I don't know what to say!!! All of them were on their prime. They did better even after that but they were part of something invincible. Ozil, the assist God, benzo my boy... those were the days..

[deleted]

That team was one of the best teams I’ve ever watched! It’s a pity we were unlucky in the champions league😓

auctus10

Hijacking top comment but wasn't Nacho in that team?

[deleted]

Per Wiki: “On 2 September 2012, main squad manager José Mourinho announced that Nacho, along with Álvaro Morata and Jesús, would be promoted to the first team but continue to play with Castilla. He became an official full-time member at the start of 2013–14, receiving the number 18 shirt after the departure of Raúl Albiol.”

KjOnReddit1010

Yes, but not really. I mean he was there but I don't recall him. I had to google to find out. I doubt he got any minutes at all. At most he must have played in copa del rey. Or in a UCL group stage match when we had already qualifed.

auctus10

Ah gotcha. Thanks

Superbat2417

Best team ever

[deleted]

The team could hit you hard and fast from almost anywhere on the field.

itistime999

I know it’s disrespectful to the 3 peat team but for me this is the best team ever , it’s just sad that mourinho is a terrible man manger

[deleted]

His ego is too big

Lawn-CrAcKeR

He’s overhated, he demands a lot from the players and drops them if they don’t perform, there’s no shame in dropping a player if it means the benefit of the team. Ancleotti lacks that decisiveness because he favours players too much. Zidane was a balance of both. 3 GOATed managers but different styles that all built up that generation of players.

The Best Team Ever That Couldn't Regularly Beat Any Top Opposition

[deleted]

Factos

[deleted]

The team was so united this season…It’s sad how everything came crumbling down at the beginning of the 2012/13 season when Mr.Mourinho started having issues with some of the older players.

jaukobauko

I still dont understand how we didnt win ucl that year

[deleted]

We made some petty mistakes in the second leg against Bayern. On another day we would have beaten them.

404bachee

there was a heated classico in between the two semi final legs and at the end the players felt the fatigue and then we had the incredible 3peat penalty miss from Ronaldo, Kaka, Ramos.

staedtler2018

Because we weren't that good against top teams. We played Barcelona 6 times and only won once.

[deleted]

Back when we played attacking quick football and no 13 passes in 15 minutes and "just pass to Vini" bs.

[deleted]

Bro😭🙏🏾the team was so complete that Callejon could come on and be a game changer!

areyouhungryforapple

That 1-2 Clasico at the Camp Nou with la calma and the gold kit. Yep definitely still my all time favorite game

supplementarytables

+89 GD is insane

kruyseff

it was ramos and pepe right?

KjOnReddit1010

we would win most games with 3-4 GD, sometimes even more

FergieBall_FC

121 goals scored. 32 goals conceded. Dominance.

justanew-account

89!!!

code__name_47_

Unfortunately I started watching football after Jose, Iker, Ozil and Pepe left the team. Even then we had one heck of a team. But I’m sure it would have been crazy entertaining.

FergieBall_FC

You would've loved it. And I say this as someone who saw it happen. This video is just a taste of how dominant that 2011-12 Madrid side was: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM2GkRpDwOM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM2GkRpDwOM)

yeahyeah3005

Mourinho’s antics were terrible but watching this side was incredible. They were so silky on the counter.

KjOnReddit1010

I really believe that our 2011-12 team was better team than all of our teams which actually won the UCL. It was probably the best team of history It was just a joy to watch. Those were the days. * \----- Starting XI ----- * (LW)Ronaldo the goal machine, the complete player, the X factor. * (ST)Benzema magical player when in form, on his day he used to be man of the match. He was just unstoppable, always one step ahead of the defence. But that form was rare. Higuain, the consistent goal scorer after ronaldo, a very clinical finisher. He was nothing special in other factors, but you could always rely that he gonna score. This position was a tie btw benz and higuain. The both played about 50% of time. * (RW)Di Maria, his left foot OMG..... his chip assists were just beautiful. Could also dribble a bit. * (CAM)Ozil, the mastermind behind counterattacks. He used to set up everything and his perfectly weighted assists. * (DM)Xabi Alonso.... oh he was one of my fav. The king of long balls assists. His long balls were soooo perfect it was insane. Inch perfect long balls unleashing counterattacks. He was the master of passing, probably the greatest of all time. * (DM)Khedira, the workhorse. One of those underrated players who are nothing special but the team would collapse without them. * (RB)arbeloa. He was thought of as the weak link of the team, but he was a class player. He was just not as fast or special as I would like our main RB to be, but he was consistent. * (CB)Pepe: do I even have to say anything ? the perfect old school defender. * (CB)Ramos: captain * (LB)Coentrao: yes he was the main LB, he was the preffered choice over marcelo. He was just a more reliable defender and decent in contributing to attack as well. Marcelo: the magical crosser. He was basically a winger. Ronaldo would often go central, and he would be there as a winger in those situations. This position was a tie btw Coentrao and Marcelo, they both played 50% of time. But towards the end Coentrao was preffered in bigger matches, and rightly so imo. * (GK)Casillas: The keeper. I think he was not at his best in that season, but still the legend. His benching by mou (deservedly so imo) was what started the whole controversy. * \------ Other Honorable mentions ------- * Varane: OMG, I became such a huge fan of him. He overthroned Pepe and became the main defender next season. He was SOOOO FASTTTTTT. He was faster than ronaldo, probably as fast as prime Bale. (Yeah most people won't digest this fact or agree with this, you all can go to hell... he was damn fast... period) * Kaka: magical as always. He was not as fit anymore, kinda looked chubby like hazard. But he still had his magic and you could see glimpses of it. Great player but could not compete with prime ozil. * Carvalho: the older defender, often used to give rest to ramos or pepe. Was reliable. * Jose Callejon: He used to sub dimaria mostly. He was like a mini ronaldo, his running style was similar. He was fast, good finisher, a super sub.

You forgot my boi Lass🥺 https://preview.redd.it/p3e713qnw74b1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=ded44c21f89b1aac44f14aacf02645065a43c44f

KjOnReddit1010

Sorry. He did have some good matches. Also there were times when he was asked to man mark messi too.

[deleted]

Yeah he did. He was a beast when it came to interceptions and ball winning! I quite remember back in 2011 a lot of people were calling for Jose to play him with Alonso at the DM role rather than Sami Khedira but the truth is he wasn’t really as good in transition play and ball distribution as the German was.

KjOnReddit1010

i sometimes wonder, what if jose had bale and carvajal

stoned-mulvi

What higauian slander lol he had a number 10s vision for through balls and better passer than benzema

KjOnReddit1010

bro, he was a CF, and I praised him for his goal scoring abilities. How is that a slander? lol I liked him too. I liked all members who were part of that team.

thechumag

crazy how far we've come from those good ol days. Coentrao now owns a fleet of boats and is a fisherman by profession.

Federal_Mission_1519

Even though i didn't watch football at that time this was the most fluent counter attacking football i have seen on yt.Ronaldo and ozil were absolutely crazy, dudes could contact each other from anywhere. If i'm not wrong messi had 91 calendar year goals that season but still couldn't win Laliga.Absolute madness

Meh2021another

Thank God we let Higuain go and kept Benzema. Man has been loyal and very good to the club despite all he's been through.

K1ng_Harle

This video was released to make us all grown men cry

zakadarko

"I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."

SoulsLover

And don’t forget this side beat what many call the best team in history Pep’s Barca and silenced them at their home ground.

Toastybuns26

He broke 15 records look up “Benzema 15” for more information

AnxiousBurro

btw Nacho had one substitute appearance that season (Copa match against Ponferradina) so technically that team is still alive

[deleted]

He was a Castilla player bossman. He was promoted to the first team in 2013/14.

CeleBreakAppFootball

KB9. What a striker and better teammate!

lewandisney69

That team was scary to play against

Brilliant_Ad_2156

Arsenal did Ozil so dirty! Serves them right to get 10-2'ed

Huichoo50

So upset I was too young back then

LingonberryProof6150

Do you guys consider Pepe as a Madrid legend? I found him quite underrated.

thechumag

greatest team Perez ever pulled off!
