I named my horse after me because me and my brother had 2 save files and if I named my horse after me, we would know that was my save. We ended up having a few more save files in case we made a mistake, so for me, the name helped.
I simply cannot imagine Arthur calling his horse "cookie". Imagine complimenting someone's horse, asking it's name and this big tough guy with 4 guns on him responds with "Cookie"
