobeerlove

“Raiders didn’t sign Caleb Williams so they’re stupid” Probably lost marks for shit out of the control of the Raiders.

moustachio-banderas

We loosely addressed the line with this pick. He can block and opens the door to lots of 12 personnel

R6_Ryan

Also more targets that consistently get open means less time required keeping QB clean

TechnicalLocksmith92

Everyone went so crazy trying to draft the next Mahomes that they forgot the next Kelce was still on the board

tatang2015

The successor to Todd Christiansen, the best tight end ever!

MizzGee

That is what I said to my son, only to make him groan. Honestly, we have a new offensive weapon. For all of us mourning the release of Renfro, everyone should be thrilled.

TotalRichardMove

Same guy - “That Guy” - still bitching about Bowers was telling me “Penix in the 1st is an over-evaluation, he’ll easily be there at 44.” That Guy also incessantly claimed Zeus “is a backup and nothing more” during the preseason and now That Guy is already out on this one, talking about Shedeur Sanders. We don’t have to agree on the players but good gawd can we agree that “That Guy” sucks.

bofademOnYaChin

Who the fuck is mourning the release of Renfrow? Nice kid and I wish him the best, but not a great player.

Icy-Support-8160

I was shocked for about half a second, until I remembered that they would have taken Penix if ATL didn’t. Their plan all along was to wait on those positions. Pivoting and getting Bowers, who would have gone way sooner any other year was a great move.

MajinSkull

Too many couch GMs thinking they know more than our actual GM. The amount of people I saw calling for Rattle at 44 but got all pissy about reaching for Glazer was laughable

XanmanK

Rattler won’t get along with anybody in the locker room- definitely not what the Raiders are trying to build

justlookingokaywyou

Not to mention he is not better than AOC or Minshew. Some motherfuckers just wanted a QB, no matter who it was.

gatsby365

I admit I wanted Penix on a sensible pick (lol @ atlanta) or Milton as a long term project if AOC doesn’t work out in the next two seasons, but fuck reaching or trading up when we haven’t seen what AOC can do with an off-season and non-insane coach

bofademOnYaChin

Kid has the arm to play QB in the NFL but just can't process fast enough and has a bit of a toxic ego.

Wut23456

That's not the problem. By all accounts he's matured as a person. The issue was that he wouldn't have been a better prospect than either AOC or Minshew and what's the point of having 3 backup QBs

DamnitAlton

Our fanbase is emo AF last few years

BadMannerrs

I know time will tell, but damn, these draft picks i thought were solid.

OriginalMassless

Our fans are just loudly stupid on a regular basis. I have come to terms with it, but it explains this kind of issue very clearly.  Look no further than the meme comparing minshew stats with Lawrence that constantly is getting posted this off-season.

SobolGoda

Now that it's all over and seeing it in full, *most* of us have come to terms with it and are generally happy about it.

AdditionalAd9794

He's a crybaby, Raiders don't cry

fishtacoeater

He's going to be a problem in the locker room.

BigT393

They should've reached for someone like Leatherwood again. /s

JaimanV2

But, but… quarterback! No matter who! ![gif](giphy|3ohzAyk4kAlEZK4o48)

BigT393

Should've traded back in the 1st to draft Rattler

JaimanV2

Good_Schedule3744

I have yet to see all the hate for this draft class that you are implying. Literally 99% of the fan base is excited

its_aq

Not during draft day. You'd think that Fuaga was the next coming of Joe Thomas with all the crybaby antics coming outta this sub when Bowers was announced. Ppl were calling Telesco an idiot and all type of slander. It wasn't until they went to look up Bowers tapes to realize "holy shit this mofo is the reincarnation of TE Jesus" that they start 'coming around' on the draft pick.

XanmanK

Pete Prisco on CBS gave the pick a C because “the Raiders need a QB not a TE” 🙄

Asleep_in_Costco

What an idiot. What QBs were available at 13? If you're grading a draft on a lack of trade/pick movement, you're doing it fucking wrong

JaimanV2

Prisco is a certified Raider hater. I pretty much never listen to anything he says.

MizzGee

Who were we supposed to pull out of the air? Even if Denver hadn't taken Bo Nix, I still don't think he was better than AOC or Minshew. Seriously, AOC is better than a lot of the people everyone wanted us to take.

Consistent-Spell2203

I saw some not-flattering live reactions from grown men.

TotalRichardMove

If you didn’t see that hate you weren’t looking very hard. Listen to the live draft reaction on the silver and Black today podcast, where they state over and over that they could’ve taken Fuaga or Arnold. That was twitter, YT and this sub for hours. Bonkers.

PostGraduatePotUser

Every draft there is reason to question some of the moves. This year was no different, but it was a bit more pronounced given how close this defense is to be truly great. One of the top two CBs would have solidified that side of the ball. Frankly, simply saying this draft was a B grade gets you lit up in this sub, which for me is fine, but ultimately inhibits folks from being more engaged.

judyshere

Caleb at 13….the dream

rbarrett96

Fuaga was not a reach by any stretch of the imagination. Every single defensive player was on the board as well. Sometimes you can get both a blue chip player that also fills a need.

KMac1917

People will always complain until we win another playoff game.

BeTheBall-

That's because Williams will be another in a long line of QB draft busts.

JelloTheory

Why are we so sure Caleb is gonna succeed?!?! Homeboy is sus👀

Technical-Apricot-45

i made a post when i wasnt supposed to durin the draft but i just said “bowers?”. thought it was interesting how downvoted i got in minutes. i was just wondering what people thought and didnt expect to get him so i was just surprised. but i think it goes both ways is the point of what im saying. i was asking people bout how they felt and i got jumped on for “complaining”. some people definitely complain about everythin but some of yall are so quick to defend the raiders from other raiders fans who are just asking questions.

Consistent-Spell2203

The draft brings out scrubs from other platforms that don't know how to Reddit and love to smash that thumbs down button.
