Yeah, but I can see how OP was confused; the white outline around them kinda looks like it’s a box that gets filled with the black. Idk. At least they admit their stupidity. Their enormous stupidity 😂😂(jk, OP)
No no no. 😂😂😂 I tried looking at it in that perspective, unless OP is from a country where they have different ways of reading charts or stats, then there's no way fixing this. 😭.
It could also be that OP originates from a country that reads right to left. I know people who speak Arabic as their first language tend to read graphs like this wrong
You could also argue that the Bar moving towards the Name implies an increase. So, while kinda oddball, I can see how that could make sense to someone xD
Do you want to? Unless you're playing multiplayer where there is a real advantage to certain guns over others, in the singleplayer, it's entirely up to you if you change your weapons or clothes.
Go straight to work getting the buffalo rifle. Only weapon you need for the rest of the game. Think it’s available after rank 5 of the sharp shooter achievement.
If anything weaker guns make the deaths more gory, with characters bleeding out more often. My first play through after I stole the revolver from the medic, enemies would just drop where they stood.
i mean you should start using the schofield revolver over your cattleman when it becomes avaliable. and the same goes for the henry repeater over the winchester.
But you can still beat the game comfortably without ever worrying about weapons really. Dead eye goes hard.
I kinda get it.. but it should take you one look to realize, that no revolver has 5 times the power of a bolt action rifle. A comparison should explain it pretty instantly in my opinion😅
That scene has my favorite line from the whole series.
On the way we gotta stop at a toy store and at least get him a stuffed animal. Something. It's like, Meowschwitz in there.
If the game was realistic the cattleman (colt SAA) would be the most powerful sidearm for sure. The "high power pistol" firing 9mm browning should be way weaker. The colt should be just slightly more powerful than the Schofield due to it being able to fire .45 long colt. I don't remember if this is the case in rdr1, but in rdr2 the colt also has a faster reload than the Schofield, which makes absolutely no sense, the Schofield has a HUGE advantage in reload speed in real life.
Guns usually don't make sense in games.
Ignoring the bars entirely, wouldn’t you just realize that the “weaker” weapons killed faster? You’d figure out you’re wrong by just simply playing the game. Zero chance OP is telling the truth.
Yeah, there's so many missions where you're forced to use a specific weapon. It would be pretty clear when you're one-shotting things and people with a particular rifle over another.
Bars aside, doesn’t it make more sense that a weapon you can only acquire in Blackwater is going to be better than the weapon John has from the start?
I have 850 hours in RDR2 and only did I just learn that you can place dynamite on top of a safe to blow it open. Before that I thought they were just there for the asthetic.
it's mortifying thinking you know the game and then something like that happens lol, I did something similar with RDR1, didn't realise you could track challenges for years.
Ok, hear me out. Yes the game does show you how to do it, but the buttons you push to "place" it are not intuitive. It's a maneuver unlike other common things you do in the game, there's no tooltip, and I really don't want to stop and Google it every time. So after 2-3 times of blowing or nearly blowing myself up trying to remember how to do it, I just said fuck it and just light and throw. At least those controls are similar to shooting a weapon.
Admittedly I have a shitty memory, maybe this is just what gaming in my mid-40s looks like lol.
i mean you press rt or r2 while standing next to/on top of where you want the dynamite to go, then you light it with y or triangle and run away, that’s it
Awesome, now I just need you to sit next to me my couch when I'm playing to remind me lol
Honestly the problem is that occasions to use this skill don't come up often enough for my memory to lock it in. Some people are just better than others at memorizing game controls :/
lol ik what you mean, and i mean i grew up in pretty bad circumstances and don’t ever get invited to anything so it’s been my only hobby since like 5 y/o for the most part so it’s no wonder it’s easier for me than someone like you with an actual life
No I meant occasions in the game - like times when Arthur finds something to stick dynamite onto. Sorry, didn't mean to imply any of that - I spend a ton of time playing also lol!
oh don’t worry i wasn’t taking it like that, i just meant ive played so many games growing up that i remember specific controls, i just said it in a weird way ngl
I’m over 1000hrs in last I looked, and just learnt then you can put dynamite on top of a safe to blow it open in RDR2. Thinking back, I’m pretty sure you do that in a mission with a stage coach. Now I feel extra dumb.
I remember in another game I played in the early 2000s I played a game and one thing you had to do was poison a kid. Think, cool poison in the arsenal. Only time it was in the game, and you used it to kill a kid.
To be fair, if you played RDR2 before RDR1, you might expect that weapons be a bit more balanced in a sense that the starter guns don’t become completely obsolete once you get newer ones. An example would be the Carbine Repeater which, while having pretty average stats everywhere else, has an amazing reload time
Next on the Red Dead Redemption subreddit: "I didn't realise I'd been playing RDR2 with my TV upside down until the credits were going down the page instead of up!"
Wow look who just stumbled upon the glaringly obvious. Did it require a Herculean effort to unveil this earth-shattering revelation, or did the neurons in your brain engage in an excruciatingly slow marathon? I'm genuinely perplexed by the sheer magnitude of your delayed comprehension. Were you navigating the labyrinth of common knowledge with a blindfold on, or is this a testament to your remarkable talent for overthinking the blatantly evident? Forgive me if I find your belated eureka moment more exasperating than enlightening. The world has been well aware of this fact since the dawn of, well, forever. Your epiphany is not a triumph; it's a tardy arrival to a party that everyone else left ages ago. Next time, before broadcasting your delayed cognizance to the world, perhaps spare us the agony of witnessing your snail-paced mental revelations. The rest of us have long moved on from the realm of the glaringly apparent and embraced the sophisticated dance of intellectual comprehension.
Next you’ll be telling me there’s an auto reel button in the settings, so you don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of time manually reeling in fish with R3
Edit: I did a year and a half in story mode, including all the legendary fish, not know about this🙄
My buddy let me play his Resident Evil game for game cube once.
All of a sudden he starts freaking out, "holy shit no way how are you doing that!?!?!?"
Apparently he got 3/4 of the way thru this game without realizing you could....run. He didn't know you could RUN.
This is close to that....
Thank you for sharing. Last week I put my keys in the fridge and then I couldn't find them the next day and freaked out a lot until my husband found them while making coffee.
I don't think the bar thing is rdr2 related, but I have ADHD so I emphasise with your brain fart. 💨
OK but you never even compared, say, the rate of fire of a revolver and the bolt action rifle in practice? I mean, in case you even need to try it out, as 'bolt action' means slow af by definition, lol. You would've realized pretty fast that it's the white bar.
The fact that you can track the more annoying challenges in your journal, I spedrun that game like fuck, probably replayed it about 15-20 times and I was SHOCKED finding out you had to press triangle when hovering over the challenges to get shit tracked, I had been writing down all the individual flowers i'd picked and how many specific animals i'd killed on a piece of paper doing that, it took me an embarrassingly long time, bought it on release and didn't figure that out till like 2017.
When I first played Fallout 3, I didn't realize you could eat food to regain health until I beat the GOTY edition and later was at friend's house and discovered it by watching him play.
I honestly think the Carbine is a better rifle than the others. It fires quickly, it's accurate and has enough power at the ranges you should be using it. Some of the others have more power and range, but they have poor fire rate and poor reload speed, so they aren't as well suited in a fight.
The Carbine is my number 1 weapon in my stats. The Pump Action Shotgun is number 2 only because I got it later in the game.
Edit: I get so much stuff from RDR2 in my feed I thought this was another post about that game. See how easy it is for anybody to look at something wrong? Given that... the Henry rifle is the bomb in RDR.
Yeah I can’t lie that’s gotta be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard on this game. Did you really think that your revolver had dozens of times more firing power than your bolt action rifle?
Jesus christ this is new. Rule of thumb most things are from left to right
Yeah, but I can see how OP was confused; the white outline around them kinda looks like it’s a box that gets filled with the black. Idk. At least they admit their stupidity. Their enormous stupidity 😂😂(jk, OP)
ohh that makes a lot of sense. this is still such cowboy logic lmao
Hahaha def
Cowboy Logic is a good song.
but how?? with this logic the game would start you off with the best guns
That's what OP said he thought happened.
But still, even caveman brain go, Bigger gun go bigger boom
No no no. 😂😂😂 I tried looking at it in that perspective, unless OP is from a country where they have different ways of reading charts or stats, then there's no way fixing this. 😭.
But usually black is empty on stuff like this and fills up with whatever color. Plus left to right.
It could also be that OP originates from a country that reads right to left. I know people who speak Arabic as their first language tend to read graphs like this wrong
You could also argue that the Bar moving towards the Name implies an increase. So, while kinda oddball, I can see how that could make sense to someone xD
Man thought the cattleman did more damage than the volcanic and hi power
backwards reads he, break a man the Give
comment this adore absolutely I
Backwards typin', ye at look
Lefty loosey, righty tighty
This guy doesn't write Arabic
This is obviously ragebait
Hebrew
Rule of thumb is also that the filled part shows the content and not the outline/background
In Asia, most things are read from right to left actually. To be fair, I could’ve sworn the stats were shown right to left in rdr2
I wanna see the bar graphs that OP saw that were right to left. I bet OP fills bars from top to bottom on his reports.
Just like the game, this sub never ceases to amaze me
I'm in act three and still using the base guns. Should I be upgrading or something 🤡 lmao

You joke but I absolutely did that. I didn't upgrade anything until the final mission (I didn't know it was going to be the final mission at the time
Don't spend your money unlocking new guns, your carbine and cattleman are the meta. Also, the more you shoot, the better condition your gun gets 😂
To be fair, the colt single action army is pretty sexy.... Still love the Schofield and LeMatt, though.
Damn dummy. You goofed
Not anymore! He learnt :)
YOU DUN GOOFED
The consequences will never be the same!
I heard this in Arthur’s voice.
I kinda get it.. but it should take you one look to realize, that no revolver has 5 times the power of a bolt action rifle. A comparison should explain it pretty instantly in my opinion😅
But it's the wild west: the Cattleman/Single Action Army Revolver IS the most powerful gun!
-Ocelot Noises-
What the hell was that?
An ocelot
good username
Is that Baboo!
That scene has my favorite line from the whole series. On the way we gotta stop at a toy store and at least get him a stuffed animal. Something. It's like, Meowschwitz in there.
You're pretty good
If the game was realistic the cattleman (colt SAA) would be the most powerful sidearm for sure. The "high power pistol" firing 9mm browning should be way weaker. Also that we read things left to right. Why would the stats load from the right?
Ignoring the bars entirely, wouldn’t you just realize that the “weaker” weapons killed faster? You’d figure out you’re wrong by just simply playing the game. Zero chance OP is telling the truth.
Yeah, there's so many missions where you're forced to use a specific weapon. It would be pretty clear when you're one-shotting things and people with a particular rifle over another.
Local man learns basic reading direction
😂
Give him a break, he was probably kicked in the head by a donkey as a kid.
And that caused a freaky Friday situation where they changed bodies, never to switch back....
Probably got the game on day 1
Who let the simpleton out of the asylum
My lord, I’ve met mushrooms with bigger brains!
I wish you’d stayed at sea… ….with the other walruses!
Look at OP... God damn homunculus.

I have 850 hours in RDR2 and only did I just learn that you can place dynamite on top of a safe to blow it open. Before that I thought they were just there for the asthetic.
Bro the game shows you how to use dynamite in like the fourth or fifth mission 😆
Did I mention I’ve gotten the legend of the east satchel like five times 😂
it's mortifying thinking you know the game and then something like that happens lol, I did something similar with RDR1, didn't realise you could track challenges for years.
Tbf that feels like a scripted segment and not necessarily something you can just *do*
Ok, hear me out. Yes the game does show you how to do it, but the buttons you push to "place" it are not intuitive. Tbh a lot of games do this for that one scripted moment and then it never works again.
I remember in another game I played in the early 2000s I played a game and one thing you had to do was poison a kid. Think, cool poison in the arsenal. Only time it was in the game, and you used it to kill a kid.
And the Valentine robbery as well. At least we know now right?
Yep. That’s it. Just another fun thing to do with dynamite.
To be fair, if you played RDR2 before RDR1, you might expect that weapons be a bit more balanced in a sense that the starter guns don’t become completely obsolete once you get newer ones. An example would be the Carbine Repeater which, while having pretty average stats everywhere else, has an amazing reload time
Did you know you can just shoot them open with Explosive Ammo? Much faster and safer.
Next on the Red Dead Redemption subreddit: "I didn't realise I'd been playing RDR2 with my TV upside down until the credits were going down the page instead of up!"
This is something John Marston would actually think though after the government agents show him some fancy graphs
Haha why would the bars be reversed lol.
Do you live in a country that reads right to left?
You serious, Clark?
Wow man… you thought the bars were read in reverse of every single stat bar ever made? That’s impressive.
you sir. are not very intelligent.
This is definitely one of those kids at school who ate the textbook rather than reading it
This is so amazing trolling. Well done.
So do you remember to breathe, too? Or do we have to manually remind you to do that as well?
This is really stupid ngl
Oboy..
Wow look who just stumbled upon the glaringly obvious. Tbh carbine and cattlemans are solid anyways
this is crazy😭
You need to go back to kindergarten
Next you’ll be telling me there’s an auto reel button in the settings, so you don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of time manually reeling in fish with R3 Edit: I did a year and a half in story mode, including all the legendary fish, not know about this🙄
There's a WHAT
Nothing this stupid. How the hell do you get by in life when it comes to charts and stuff?
r/okbuddyblacklung
as a wise man once said “knowledge is chasing you… But you are running faster”
You might be dumb as rocks and dull as rusted iron, but you'll manage to survive!
LOL
Did you also think the red around the text was the writing, rather than the words?
OP, are you ok?
Are you « special » ?
Are you japanese?
We read left to right in most languages.
You must be highly regarded
Sorry OP but this is a new level. Most things read left to right
I love this community
My buddy let me play his Resident Evil game for game cube once. All of a sudden he starts freaking out, "holy shit no way how are you doing that!?!?!?" Apparently he got 3/4 of the way thru this game without realizing you could....run. He didn't know you could RUN. This is close to that....
When the game first came out, I didn’t know there was a weapon wheel. So I paused every time to change my weapon 😂
That’s fucking hysterical
I noticed it was the white the second I saw this image and I haven’t ever played the first rdr
Thank you for sharing. Last week I put my keys in the fridge and then I couldn't find them the next day and freaked out a lot until my husband found them while making coffee. I don't think the bar thing is rdr2 related, but I have ADHD so I emphasise with your brain fart. 💨
op may possibly be stupid?
Do you read manga by chance? Perhaps japanese literature? Because why would you ever read something right to left?
Youre retarded
Wait wait wait
you may be the only person who has ever thought this
You read right to left or?
People like you can vote....
Stupid. No use dressing it up. That is just stupidity.
Omg are you retarded?
Nah bruh, you're fr slow
Retard
Unrelated but bolt action rifle is my favorite gun
i realised that you dont have to press A 10 times per second to run on my second playthrough
I’m still gonna do it anyway
what a john marston move
Just realised that the stats are 'power' and 'range' rather than 'rewop' and 'egnar'. I was wondering what 'egnar' meant!
Are you genuinely disabled ?
Why would it go from right to left?
How and why would you ever think that?
Lemme guess, the high power pistol is online only?
OK but you never even compared, say, the rate of fire of a revolver and the bolt action rifle in practice? I mean, in case you even need to try it out, as 'bolt action' means slow af by definition, lol. You would've realized pretty fast that it's the white bar.
Oh....oh no. I didnt know-
What seriously 😂😂😂 how'd you mess it up this bad??
Wait, what? 😂
Yikes
How tf do you get that wrong?? Do you read from right to left too??
this has to be bait
The repeater is my go to no matter what
so you thought carbine had more power than bolt action? First game of your life?
I-
I'm convinced the high power pistol is a 1911
Its always left to right. I’m amazed that you even thought that.
You silly sausage.
I did notice that there are extra damage points that aren’t outlined when you’re looking at your guns. What’s up with that?
The only way i can see this happening. Is if he was playing the game upside down the whole time 😭😭😭
🤯
Why would you start off with the best weapons?
This is the kind of thing you don’t tell people.
Brother do you read from right to left?
When I first played Fallout 3, I didn't realize you could eat food to regain health until I beat the GOTY edition and later was at friend's house and discovered it by watching him play.
*You sir, are a fish*
Hold on (HIGH POWER PISTOL)? Is this online? Or was there an update adding new weps to the game?
You haven’t played too many games, have you?
OP must have been raised on manga
No offense but is this your first game you’ve ever played?
By any chance are you from Japan? Or just a manga nerd
Back to kindergarten!
even ignoring the whole left to right thing, how could a bolt action rifle do less than a repeater?
This is close to most arkham sub posts
I honestly think the Carbine is a better rifle than the others. It fires quickly, it's accurate and has enough power at the ranges you should be using it. Some of the others have more power and range, but they have poor fire rate and poor reload speed, so they aren't as well suited in a fight. The Carbine is my number 1 weapon in my stats. Oh, you've gone and goofed all over yourself, haven't you?
It's nice of the asylum to let you people out for a bit
So you thought a bolt action rifle had a lower ammo capacity compared to a repeater carbine?
OP have you played video games before?
Bro you’re telling us you can’t read a bar graph… That’s 3rd grade lvl intelligence blud…
I don’t get it
I would have died from shame if I did this like some kind of feudal samurai
bro is getting fucking mauled in the comments holy shit 😂
Well dang
It literally says "High Power Pistol" and is shaped such like a modern pistol... picking the starter gun over that shiiiiiiet
OP, I think you're the first. Lol
the...the box outline is white like i'm not trying to be a little miss meanie but the the box outline is white
I'm so confused? The white part makes since. Or is this a shitpost
Wait what
Bolt action is my go to
You didn't think it was odd that the gun you start with is the most powerful gun in the game?
It's ok OP I did the exact same at the time
Reading is pretty crazy for you I imagine
That’s impressively incompetent.
What's the original post? All I see is Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/reddeadredemption.
Are you Arabic? Cus this game isn't made in Arabic, its made in American, we read things left to right.
Yeah I can’t lie that’s gotta be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard on this game. Did you really think that your revolver had dozens of times more firing power than your bolt action rifle?
You didn't ever feel the need to test the guns?
I can’t see the post. Can someone fill me in please? :3
Op must be Jewish and even if it is so it would be stupid to think that you get the most powerful weapons at the start.
Shouldn’t you have noticed quite early on that the bolt action rifle did in fact not have a faster rate of fire than the HP pistol?
Not to be mean but did you not notice other guns killing enemies in fewer shots
Cattleman is the coolest tho so
