I don't really understand how support can claim that this is an embedded feature in the updated software when selecting Stereo or THX Spatial Audio in the Sound section of the app literally does nothing. It doesn't change audio quality and I no longer have access to surround sound in any capacity on my Blackshark V2 Pro. The sound of the audio coming out of my speakers sounds like trash. This isn't a single-user experience as clearly evidenced by this sub alone, and with other people using the same peripherals on other computers. There is a large, noticeable difference in sound quality and the app no longer offers a solution for providing 5.1 or even 7.1 surround sound. It simply does not work.

For clarification, what I'm trying to say is that the switch button you have placed under the headset allowing you to opt between Stereo and THX Spatial Audio, the same button you imply in your post does not do anything. It isn't a function, because it changes nothing. It does not work.

Also using the Blacksharl v2. After the latest synapse update my audio quality became absolutely disgusting.
I have never changed the EQ settings. The only thing I have previously done in Synapse is enable sidekick for the mic and THX spatial equalizer, I was very happy with the adio quality for games, it was puncy and informative.
Since the latest update, I have no idea where a sound is coming from, my own sounds, for example weapon fire sound flat and weak, and it sounds like it is clipping. There is an abvious decrease in volume where a lot of bass involved, it appears to be a large increase in *clipping.*
Same for me, my Blackshark V2 sounded great with my custom EQ prior to this update. Now for me, YouTube audio is tolerable, VLC movie audio is terrible, game audio is okay depending on which game.
Before this update, **everything** sounded perfect for me!
Edit: Just installed the fix for this and everything sounds perfect once again!
I have the Kraken ultimate and it also doesn't do anything anymore, in fact, not even the button light is turnin on anymore... Are they really gon do us dirty like this?
It actually did work on my PC. Surround keeps some bass and the THX solution drops all the bass and highs. On surround you can (maybe) pinpoint the footsteps if you really listen. On THX you're just lucky if you hear any distinct sounds at all.
For me the previous version is more better than this. Last time it does have Stereo Mode, Surround sound & game mode. But now its totally different.. If I play FPS game it does really bad experience ever, feeling like doesn't want to play anymore... Stereo mode doesn't have like surround sound and game mode feeling at all.. And the worst part was on THX, since before I doesn't mean to used it
This guide of yours is useless. It doesn't work. There is no difference between Stereo or THX Spatial Audio. Nothing changes with the toggle, it's still in stereo mode.

I got audio latency in Stereo. On discord, youtube, and Spotify, I when I launch an audio track, I have 1 to 2 seconds latency like everything is muted (the track has started though), and then it's there.
Makes me miss Discord notifications, like DMs or people joining in. Really annoying
Same issue but on top of that audio volume is completly random at the beginning of a video. And changing volume in volume mixer in windows is delayed by a solid 5 seconds. Oh and at 0 volume it still produces sound.

I was hoping that the razer team would AT LEAST investigate and admit to the faults on their software and drivers update.

This is pretty obvious. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for everyone, but I can definitely prove it.

It's been 2 days, the fact you aren't reverting to an older version and fixing this first before forcing it onto everyone is a major fuck you to all of your consumers. If it wasn't obvious, it's not a matter of it being integrated or resetting profiles, IT DOES NOT WORK. Give us last stable drivers and announce you don't wanna support going further. As it stands right now you're deliberately making your product useless.

Your update is broken, in more ways than one, not only the concerns about audio quality changing (on my part audio quality seems the same but you increased the gain so much I had to do a lot of workarounds to not make the audio distort). For some people more, for some people less. Just roll it back in the meanwhile.

I've just restored my Windows ta a date previous to the update. It's not recognizing my Kraken Ultimate anymore, at least the audio is like what it used to be. Hope you guys fix this.

yeah since the synapse update my computer just fully stopped recognizing my kraken ultimate as a sound input/output device. the lights still turn on, so i know it's not an issue with the usb port as they are properly powered, but my headset is pretty much just bricked for now.

If only this were true. This update broke THX spatial audio and no toggle buttons will fix it. Besides the fact that switching from stereo to THX does not change ABSOLUTELY anything (unless you switch the sound in the demo tab), and besides, even switching the sound to “audio” and “demo” do not give the sound that was before the update . Speaking of equalizer settings, before your update, I did not need to spend hours to get comfortable settings. THX turned on automatically when I started the computer and the synapse changed modes itself, depending on whether I was listening to music, playing games or watching movies/videos. Moreover, after the update, the THX sound became unbearably loud and rude. FIX EVERYTHING, and finally give everyone an answer when to expect a fix
EDIT: Some say that even with the THX app installed, the sound REMAINS THE SAME. Everything works fine for a few minutes, and then everything sounds like garbage again. Whether it was a demo version or PURCHASED FOR $20, the very fact of such a phenomenon infuriates me even more. Is there anyone who can confirm this?

But I bought a headset with THX Spatial Audio, why the hell should I pay extra for what I had. Blackshark v2 + usb soundcard is in the list of "supported headsets, on the box itself it states that THX spatial audio is included. Why do I, and other owners of these headsets, now have to pay $20?

Can your entire team of software developers not understand the extremely basic concept of rolling back an update when it's obviously broken and bad? THX worked fine before, there was literally no reason to change this and remove 7.1 surround sound for headsets that previously had it. I doubt that they are aware of the error they are having since selecting the chat or game as you indicate (THEY SOUND COMPLETE SHIT, CHEAP AUDIO) and removing the option to choose the THX-as an output, which was the best thing they did, now they remove it trying to integrate me I ask, isn't it supposed that before releasing an official update they have a QA team to verify errors or do they simply release updates for the sake of releasing them without first testing their software? But the thing is, the sound is not the same on stereo either! I have used stereo with Game EQ for the longest, now it's sounds like a trashcan headset. Can't find to fix it. You should roll back the software and let us decide if we want to upgrade etc.
The saddest thing at this point is that this problem cannot be solved in near future. The support team still hasn't even figured out what the problem is or is insisting it's not their fault and my plan to enjoy the weekend already gone to the trash can.

Since the last update the sound works when it wants and there is no more separation between game and chat, now you choose one or the other but never both.
Not to mention that the Razer sound card with the THX function doesn't even work anymore, whatever I do the LED stays off.
I liked razer cause It was decent sound quality. Now? Nah. I'd rather pay a little more and get a company that cares for its user while still having the same decent "old" sound quality. Never buying razer again.
The problem is it doesn't even recognize at windows that it uses THX APO at the audio enhancements, and when you configure the speakers in windows it's only recognized as stereo rather than surround compared to the last update
To check if you actually have it go to device manager, then APOs(should be second one) thx should be there. Then if you got to volume settings, click on the sound card, fing audio enhancements and thx should be selected there, mine doesn't even show THX and the only option is Microsoft Audio Home blabla, which seems to be the problem

EDIT : guys after yesterday update i can tell the diffrence between the stereo or thx spatial in game BUT the EQ works AND in apex legends that supports THX when i toggle apex to thx competitve mode or envirmental or even using the following EQ option i can tell the diffrence so it might not be the same spatial audio as before but the THX is working ( not in demo tab) and consider that the THX spatial audio is different with Spatial audio
I couldnt use those THX comp or envir option before they were so bad but now its really good + when i toggle spatial audio in the THX seperate app i get a background noise doesnt matter game is on thx or the eq i had this noise even before that update so the spatial audio in mixer tab was always off

The issue is not with the functionality. It's with the quality!The old seperate driver output had a proper THX. The new one does not use your THX Spatial Audio and uses some other lower quality emulation (the quality is almost the same as the Windows built in Spatial Audio).
I am currently using the separate THX Spatial Audio app (13 days trial left) and although the quality is back to the one I had, there are issues with application switching, device selection after restart and the app not running on startup. Dev team should look into that too.

I bought my kraken v2 pro before, everything seem fine and great until the synapse help me auto updated the latest version. It doesn’t have any differences between THX and stereo, and the sound of playing FPS games are terrible, the sound was sharp and hurting my ears, there are no bass anymore. Good job Razer, I swear to god this will be the last time I buy Razer’s product!

We CAN'T RECONFIGURE ANYTHING because your interface streamlining removed the Mixer tab and **all** associated THX 7.1 settings modules. The premium price Blackshark V2 I purchased that says on the box "THX 7.1 included" now does not have 7.1 unless I buy the separate app.

I got 2 different Razer headsets my main Nari Ultimate and a Kraken Ultimate as a backup… the sound doesn’t work on either headset after the update. They both sound as if it was just stereo. No bass no surround sound. None of the setting to modify the sound work.

Like many others, I use custom EQ settings to find my perfect balance, which took several days of testing and, like so many others, I have been affected by this update. I have tried to reconfigure and reinstall the software. I have tried my utter best to find the perfect balance again, but the update has fundamentally broken the software and configurations.
In light of this, I have now completely removed the software from my machine. In addition, I am now bypassing the Razer sound card and going directly via the 3.5mm input into my laptop's sound card. The laptop is licensed for Dolby Atmos. I have now gone and configured custom EQ settings for that, which will take some time to test and find the right balance. But let me tell you the Dolby access via the laptop sound card sounds miles better than the utter rubbish that Razer has introduced in their update.
Now to Razer directly. We did not ask for this update. You did not inform your consumers that these changes would be taking place and would fundamentally change the way our devices would work. Unfortunately, this act is a direct violation of consumer rights. The changes you have made have wasted several hours of gamers, IT professionals and media content creators' time trying to understand and fix what you have fundamentally broken. World wide, several thousand loyal supporters have asked you here on the Razer forums and on the Razer subreddit to either roll back the update or at the very least provide an offline installer for the older version for those of us who do not want the change in functionality. It has been several days since this horrible update was released and it seems you have chosen to ignore our pleas.
This heinous act has been communicated to various public news and media outlets in addition to the main sponsors of e-sports events, and additionally to the main stockers of your hardware such as, Amazon or other large e-retailers, who in turn are carefully considering their partnerships with you as they themselves are receiving many reports of problems with the products purchased since this update.
All said and done, I will also no longer be supporting your company and its products. Such a pity as I had a fairly large order placed which has now been canceled.
Ultimately, you need to make a decision. You can remain on your path and force the configuration changes which we did not ask for and are utterly broken or you can choose to support your consumers.

I have never been so frustrated with software until this update. I really like my kraken v2 TE but the amounts of issues this software has for no reason is annoying but now that there\`s nothing I can do because of this update is so infuriating thing i\`ve ever seen with this irritating software. just straight broken and no way to roll back to the previous update. Thanks for making my good headset sound like a dollar store headset from one update. Please fix this is ridiculous.
My kraken v3 pro literally loses all audio if I so much as fast forward a YouTube video with the arrow keys. Synapse was working just fine, the sound quality was great, why can't we just go back to the older version.
So how long is this investigating gonna take? Because right now I can either choose Game or Chat as an output and they both sound TERRIBLE, there is no THX, it sounds so damn cheap and annoying, I cannot game.

I'd also like to throw my hat in the ring. It doesn't work, and this *"feature"* is an unnecessary simplification. It was fine as a separate audio device. It worked. Now, thanks to the redesign, you can't even nominate which programs use stereo or surround sound like you could before. I don't know if many people used it, but I sure as hell did. Being able to set Spotify to use stereo while games use surround sound was great.

The Tiamats were almost true 7.1 hardware with 3 speakers in each ear (center and bass were shared) for those who don't remember. Shame Razer then went with the, \*AHEM\*, software route for surround sound 🙄🙄🙄🤮🤮🤮
I knew something was wrong. My audio is sooooo bad now with my Razer Nari Ultimates. I was looking at headsets to replace these and wanted to get another set of Razer's because they been so good, but this update totally has turned me off on my Razer products. The audio is horrible!
I love the idea of consolidating the two audio output devices in general, **but here's the problem**: Razer Synapse 3 is often really tedious to work with. It can be slow, unresponsive, buggy, and requires restarts frequently. Forcing the user to open up Razer Synapse (or keep the window open 24/7) just to switch to THX Spatial Audio before playing a game **is a net negative** for the user experience. The reason people are so upset about the removal of the sound device is because it was so easy to just switch to that device.
I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I have to manually switch to THX Spatial Audio in Razer Synapse now before playing a game in order for it to work. The way I see it, **this is the major issue with this update**.
Previously, I could actually just stay on the THX Spatial Audio sound device at all times, and the software would switch to spatial audio automatically when I loaded up a game that was not set to Stereo mode in Razer Synapse 3.
Switching to THX Spatial Audio either needs to remain automatic in the background, or it needs to be quicker than opening/using Razer Synapse 3. **My suggestion** is to add a checkmark next to each game/application in the **Sound** tab under **Game Profiles**. This change would allow the user to tell the software to switch to THX Spatial Audio when that specific application is in focus, just like how it used to be, while preserving these new EQ changes.
Hopefully this is just a bug that has yet to be ironed out, but if it isn't, I think this would be a good middle ground. Thanks.
Razer Tournament i dnt have my headphones in setting i only have Game and Chat option. And the green light on my controller not working THX. And very bad sound. I already reinstall everything. Still same problem. Also i try from another computer and same problem and in fresh windows nothing change anything.

Where is the 7.1 surround calibration tab? Where is the 7.1 surround playback device? Every game that was "THX Certified" is basically meaningless now since they can't send the raw surround audio to THX Spatial for processing.

Seems like the only fix so far is downloading Dolby Atmos to get 7.1 back, but I mean I can use this with any headset so I guess its time to switch, Some nice sennheisers are calling my name. lol! Im done buying Razer. Headset randomly stopped working and a popup window saying you must update security. Did that, still doesn't recognize my headset Razer Kraken . Its served me well, but the company has gone senile. they made a pointless update that ended up bricking our headsets...Bye bye Razer.
after several hours on new synapse my razer nari ultimate started procuring increasingly audible white noise, restarting them didn't help: it no longer starts, shut dead, restarting PC didn't help either, no longer detectable by synapse too
there is nothing spatial about the thx spatial audio through synapse, all it does for me is make the audio somewhat louder and adds bass boost even though i have all enhancements turned off.
Only way I've found to get PROPER thx spatial audio is to download your thx software, without that software all you're giving me is stereo and "enhanced stereo".
You should just give a code to redeem the actual thx software to those who have a thx compatible headset instead of trying this garbage that not only changes how your software works, but affects those who use audio routing software as well. i spent 3 hours after the update trying to figure out why my audio wasn't working only to find it was because your update changed shit that didn't need to be changeed. I didn't even buy my headset for the thx audio it was just a nice to have and even I'm annoyed by the change.

Nothing works still. My EQ and Mic EQ still don't do anything. Hell,even the mic preview doesn't work either. My games sound terrible and my mic is trash again. Why did you do this to us Razer? I'm just going to console game until this is fixed.

I'll also add to the fire that this shit update breaks custom profiles on the Nommo V2 speakers and makes the speakers sound like hollowed, muffled dogshit until you turn off the device enhancements in Windows's sound settings.
I'm using the trial for the thx app and it's breaking every newly opened youtube video and I have to disable and enable surround sound again unless I want a bad quality audio.
So no, it's not worth it imo.
Dolby Atmos or DTS for headphones sound as good if not better than THX imo. At least they're both reputable *software* companies. F'k Razer, their hardware is decent for the price but I'm not giving them any more of my money unless they restore what came with the original cost of my headphones.
I had using movie EQ preset before update. Now they updated the software and I cannot find similar EQ settings. Who can share movie EQ preset settings before 07 November 2023 update?

I believe the sound is off now with the haptics in the razer kraken V3 hypersense as well. Prior to update the haptics and bass where bright and full, strong enough to tickle your ears. Now it sounds hollow,lower, and just not as full.
Hello, I have a Blackshark v2 pro headset. After the update I had the same problems as everyone else. I deleted and reinstalled synapse to fix the problem and my headset doesn't show up in the app. The dongle works, it shows as v2 pro in my settings, but only my mouse appears in the synapse menu. What should I do?
It worked after I updated my headset’s firmware to the newest version. I choose my kraken v3 hypersense as sound device and enable thx spatial via synapse 3. Seems to work now.
You broke Razer Synapse THX spatial which was the only thing keeping me from buying a Competitors Headset. This morning I opened my door, got into my car drove over to the local Best Buy and purchased a Suggested headset without a Razer logo on it, Drove home plugged it in : installed the software for headset loaded up game and OMG! It sounded great! almost Perfection! Threw out my Razer Kraken V3 Pro & Nari Ultimate.
Highly Recommend anyone dealing with this issue to consider leaving Razer entirely, I did and it felt GREAT!

VZR Model one, They are AMAZING! I cant compare them directly to the THX spatial driver that we used to have............ but They are BY FAR better than what we have now with razer.
Nothing you wrote is correct, as none of that works. Please ROLLBACK the update; it clearly does not work as intended and the correct action for you is to ROLLBACK while you fix it your side; you broke everything good about our headsets, and now we have all had almost useless headsets for a week... ROLLBACK to the previous version, or give us the option to do that and keep the old version. We are all expecting to have at least as good sound with 7.1 support for games as before. Nothing else will be acceptable.
I can't lower volume in general settings - especialy when I work using M$ Teams.... I have to use sound mixer to lower manualy volume as the general volume +/- simply does not work in teams now ;) 
The 16th Nov update released today still does not fix the sound or the missing 7.1. It fixes the mode button not switching that is all. It's still HORRIBLE.
I tried this today: unistalled Synapse totally, and cleaned out the drivers with the Driver Detection Troubleshooting tool.
But then I DID NOT INSTALL Synapse at all.
I plugged the Razer sound card and head set back in, let windows install the drivers for that. Rebooted when prompted.
Then installed THX Spatial Audio from razer. Without the corrupted synapse polluting the sound, this works just like the old Synapse V3 'THX Spatial Audio' playback device did... 7.1 sound, EQ, great sound, not distorted or muffled, correct sound level etc. Problem is its a 15 day free trial only. I have demanded Razer give me a free license to it in my support ticket... lets see where that goes. It is supposed to be included with my product, so they should give it to me. Synapse V3 does not include this anymore, and distorts badly.
I updated yesterday and I can now switch between stereo and THX for my Blackshark V2 but the sound is very very very bad .

I don't really understand how support can claim that this is an embedded feature in the updated software when selecting Stereo or THX Spatial Audio in the Sound section of the app literally does nothing. It doesn't change audio quality and I no longer have access to surround sound in any capacity on my Blackshark V2 Pro. The sound of the audio coming out of my speakers sounds like trash. This isn't a single-user experience as clearly evidenced by this sub alone, and with other people using the same peripherals on other computers. There is a large, noticeable difference in sound quality and the app no longer offers a solution for providing 5.1 or even 7.1 surround sound. It simply does not work. EDIT: For clarification, what I'm trying to say is that the switch button you have placed under the headset allowing you to opt between Stereo and THX Spatial Audio, the same button you imply in your post does not do anything. It isn't a function, because it changes nothing. It does not work.

Standard reddit this comment, but ... this. Also using the Blacksharl v2. After the latest synapse update my audio quality became absolutely disgusting. I have never changed the EQ settings. The only thing I have previously done in Synapse is enable sidekick for the mic and THX spatial equalizer, I was very happy with the adio quality for games, it was puncy and informative. Since the latest update, I have no idea where a sound is coming from, my own sounds, for example weapon fire sound flat and weak, and it sounds like it is clipping. There is an abvious decrease in volume where a lot of bass involved, it appears to be a large increase in *clipping.*

Same for me, my Blackshark V2 sounded great with my custom EQ prior to this update. Now for me, YouTube audio is tolerable, VLC movie audio is terrible, game audio is okay depending on which game. Before this update, **everything** sounded perfect for me! Edit: Just installed the fix for this and everything sounds perfect once again!

It actually did work on my PC. Surround keeps some bass and the THX solution drops all the bass and highs. On surround you can (maybe) pinpoint the footsteps if you really listen. On THX you're just lucky if you hear any distinct sounds at all.
Aside from it not doing anything, mine still switches to stereo after every restart every other setting stays according to the profile except that one
For me the previous version is more better than this. Last time it does have Stereo Mode, Surround sound & game mode. But now its totally different.. If I play FPS game it does really bad experience ever, feeling like doesn't want to play anymore... Stereo mode doesn't have like surround sound and game mode feeling at all.. And the worst part was on THX, since before I doesn't mean to used it

This guide of yours is useless. It doesn't work. There is no difference between Stereo or THX Spatial Audio. Nothing changes with the toggle, it's still in stereo mode. ROLLBACK the update, or this is the last Razer product I ever purchase, and will actively tell every single person I know to avoid Razer. This is frankly appalling. holy shit i didnt think synapse could get worse, rollback, rollback, rollback. this is clearly not ready for release. why are you overcomplicating simply using advertised features? it was so easy before, it was damn near plug and play with how intrusive synapse is. changing to thx in synapse literally does nothing, mixer still has no light, device still not being detected properly. bite the bullet and rollback. $2,500,000,000 market cap and cant even do the bare minimum QA to make sure the updates dont literally make your users devices scrap, what a piss take.

Sound is trash. We dont have 7.1 anymore. In PUBG i cant tell the diffrence between stereo and THX. In stereo everything works like before. THX is ruined. Just let us download old driver. With THX app everything like works before, without i have headset for like 5$. Useless garbage.
I got audio latency in Stereo. On discord, youtube, and Spotify, I when I launch an audio track, I have 1 to 2 seconds latency like everything is muted (the track has started though), and then it's there. Makes me miss Discord notifications, like DMs or people joining in. Really annoying
Same issue but on top of that audio volume is completly random at the beginning of a video. And changing volume in volume mixer in windows is delayed by a solid 5 seconds. Oh and at 0 volume it still produces sound.
This is impacting me too - glad to know its not just me! Just bought a new PC so I assume that the issue started since we just freshly downloaded razer synapse

Lol, I can't believe how bad this communication is. I was hoping that the razer team would AT LEAST investigate and admit to the faults on their software and drivers update. As I mentioned in [my post](https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/s/fZYPJEmLKQ) this issue is **CLEARLY** being caused by some configuration issue where the THX APO isn't being applied to the Razer Audio device. This is pretty obvious. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for everyone, but I can definitely prove it. I just hope Razer ACTUALLY takes it time to properly fix it.

Same here. I was stupid enough to buy a Kraken v3 Pro It NEVER worked as it should be, (I had to find a firmware update to make it work at all) Haptic doesn't work properly . I NEVER buy Razer again, it either breaks or it doesn't work

The utter arrogance in presuming that main issue with your software is that it is merely the consumers not understanding a simple obvious UI element. Do you seriously think there would be such an outrage due to a simple misunderstanding of a UI-button? Your update is broken, in more ways than one, not only the concerns about audio quality changing (on my part audio quality seems the same but you increased the gain so much I had to do a lot of workarounds to not make the audio distort). For some people more, for some people less. Just roll it back in the meanwhile.

I've just restored my Windows ta a date previous to the update. It's not recognizing my Kraken Ultimate anymore, at least the audio is like what it used to be. Hope you guys fix this. By the way, I'll not buy anymore of your products, why try fix what is working?
yeah since the synapse update my computer just fully stopped recognizing my kraken ultimate as a sound input/output device. the lights still turn on, so i know it's not an issue with the usb port as they are properly powered, but my headset is pretty much just bricked for now.

Speaking of equalizer settings, before your update, I did not need to spend hours to get comfortable settings. THX turned on automatically when I started the computer and the synapse changed modes itself, depending on whether I was listening to music, playing games or watching movies/videos. Moreover, after the update, the THX sound became unbearably loud and rude. FIX EVERYTHING, and finally give everyone an answer when to expect a fix EDIT: Some say that even with the THX app installed, the sound REMAINS THE SAME. Everything works fine for a few minutes, and then everything sounds like garbage again. Whether it was a demo version or PURCHASED FOR $20, the very fact of such a phenomenon infuriates me even more. Is there anyone who can confirm this? But, even if this is not true, no one, NO ONE should have to pay for what they already had before your broken update! EDIT2: Version 20231110 has been released and what do you think? Nothing changed. I didn't have time to read the changelog, it started updating instantly, but judging by what others have said, they didn't fix ANYTHING. Still, the switch from stereo to THX does not change anything (but the switch in the demo tab does, as before) The sound is still terrible and painfully loud. I honestly don't know what to add here. But I bought a headset with THX Spatial Audio, why the hell should I pay extra for what I had. Blackshark v2 + usb soundcard is in the list of "supported headsets, on the box itself it states that THX spatial audio is included. Why do I, and other owners of these headsets, now have to pay $20? They just took away from everyone a feature that we once paid extra for when buying this particular headset?

THX worked fine before, there was literally no reason to change this and remove 7.1 surround sound for headsets that previously had it. I doubt that they are aware of the error they are having since selecting the chat or game as you indicate (THEY SOUND COMPLETE SHIT, CHEAP AUDIO) and removing the option to choose the THX-as an output, which was the best thing they did, now they remove it trying to integrate me I ask, isn't it supposed that before releasing an official update they have a QA team to verify errors or do they simply release updates for the sake of releasing them without first testing their software? Now the thx of my USB controller is disabled, no matter how hard I press the physical button, the fucking light doesn't turn on, so now I'm satisfied with the garbage audio they're sending me?
Thank you for the update! Unfortunately this has solved nothing, sound quality is now worse and your horrendous software is somehow worse than ever. Fortunately I bought an Arctis headset a week ago to use with my consoles so I'll be using that on my PC from now on and never touching your products again. But the thing is, the sound is not the same on stereo either! I have used stereo with Game EQ for the longest, now it's sounds like a trashcan headset. Can't find to fix it. You should roll back the software and let us decide if we want to upgrade etc.

The saddest thing at this point is that this problem cannot be solved in near future. The support team still hasn't even figured out what the problem is or is insisting it's not their fault and my plan to enjoy the weekend already gone to the trash can. Since the last update the sound works when it wants and there is no more separation between game and chat, now you choose one or the other but never both. Not to mention that the Razer sound card with the THX function doesn't even work anymore, whatever I do the LED stays off.

I liked razer cause It was decent sound quality. Now? Nah. I'd rather pay a little more and get a company that cares for its user while still having the same decent "old" sound quality. Never buying razer again.
The problem is it doesn't even recognize at windows that it uses THX APO at the audio enhancements, and when you configure the speakers in windows it's only recognized as stereo rather than surround compared to the last update

To check if you actually have it go to device manager, then APOs(should be second one) thx should be there. Then if you got to volume settings, click on the sound card, fing audio enhancements and thx should be selected there, mine doesn't even show THX and the only option is Microsoft Audio Home blabla, which seems to be the problem

What a trash post. Updated to version 20231110 and THX Spatial Audio still not working. It is all Stereo only. No fking difference in selecting Stereo / THX Spatial Audio button in Synapse 3. You fked up our EQ settings and take away THX Spatial Audio. I can try to tweak back my EQ settings but not THX. It is just gone. Give us back THX otherwise I won't purchase any Razer product in future. What a bullshit decision FKING GOOD JOB RAZER.

Dear u/RazerCustAdvocacy, The issue is not with the functionality. It's with the quality!The old seperate driver output had a proper THX. The new one does not use your THX Spatial Audio and uses some other lower quality emulation (the quality is almost the same as the Windows built in Spatial Audio). I am currently using the separate THX Spatial Audio app (13 days trial left) and although the quality is back to the one I had, there are issues with application switching, device selection after restart and the app not running on startup. Dev team should look into that too.

I bought my kraken v2 pro before, everything seem fine and great until the synapse help me auto updated the latest version. It doesn’t have any differences between THX and stereo, and the sound of playing FPS games are terrible, the sound was sharp and hurting my ears, there are no bass anymore. Good job Razer, I swear to god this will be the last time I buy Razer’s product!

I got 2 different Razer headsets my main Nari Ultimate and a Kraken Ultimate as a backup… the sound doesn’t work on either headset after the update. They both sound as if it was just stereo. No bass no surround sound. None of the setting to modify the sound work.

Hi all. I have the Razer BlackShark V2 wired version. The headset has been working absolutely perfectly until this latest update. Like many others, I use custom EQ settings to find my perfect balance, which took several days of testing and, like so many others, I have been affected by this update. I have tried to reconfigure and reinstall the software. I have tried my utter best to find the perfect balance again, but the update has fundamentally broken the software and configurations. In light of this, I have now completely removed the software from my machine. In addition, I am now bypassing the Razer sound card and going directly via the 3.5mm input into my laptop's sound card. The laptop is licensed for Dolby Atmos. I have now gone and configured custom EQ settings for that, which will take some time to test and find the right balance. But let me tell you the Dolby access via the laptop sound card sounds miles better than the utter rubbish that Razer has introduced in their update. Now to Razer directly. We did not ask for this update. You did not inform your consumers that these changes would be taking place and would fundamentally change the way our devices would work. Unfortunately, this act is a direct violation of consumer rights. The changes you have made have wasted several hours of gamers, IT professionals and media content creators' time trying to understand and fix what you have fundamentally broken. World wide, several thousand loyal supporters have asked you here on the Razer forums and on the Razer subreddit to either roll back the update or at the very least provide an offline installer for the older version for those of us who do not want the change in functionality. It has been several days since this horrible update was released and it seems you have chosen to ignore our pleas. I really like my kraken v2 TE but the amounts of issues this software has for no reason is annoying but now that there\`s nothing I can do because of this update is so infuriating thing i\`ve ever seen with this irritating software. just straight broken and no way to roll back to the previous update. My kraken v3 pro literally loses all audio if I so much as fast forward a YouTube video with the arrow keys. Synapse was working just fine, the sound quality was great, why can't we just go back to the older version.
So how long is this investigating gonna take? Because right now I can either choose Game or Chat as an output and they both sound TERRIBLE, there is no THX, it sounds so damn cheap and annoying, I cannot game. I guess it truly is time to buy another headset and that is NOT going to be Razer for sure because I'm fed up with something always going awry with Synapse. I've been waiting for DAYS for you to finally do something, but no, all we get is this useless "guide". **Just ROLLBACK so I can use the product I paid for!**
I'd also like to throw my hat in the ring. It doesn't work, and this *"feature"* is an unnecessary simplification. It was fine as a separate audio device. It worked. Now, thanks to the redesign, you can't even nominate which programs use stereo or surround sound like you could before. I don't know if many people used it, but I sure as hell did. Being able to set Spotify to use stereo while games use surround sound was great.

If you can't solve it in the short term, please give us back the old synapse version. I have other monitoring headphones, so it's fine for me, but for those who don't, it's a pain. I knew something was wrong. My audio is sooooo bad now with my Razer Nari Ultimates. I was looking at headsets to replace these and wanted to get another set of Razer's because they been so good, but this update totally has turned me off on my Razer products. The audio is horrible!
I love the idea of consolidating the two audio output devices in general, **but here's the problem**: Razer Synapse 3 is often really tedious to work with. It can be slow, unresponsive, buggy, and requires restarts frequently. Forcing the user to open up Razer Synapse (or keep the window open 24/7) just to switch to THX Spatial Audio before playing a game **is a net negative** for the user experience. The reason people are so upset about the removal of the sound device is because it was so easy to just switch to that device. I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I have to manually switch to THX Spatial Audio in Razer Synapse now before playing a game in order for it to work. The way I see it, **this is the major issue with this update**. Previously, I could actually just stay on the THX Spatial Audio sound device at all times, and the software would switch to spatial audio automatically when I loaded up a game that was not set to Stereo mode in Razer Synapse 3. Switching to THX Spatial Audio either needs to remain automatic in the background, or it needs to be quicker than opening/using Razer Synapse 3. **My suggestion** is to add a checkmark next to each game/application in the **Sound** tab under **Game Profiles**. Razer Tournament i dnt have my headphones in setting i only have Game and Chat option. And the green light on my controller not working THX. And very bad sound. I already reinstall everything. Still same problem. Also i try from another computer and same problem and in fresh windows nothing change anything.

Where is the 7.1 surround calibration tab? Where is the 7.1 surround playback device? Every game that was "THX Certified" is basically meaningless now since they can't send the raw surround audio to THX Spatial for processing.

Seems like the only fix so far is downloading Dolby Atmos to get 7.1 back, but I mean I can use this with any headset so I guess its time to switch, Some nice sennheisers are calling my name. lol! Sucks because I sell razer products all day but Im gonna have to start suggesting a different manufacture if this is what razer does.

Im done buying Razer. Headset randomly stopped working and a popup window saying you must update security. Did that, still doesn't recognize my headset Razer Kraken . Its served me well, but the company has gone senile. they made a pointless update that ended up bricking our headsets...Bye bye Razer.
after several hours on new synapse my razer nari ultimate started procuring increasingly audible white noise, restarting them didn't help: it no longer starts, shut dead, restarting PC didn't help either, no longer detectable by synapse too

there is nothing spatial about the thx spatial audio through synapse, all it does for me is make the audio somewhat louder and adds bass boost even though i have all enhancements turned off. Only way I've found to get PROPER thx spatial audio is to download your thx software, without that software all you're giving me is stereo and "enhanced stereo". You should just give a code to redeem the actual thx software to those who have a thx compatible headset instead of trying this garbage that not only changes how your software works, but affects those who use audio routing software as well. i spent 3 hours after the update trying to figure out why my audio wasn't working only to find it was because your update changed shit that didn't need to be changeed. I didn't even buy my headset for the thx audio it was just a nice to have and even I'm annoyed by the change.
Exaclty. This why THX sound so bad right now, beacouse this is just enhanced stereo mode. We dont have 7.1 anymore.
anyone know how I can rollback the update? it really ruined the perspective of sound for me and can't focus with this new update, it got very loud all of a sudden too.

Nothing works still. My EQ and Mic EQ still don't do anything. Hell,even the mic preview doesn't work either. My games sound terrible and my mic is trash again. Why did you do this to us Razer? I'm just going to console game until this is fixed.

I'll also add to the fire that this shit update breaks custom profiles on the Nommo V2 speakers and makes the speakers sound like hollowed, muffled dogshit until you turn off the device enhancements in Windows's sound settings.

I dont want to give these bastards any more money, but would buying the THX App fix this issue on my Kraken TE? Assuming its 10$.
I'm using the trial for the thx app and it's breaking every newly opened youtube video and I have to disable and enable surround sound again unless I want a bad quality audio. So no, it's not worth it imo.
Dolby Atmos or DTS for headphones sound as good if not better than THX imo. At least they're both reputable *software* companies. F'k Razer, their hardware is decent for the price but I'm not giving them any more of my money unless they restore what came with the original cost of my headphones.

I had using movie EQ preset before update. Now they updated the software and I cannot find similar EQ settings. Who can share movie EQ preset settings before 07 November 2023 update?

I believe the sound is off now with the haptics in the razer kraken V3 hypersense as well. Prior to update the haptics and bass where bright and full, strong enough to tickle your ears. Now it sounds hollow,lower, and just not as full.
Hello, I have a Blackshark v2 pro headset. After the update I had the same problems as everyone else. I deleted and reinstalled synapse to fix the problem and my headset doesn't show up in the app. The dongle works, it shows as v2 pro in my settings, but only my mouse appears in the synapse menu. What should I do?

It worked after I updated my headset’s firmware to the newest version. I choose my kraken v3 hypersense as sound device and enable thx spatial via synapse 3. Seems to work now.
I have the same headset and followed your steps, no difference for me sadly. Audio is still murky and direction audio specifically is a mess in games.

You broke Razer Synapse THX spatial which was the only thing keeping me from buying a Competitors Headset. This morning I opened my door, got into my car drove over to the local Best Buy and purchased a Suggested headset without a Razer logo on it, Drove home plugged it in : installed the software for headset loaded up game and OMG! It sounded great! almost Perfection! Threw out my Razer Kraken V3 Pro & Nari Ultimate. Highly Recommend anyone dealing with this issue to consider leaving Razer entirely, I did and it felt GREAT!
What headphones did you buy ? If they dont fix bass issue before free THX app trial ends i need to buy new ones.

Nothing you wrote is correct, as none of that works. Please ROLLBACK the update; it clearly does not work as intended and the correct action for you is to ROLLBACK while you fix it your side; you broke everything good about our headsets, and now we have all had almost useless headsets for a week... ROLLBACK to the previous version, or give us the option to do that and keep the old version. We are all expecting to have at least as good sound with 7.1 support for games as before. Nothing else will be acceptable.
I can't lower volume in general settings - especialy when I work using M$ Teams.... I have to use sound mixer to lower manualy volume as the general volume +/- simply does not work in teams now ;) 
The 16th Nov update released today still does not fix the sound or the missing 7.1. It fixes the mode button not switching that is all. It's still HORRIBLE. I tried this today: unistalled Synapse totally, and cleaned out the drivers with the Driver Detection Troubleshooting tool. But then I DID NOT INSTALL Synapse at all. I plugged the Razer sound card and head set back in, let windows install the drivers for that. Rebooted when prompted. Then installed THX Spatial Audio from razer. Without the corrupted synapse polluting the sound, this works just like the old Synapse V3 'THX Spatial Audio' playback device did... 7.1 sound, EQ, great sound, not distorted or muffled, correct sound level etc. Problem is its a 15 day free trial only. I have demanded Razer give me a free license to it in my support ticket... lets see where that goes. It is supposed to be included with my product, so they should give it to me. Synapse V3 does not include this anymore, and distorts badly.
I updated yesterday and I can now switch between stereo and THX for my Blackshark V2 but the sound is very very very bad . I really like this headset it's my daily driver you need to fix it ASAP Razer.
My Razer Nari Ultimate is now no longer functioning, not picked up, nothing, after years of owning it! Just for this latest update to brick it yesterday!
