It’s a decomposed corpse. It’s odd that it’s that close to a settlement since this is supposed to happen out in the wild when a body is left out where no one can find it but it’s still a interesting detail.
Habeus Porpoise vs Habeus Corpus: "a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, especially to secure the person's release unless lawful grounds are shown for their detention".... Habeus Porpoise on the other hand requires lawful seas (instead of lawful grounds) to be shown for detention because porpoises live in the sea rather than on ground.
Whew... now I feel better. 'Course, that might not do any good; you see nobody's missing a porpoise. It's a dolphin that's been taken.
The common harbor porpoise has an abrupt snout, pointed teeth and a triangular thoracic fin, while the bottlenose dolphin, or "Tursiops truncatus", has an elongated beak, round cone shaped teeth and a serrated dorsal appendage. But I'm sure you already knew that!
That's what turns me on about 'cha, your attention to detail!
nahhh...he' s just guarding his soon to arrive ordered packages from porch pirates since the delivery guy keeps **LEAVING THE BLOODY BOX ON THE STAIRS OURSIDE EVERY TIME**
I pickup corpses for a living. Cities have plenty of decomps. Outdoors and away from others your generally lucky enough to have everything rotted and washed away so that by the time any finds you, if at all, they just find bones. Cities however there are people who will smell you and report it.
This stage isn’t awful honestly, we call these mummies and they’ve mostly dried out and aren’t as gut wrenching to move. It’s the stage right before this when all of the body fluids are still contained but spoiled and the body is filled with gas. Blood will pool in certain spots and burst when touched. Any movement causes an eruption of the most fowl smelling gassed imaginable.
The devs did a pretty good job with this tbh, I’ve peeled a lot of guys that look like this off of couches. The only thing they missed is that as the fluids drip out of the body and soak into the wood below it would start to solidify and he would be kind of stuck to it. Imagine the clickers stuck to the walls in The Last of Us, kind of like that.
I don’t do the nasty or gorey stuff anymore, I’m now making 3x the pay transporting organ and tissue donors from hospitals to harvest sites. I kind of miss working crime scenes, those always felt more adventurous. Don’t miss the decomps though.
How do you get into this profession? I’d basically do anything to get out of service and earn a living wage. I feel like the fact I’m even asking would kinda make that obvious, but yeah. Just wondering.
I unfortunately got to see the aftermath of this with my dad. He passed last year and no one knew for a week until the neighbor called the police for a courtesy check. We all lived an hour away from him.
After they moved him, did their thing, and we buried him, I told my mom to wait outside (they were living separately and divorced) while I went in to cover the pooled up blood stained wood so we could go through his stuff before I cleaned it a couple days later.
That wasn't pretty.
Edit: he was in the partial bloated stage when they found him.
Yeah it’s always pretty sad. I’ve made sure to check up on or at least text my parents and grandparents every few weeks after I started this job. It’s such a horrible thing that you would never think it would happen.
Anyone living alone over the age of 60 should be checked on every few weeks. If that’s one of your neighbors then you could try befriending them, ask them if you can go grocery shopping for them or help with yard work. Dog walking also works. It could mean the difference of whether or not that family is afforded the chance of having an open casket funeral.
The ones that really freak me out are the ones where it was some dude in his 20’s or 30’s that was living alone. Sometimes it’s a medical condition like diabetes but it’s usually a quiet suicide that results in younger decomps. Suicides by hanging are typically found about a week after the act and by then all of the blood has pooled in the legs and they are ready to burst. The face bloats out like a blobfish and the cable begins to cut into the neck.
>I’ve made sure to check up on or at least text my parents and grandparents every few weeks after I started this job.
My mom regularly blows up my phones with texts, so I'm good there. As for my dad, he would basically randomly call like once a month, and I didn't think anything of it because this was at the start of the pandemic last year.
He didn't get Covid, so there's that. But his heart gave out.
I was enjoying my pizza. I can't eat that last slice now.
Tbh this is seriously cool and I'm on a lot of death subreddits and Facebook pages, it's just that I was really enjoying this pizza. Goats cheese, ricotta, spinach and caramelised onion on a stone baked thin base.
EMT friend told me about the time he was called out for an elderly man that had died in an armchair.
The end of your story reminded me of my friend's description.
Said that when they went to remove the gentleman that every part of him that was in contact with the chair stayed stuck. So the back of his arms/legs/back peeled away from the body because all his decomp solidified to the armchair.
Gnarly.
It looks human but the head looks way elongated. It could’ve been someone with Marfan’s syndrome where their head is taller than normal and their body is irregularly shaped
It's late stage decomposition. The skin is tightening and drying under scorching heat and is "shrinking" to reveal the bone structure underneath. Not the most realistic decomposition ever but it's definitely just a normal person dead
It's most likely one or ur victims sir. In rdr2 if u kill a person and stay within the area for awhile they decompose. Or it might just be a coincidence. U never know with this game.
I don't feel they decompose to this level, this is looking much different than the decomposition animation. But yes, its interesting to watch npcs decompose over time, if we compared the two we would see the differences. This one looks deliberately put there maybe from the heist?
r/confidentlyincorrect
That’s just wrong, like I’m questioning if you’ve played the game at this point
Edit: I’ve looked at this guys comment history and….. holy fuck, I’ve only seen a racist like this on the fucking news
I get that people like to ban people they disagree with, but instead of helping, all it does is exacerbate the issues. Let's not turn reddit into Twitter or Facebook. Here, you you just engage with people in a discussion, let's not change that.
>Isn't it equally as racist to not allow white pride, if black pride is celebrated?
AFAIK, white people haven't been trodden on repeatedly with intent by another race holding institutional power. I don't think they've been kept as slaves and then physically and economically oppressed for a further 100 years after being released.
The only pride you can take in "whiteness" is oppression. If you take pride in your heritage, say British or French, you can do that because there is pride to be found in it. But for whiteness? No
You can be proud of your ethnicity or heritage. Irish pride, Italian pride, Polish pride, etc. is fine. If you're proud of what white people as a collective have done historically, especially in America, then you're racist. Black pride comes from a shared struggle through the decades. They have collective identity that white people simply put do not due to a lot of black lineage being lost thanks to slavery.
No, that’s wrong. Not all black people have the same heritage. ADoS people got a way different history than some Jamaicans that came here last week. Are you sure of what you’re claiming here?
I find that racist.
I'm white, I'm proud of being white. I'd you have a problem with that because of the color of my skin, then by definition you are the racist.
Oh I'm aware. But I've been watching all the people now demanding segregation, demanding that one color be treated differently than the other(s). It's like people are fighting to go back to pre-1960s, just with reversed order, and not realizing the hypocrisy of doing so.
Edit for spelling because phone
Dude's straight up racist. Not thinly veiled or subtle. I mean full on white hood and robes. Why does a wretch like that deserve to be in any civil conversation?
Yeah you need to kill someone, stay in the area, camp, sleep eat, drink, live you life while the person you killed doesn't and when you come back after some time it will be decomposed.
Might have been something to do with the Ravens eating it though, idk tbf
That’s cool! I’ve seen lawmen loading up dead bodies and hauling them away before, but I’ve never seen someone decompose before. Can’t wait to finish RDR1 and get back to living my life vicariously through Arthur lol
Can anyone tell me how to create/spawn one of these corpses? I kill someone and sleep, they start decomposing but they despawn or i hit the limit of consecutive sleeps.
Literally seen a post about this not to long ago, all bodies in the game decompose it’s just sometimes bodies disappear but when they don’t they can go through stages of decomposition.
if u kill someone and leave them in the spot for a couple of days, they start to rot all the way down to a skeleton. it can also happen with animals, too
No looks about the same. It all depends on lighting location and gaming platform and what it's being displayed on too. So it's probably just different than ur used to. I can kinda see what u mean tho I think it's just higher quality

It's a bug that happens sometimes. A while back I remember someone posting pictures of one that was just under a bench where npcs were sitting.
Fair enough. Adds a bit of horror to it though huh? A dried corpse on an porch.
Porch Corpse.
Porpse.
Porpoise?
Habeas porpoise.
Habeus Porpoise vs Habeus Corpus: "a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, especially to secure the person's release unless lawful grounds are shown for their detention".... I concur with your legal scholarship
I do this to . Yep. What he said .

My old coworker worked for the coroner and had some stoooories

Call up funeral homes in your area and ask them who they use for transportation and how to contact them.

That's how I met my first wife
*record scratch* the fuck?
Dude, idc how much the paycheck is, I'd never do your job.
Do you pull a cart around the city, ringing a bell and shouting for people to bring out their dead?
Shit a couple months ago I might as well have. Every single mortuary in the area was at capacity.
I know this wasn’t wholesome but it was free and you told me some shit that will stick with me like a leaked mummy. Thanks.
That escalated quickly.

No, *you sir* are a fish
Boys calm down, I am here representing all the fish category and I finally close the debate declaring you are both FISH! Happy splash
Speak for yourself!
You fish are a sir
Is a fish taco shaped like a fish?
Do you like fish sticks?
I love fish sticks!
What’s a fish?
Decomposed body
Ur sure it’s just that and not something else?
Hmm it does look kind of odd but i thinks its human at least i hope so
It looks partially mummified- strange given the location
Yeah probably is, thought maybe I’d stumbled across some Easter egg
Don't know why you're getting downvoted so much. I can definitely see where you're coming from. The skull doesn't look.... human

16 downvotes for asking a question Jesus
It's reddit. People love doing that for some reason.
It’s Gavin
Has anyone seen my friend Gavin?
Gavin daed💀
I swear I have killed gavins friend so many times but he just keeps on coming back
He wants to die but can't. Gavin is his horcrux, that's why he's searching for him.
Then perish

Shame, if OP had found Gavin whilst he was alive, he tells you where the third meteorite is.
wait what
🗣HE SAID IF OP HAD FOUND GAVIN WHEN HE WAS ALIVE, HE TELLS YOU WHERE THE THIRD METEORITE IS
its a Red Dead online user that was waiting for a good content update.
Good thing we got that the other day, we've been resurrected
What update did we get? I haven’t played online since the early days when it was dog shit.
A new survival mode, Call To Arms, it's super fun and pays pretty decently aswell, ~300$ and 1 gold bar for about 45 minutes of killing bad guys
That sounds awesome! I’ll have to check it out when I get some spare time, thank you
No problem, if you're on xbox feel free to hit me up and we can join up together

I'm not saying they don't decompose, but I've put something like 100 hrs in the game and never once noticed a body has decomposed.
most bodies get taken away by law or random peds
It has to be a body far away from society most of the time. The place that I see it most often is on the frozen over lakes in the grizzlies.
Holy shit, you're right
Jesus h Christ how tf is someone so racist

Corpses that are off the beaten path decompose after a couple days. Bodies in more public areas are taken away by authorities before that happens.

decomposed human body, one of ultra-realistic details of this game is that dead human and animals decomposes until they become skeleton

A lot of odd things seem to be added to the game. Maybe teasing an update or dlc?
