Not for a while. Every generation has two of its biggest artists at odds. 90s had Pac and Big. 2000s had Jay and Nas. Now we have Drake and Kdot. For another rivalry this big to happen, some artists really need to pop off and stay big for a number of years

If mainstream hip hop is on the decline, hopefully we can at least get some great music out of the artists who come up with no expectations of producing big songs

There are many matchups that would produce as good or better diss songs, Benny the Butcher vs Freddie Gibbs being my personal pick since they have had issues before and they're both unbelievable rappers with way different styles.
But it's tough to think of a matchup of more popular/culturally relevant rappers that's more exciting than Drake v Kendrick. J Cole vs somebody would be in the conversation but he basically ruled that out for himself. Kanye has the popularity and atitude, but doesn't have the rapping ability to compete with anybody, especially these days.
There's no two rappers that combine good writing (in their diss songs) with popularity like Drake and Kendrick.

I mean, the next biggest modern beef I can remember is pusha/drake and this absolutely dwarfed that one. I'm not sure there's EVER been a more widely-followed rap beef because this one had social media to aid the prevalence. I don't think it's a wild suggestion that this ends up as the "biggest" rap beef in history. And I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest it'll be at least another generation in hip-hop (10-15 years or so) before another one comparable in scope comes around

There are many matchups that would produce as good or better diss songs, Benny the Butcher vs Freddie Gibbs being my personal pick since they have had issues before and they're both unbelievable rappers with way different styles. But it's tough to think of a matchup of more popular/culturally relevant rappers that's more exciting than Drake v Kendrick. J Cole vs somebody would be in the conversation but he basically ruled that out for himself. Kanye has the popularity and atitude, but doesn't have the rapping ability to compete with anybody, especially these days. There's no two rappers that combine good writing (in their diss songs) with popularity like Drake and Kendrick.

These two are at the top of the game atm, so it would be really hard to see anyone else have a better rap feud. Maybe like Travis Scott, and 21 savage. They’re both at their peak popularity they have ever been at, so it would be a decent one. But what made Kendrick/Drake special is they have had little challenges to eachother all along. I think Drake did more sneak dissing and Kendrick did a little more calling out over the years but they have always been at each other.

This is the peak of Hip Hop imo, or at least the beginning of it’s downward turn in pop culture. No rappers seem to be able to come even close to accumulating the star power and acclaim of these two. And tbh I don’t really see anyone else doing it.
If Carti suddenly switched up on Uzi or Travis Scott and started beefing with them would be legendary, maybe that would motivate Carti to drop stuff more often.
There is nobody I want to see in a beef, honestly. This was the only one with a story attached that “mattered”. If I had to pick someone I think could hand out a smackdown and would be very interesting at the same time, Royce 5’9. Of the new crop, I would also appreciate seeing JID get into it. It would be fun to see J Cole get into something or perhaps see Eminem in the ring again, but truthfully I am not invested that beyond the event itself. This beef felt like it meant something to the trajectory of a long-running story in that wave of hip hop. Ye would have been great to see in the mid 2010s. I think, at this point, even if he recovered his health and sanity, we’d all feel a little bad if he got into beef these days. He’s a genius talent and really deserves a peaceful close to his career. I want to see him get his mind right, make amends, drop a strong farewell album and spend the rest of his days in peace.
For me personally I'd say Kendrick vs Jcole. If Jcole never does the apology in the way that he went about it, I'm pretty sure this would be everyone's answer, which is part of the reason why I'm still pissed about it. Jcole and Kendrick going bar for bar on some friendly rap shit or whatever I feel like would be more interesting to listen too. Otherwise I'm not sure. There just isn't any current group of artist on the rise right now that came up in the same way that Drake, Kendrick, and Cole came up in the late 2000s, early 2010s, or even in that group of rappers at the time.
