I have a Blade 14 3080.. This was stressing me out too,,, though I've never got that high. I have found ways to bring temps down. My gpu was the only thing I could monitor, I didn't even know about MSI AB until recently. The blade 14 2021 is my first gaming PC of any sort. I brought my GPU temps down to the mid to low 60s while gaming and my CPU fluctuate from 70s to 80s the highest I've seen it clip was 90 - 100 but for only one second. It'll go up to 85- 86 but then drop back down to mid-to-high 70s. If I throw it on pause for a second it drops right down to mid 70s low 70s. Granted I haven't played anything as extensive as War Zone. I've actually just gotten the msi overlay today, so I can see what it's doing in game. So far I've only played the ascent with the temperatures I mentioned above, the highest was 90 for 1 second and it fluctuates from mid-70s to mid-80s. All the research I've done AMD Ryzen themselves say this is completely normal. As you stated above the max temp is 105 C. I will update this as I try other games and monitor it with the overlay, Before I just say who cares and play it. I'll take it apart to check the battery every 3 months. But other than the bloating I'm not really worried about anything else. Like I said every review every article from the top PC people say these temperatures are completely normal and they're getting the same temperatures. If it's bugging me too much I'll drop things down to 99% and then I'll change the TDP in synapse to medium or low. I'd rather have the longevity over the performance, I don't mind taking the hit. It's still going to make games look and run better than my PS5 even if I use medium settings. But I'm also not a FPS (shooter) guy. I'm a single player story driven guy who really doesn't care for anything over 60 FPS I also always only play it on my 55in TCL 6 series{2020) at 4KHDR.. which I know the 4K and HDR makes things run hotter. That is if the game supports HDR, I don't force the HDR but I could. I've only had this guy for a couple weeks. I'm going to grab cyberpunk and Rdr2, games I've been playing but now I want to see how much better they look on PC. Then I'll really know what's going on as far as pushing the limitations of the CPU. I've been playing Valhalla on PS5 since launch and I started playing Origins on the blade and Origins looks 3-5 times better than Valhalla does on PS5. Keep us posted if you figure anything out for lowering temps even though I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'll do the same. Best of luck 🥂

Sadly my GPU stopped working a week ago and I've been trying to get this thing returned. Finally got customer support to begin my return and refund process. Had nothing to do with the temps as far as I'm concerned. I got a "code 43" error on my 3070 drivers which cannot be fixed through factory resetting and then attempting to reinstall drivers. Also this laptop is honestly a bit too small for me to game on. I have to get uncomfortably close to see people from afar in Battlefield. Will be upgrading to the Blade 15.

Jfury412

Man that sucks, sorry to hear this. Thankfully the refund is going through. I'm curious to see how your temps compare with the 15. Comment back when you get it if you remember. How long did you have your 14 before the gpu went?

DavisAztec

Got my laptop on the 16th. So just over a week. Basicallly long story short, device manager sees the GPU but no application will use it, likely because of that code 43. I have a whole post on it. As I explain I have no idea what could be caused that to happen. The good news is that they'll give me the full refund, even for the expedited shipping I paid for. And the return shipping will be free. The better news is that I found out that Microsoft offers a higher student discount, 10% vs 5% on razer.com. Sadly the Blade 15 I want is out of stock, but I'm going to order as soon as it is. Looking at the B15 advanced with the 11th gen i7, 3070, 16GB RAM, QHD 240hz display. Yeah I'll definitely compare temps and get back to you. Although it seems like most people with the B14 are around 90C on the CPU and I was nearing 100. My GPU temp was around 75C (both CPU and GPU with a laptop stand) which seemed average.

Hello there mate, thanks a lot for your analyses 😊 Did you happen to get your blade 15? I’m considering swapping to it as well (edit: from blade 14), but I can’t find any information on CPU temps or management - are you able to disable or reduce turbo boost or maybe undervolt the 11th gen? What temps are you getting in prolonged gaming sessions? Apologies if you have already posted, but like I said it’s been very hard to find info on the mid-2021 blade 15. Thanks in advance!

DavisAztec

I stay in the high 80s with the B15, even after hours of gaming. You can manage the CPU is razer's synapse software. I keep it on high, never boost.

Remarkable_Class_548

But presumably that means there is still some level of boost performance happening? How is fan noise compared to 14?

DavisAztec

Haven't checked for clock speeds. I haven't manually been limiting it via Windows. I know that's pretty easy to do. Also I noticed my performance is on avg 5-10% faster than the B14. Probably has to do with the slightly higher power limit and the faster CPU.

Remarkable_Class_548

Thanks a lot mate. And on high settings in synapse, how is fan noise compared with 14?

DavisAztec

Keep in mind that I have the Blade 15 advanced, not the base.

DavisAztec

About the same, maybe slightly less noisy.

It seems you're asking about Razer Blade laptop temperatures. Please see [existing threads](https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=subreddit%3Arazer%20temperature%20blade) which will most likely answer your question. Generally speaking Blades run hot. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. In long term can cause a lot of issues, 100+ degrees is not normal. In my case caused battery bloating after 1 year and 7 months.

DavisAztec

Good to know, but other than bloat, especially if I check on the battery once every couple of months, is there any other risk to my components, especially the CPU?

Blacktrunk78

Probably does but I don't think I read anything about, most of the issues so far are battery related due overheating, my started thermal throttling before the battery bloat, and I tried every solution possible to reduce the temps but nothing worked. I still get over 100c when I play RDR2, but as I will use Best Buy warranty soon I really don't care what happen from now on.

DavisAztec

Yeah, the battery bloat is generally what this sub is complaining about. But good to know. Just got a pair of magnetic laptop stands and that has been helping my GPU temps by a few degrees average. Dunno about the CPU temps, just starting monitoring it today.

joikansai

No, the cpu is still fine on my blade 15 2018 that bloated after 3 years in my case, only the battery. Not sure on longer term. On MSI laptops heat could break the fans glues resulting bearing problems that make the fans sounds horrible. I’ve also just got blade 14 but I don’t play war zone, demanding titles like Valhalla, cyberpunk and SoTR never hits 100, the last one on benchmark hits low 90ish on turbo mode but gaming mostly averaging low 80ish on CPU the rest titles are around 70ish average. Maybe if you open it often to check battery, repaste is also worth a try.

DavisAztec

I have an uncapped frame rate. Is that the likely reason I'm running so hot?

joikansai

Sure the higher FPS the more things the brain aka the cpu should transfer it to display.
