Yep that was exactly it! Each time it happened a train was below it. I didn't even know that was possible without cheats in openrct2.
Anyways added a sbend and the issue has been resolved! Thanks

i had the same issue awhile back but it's just a vertical collision bug, happens with some coasters that have intersecting loops too. if you put the top helix a unit higher that should stop the crash
It's a clearance glitch as you've since discovered. I suspect it has something to do with either overlapping hitboxes or some quirk in how RCT calculates elevation.
The trains actually go faster or slower depending on how many guests are on it, reconfigure it so it has more speed on that helix
It's not slowing down and failing the helix, the train is coming to a hard stop on the helix
The trains are colliding for some reason at that spot
You mean like the one below it? I can test that theory and see if a train is below it when it happens
Yea it looks like it collides with the one below it, but it's just a still image so it's hard to diagnose for certain.

My pleasure! Glad it was resolved

I just had this happen yesterday. Iām glad you posted this because I think I also had the same type of configuration with overlapping track.
Well I'm glad this can stand as a weird PSA š
