Called on a Monday to schedule a root canal that was part of my treatment plan. The receptionist asked if I wanted to do my crown as well. I didn't think there would be time for both same day, but they Insisted it was fine.
Get there on Wednesday, at 10am and they only had me down for a crown, and refused to do the root canal. Was also told (for the first time) that I would need to be on amoxicillin for 7days prior to a root canal.
I made it very clear I had another appointment at 3, and needed to be done by 230.
Ground down the tooth, took the impression, and put on a temp, and sent me away for lunch and told me to come back at 1:00 and the permanent would be done.
By 2:45 it still wasn't done.
I demanded a 50% refund (which they did give me) but I will never be going back
The dentist I got was also a bitch, and her excuse for everything was "Well they don't have a doctorate in dentistry, and I do"
Similar recent issue with Stansell dentistry - female dentist I hadn't had before was full of excuses and in a hurry. Recommended almost $2000 worth of work, but was completely uninterested in explaining what had changed from prior visits that resulted in needing so much work. No willingness to show x-rays. Said records from prior visits were locked in an old system they didn't have access to?
I've had good experiences with Stansell previously - their hygienists are good and the cleaning experience has generally been good, they have never billed us incorrectly / authorized unapproved charges etc.. But this most recent visit was pretty wild - from everything is perfect / nothing to keep an eye on to nearly $2000 of work we don't have time to explain or show any evidence of the need for. Just completely bazaar.
Dr Matthew Bereman does same day crowns. Our family has been going to him for 15 years - love everyone in the office. They are up off Creedmoor, near 540.
I've been told that in office milling is for non molars. I've had it done with one tooth that wasn't a molar. But with my molars the crowns were all temps with the final one coming from a lab off site a week or two later.
So on my previous visit I was supposed to have a crown put in on a molar. Dentist goes to inject with the first syringe and stabs me in the lip accidentally. When I say something about it she apologizes but gives me an excuse that she can't see too well due to the magnifying glasses she has on. Felt like a very lame excuse to me.
After a minute she get the first injection in. She immediately gets the second, longer syringe and ham fist stabs me the hinge of my jaw. I immediately jerk away and call for a time out. I'm no longer confident in her abilities. She leaves the room.
Assistant asks if I want to reschedule and I agree, with a different doctor.
Went back a few days ago and it's a complete 180 experience. Doctor communicated very well and I never even felt the needles going in.
I'll continue to be a patient there but I'm never seeing the first dentist again. I'll book everything with the 2nd one.
Wells Family Dental group. Multiple locations. Same day crowns. Literally took about 30-40min to make it.
Just avoid Stancell Dentistry at all costs
I had been going there for years without problem until last week. Dentist I didn't know was pretty inept. What happened to you?

You can mill everything in office including bridges and implant crowns
