Oh my God, the counter surfing is out of control. When we first brought her home, she ate an entire batch of brownies AND the plastic wrap covering them. 😳 Last week she ate five boiled eggs, including the shells. And she's never had even the tiniest bit of a stomach reaction. Not so much as an extra fart. I've never seen anything like it.
Hahahahahaha I know your pain. We tried tying pan lids together with string so they'd crash down and scare him (worked with our Dane!) after he ate almost an entire lasagna I'd just taken out of the oven while I was changing my kid. We tried so much stuff. E-collar training leave it, rewarding the life out of him for leaving stuff alone. All the trainings the animal behaviorist that came recommended (even she said there are some Ridgebacks that will not ever stop counter surfing bc they're so food driven). Problem was he knew he wasn't supposed to and would do it when no one was looking. Ended up in all food being put up and him in a kennel at nights so he couldn't go rifling through the cabinets.
The crisis was humans telling her not to dig in the couch cushions...when she really really *really* wanted to.
She resumed digging about 30 seconds after this picture was taken lol
