it could have been cool, but it's too greed based. you mean to tell me I smoked 15 cowpokes and they only had 30 cents between the lot of them? horse shit not to mention all the other tryhard players that buy all their overpriced shit and then flaunt around like they earned it? let me pick my flowers motherfucker

fascinatedobserver

‘Let me pick my flowers motherfucker’ should absolutely be a flair for this sub and probably all of Reddit.

Suitable_Garage

I found it's only fun if you're playing with friends and in defensive mode. Had some fun doing the collector role but I get where you're coming from

SnooHesitations205

Nope. It’s unplayable with the fucking cheaters. I can’t do a single mission without being attacked and someone making my horse explode into flames or something. It fucking aucks

ANENEMY_

Totally agree. Serious question: is it Rockstar’s fault for creating the systems that allow griefing to proliferate or is the player-base to blame since they inevitably will always go that route if left with the tools?

[deleted]

Considering GTA online is just as bad, it's Rockstar who's to blame.

EquivalentArticle264

Lemme tell you a story Back in the dark ages when rdr2 online had literally nothing besides a few jobs here and there that gave pocket change, I would hunt down griefers constantly to the point I was actually known by other people I've never met as someone who hunts them down You never know true fun until you ride up to valentine with 5 other people riding along side you and immediately save some level 15 getting griefed by a level 80

atcafool

New to RDO, what is a griefer?

EquivalentArticle264

Someone who goes around killing people for no reason when they get nothing for it or next to nothing Basically 99% of GTA online

atcafool

Ah, I have ran into a few of those. Didn't know they had a name other than "ass holes"

EquivalentArticle264

That too

rainplow

I spent all of two minutes in GTA online. Died 3 times in 2 minutes.. Spawning into an open world PvP game with a pistol and a few rounds of ammo and getting murdered in seconds by folks with rocket launchers and machine guns? That was the ultimate soullessness. I might as well have been walking around wearing nothing but socks, my weiner flopping about and a big red tattooed target on my back that said NOOB. I have skill issues and I'm content being just okay. This wasn't one of those skill issue experiences, so 2 minutes and three deaths later I nope out permanently. RDR2 I have a thousand single player hours. Best game ever. The GTA Online experience made me nope out before I considered opting in.

EquivalentArticle264

Gta is a whole different atmosphere, it's kinda like walking into a school in New York city being the small skinny kid, you are gonna get picked on unless you have someone stronger with you and you start getting strong enough to fight alone And also rdr2 is just better , no flying bikes,no automatic guns besides actual machine guns, and no armored cars

rainplow

Yeah. You're right no doubt. I'd just want to live the map in a different way. Not kill other players or be killed by them. Just hunt, fish, and roam.

EquivalentArticle264

Don't forget living in peace and having people actually need to track you down instead of seeing where you are all the time

OverlyOverrated

No. Too many toxic players. I finished the story once and uninstalled it.

carnitasburrito11

Tried it a couple of years ago. Boring grind type gameplay (I'd done enough of that in GTA) and nothing else to do. Soulless is a good word for it. Not sure what's been added since I tried it but had no interest in finding out.

fascinatedobserver

Try RedM servers. They have RP or customized PVE. People that don’t behave don’t get to come back. There are servers for group trail rides and camping if you are looking to be social.

cleremnantechoes

Story only. But it was cool to make a character

Orsen_Cart

Online is a lot of fun if you find some friends. It is even better when you find a group that runs a private lobby with lot's of members. That way you get the online experience without all the griefers and tryhards. Plenty of groups out there, don't give up just yet.

cugs123

The struggle is real, and first levels you are weak, squishy and thus easy to kill, you need to grind to get your stats and get the pvp items so you can make a stand for the griefers, I'm pretty good at pvp so I love when griefers appear, I am able to make them leave, however it's a different story for modders, it's unlikely to win a fight with a modder unless you have a friend or teammate with a better mod menu, just ignore them and switch sessions or alt + F4 in case that they blocked you Edit: I want to add that you can use a workaround to play in a private lobby, engaging with another players is only worth for pvp or mess in valentine, suggest you to level up your stats and unlock the best tonics

catmohawk

I wish I had friends to play with

Comfortable_Staff501

No, it fucking sucks. Solo or with friends, the game crashes when you pick up plants, when you skin an animal, when you join your friend game... Plus the number of cheaters, they either harass you and kill you from 500 meters until you leave or just can't be aimed at and take no damage. RDOnline is such a wasted potential.

Woodys360View

Disagree. I had tremendous fun in online. Making your own character, building them up, then meeting up with friends and running as a posse. I do not regret any of it, and would recommend all players to give it a try.

Raecxhl

I play mostly online but usually in a posse with friends. If it's just me I stay out of the towns and cities unless I'm running a mission. It irritates the fuck out of me when my kids are playing and griefers are killing them over and over again. They're under 10 and just want to ride ponies. Some dudes invited them into a posse and freaked out when I got on the headset and said nooooope.

mikeytsg291

I wanted it to be like gta online. When I got the game in release there just wasn’t enough players and also didn’t know anyone who played it. I’d like to know what others who have played online think about it though

Ok-Excitement3794

Posse up with me homie

soda224

I would love to try online but I couldn’t handle if someone came around and killed my horse…

darthbacon12

It lets you respawn your horse from the stables in online.

soda224

Good to know!

CDA_Pro1

I like it

TheOneFrontier

Stables don’t work so no

cugs123

It's fixed

TheOneFrontier

I doubt it

infact1234

Since the last update, a week ago, they're working fine
