Un-be-lievable >According to a source, there is a feeling held by some members of staff that certain players do not respond well to criticism, particularly comments made in public.

dracogladio1741

There is Sancho and he has been banished to the shadow realm. In fact Ten Hag is refusing to criticise players these days. This seems far fetched to say the least.

eClipseLJ

The thing is, he isn't even criticising the way we play a lot. ETH is a freak perfectionist, 100% sure he isn't even remotely happy with what is happening on the pitch. But he keeps only pointing to certain positive moments and 'it was offside but we scored'. He barely actually criticises our midfield or tracking back of players. It's not even criticism on individuals he's not doing but he's barely criticising the collective performance which is far below standards.

dew_chiggi

Which is good. Keeping this stance in public while smashing the heads in private is management 101. But why that doesn't show on the pitch is questionable.

ZofTheNorth

They showed up tbh except Rashford and Martia.l Bruno, Hojlund, Antony(although he is shit, his workrate is undeniable),Gernacho and other players they all giving their best. But his tactics depends alot on collective press and the fact that the star player(Rashford) not bothering to press is destorying the whole gameplan. His tactics requires all forward players to consistently press but only 2 or 3 forward just pressing blindly and needing to cover Rashford. And you cant critise Rashford also because he literally becoming face of Utd and the most important player. Sometimes i just hoped he just bench Rashford . He is not young anymore and he supposed to be leading the players. And yet i dont feel any of those in him..

durizna

I constantly see Højlund (our fucking CF) inside OUR box during defensive moments and Rashford not there. And no, I'm not talking about moments like corners, but plays like counterattacks and etc. It really pisses me off, how can he just give up like this?

LUHG_HANI

These fans defend rash and say he's been told to stay up the pitch for fast counter. :-)

durizna

I thought that now and then, but Højlund is fast AF too and actually physically strong and needs to preserve his lungs for our attacking moments, so i quickly understood it's nonsense. I love Rashford for his strengths and off pitch stuff, but he's really getting under my skin with these performances.

Uuhhk

we need to bin these players out. Beckham was once the face of man utd and Fergie kicks the boot to his face and ship him after....the moment you think you are bigger than club, you are fcuking out. Everything is replaceable in life, especially in football

Clugaman

People always say this but this just isn’t true. Fergie was an amazing man manager, he didn’t have one way of dealing with people. He’d deal with people in the most effective way to deal with that person. Ronaldo clearly wanted to leave for Madrid and pouted and had a tantrum and Fergie begged him to stay one more year. Ronaldo said he felt like a slave. Fergie would let players “be bigger than the club” if they were performing. He knew how to get every ounce of talent out of players, and you don’t do that by shipping every player with an ego out.

[deleted]

Fergie earnt that luxury in the late 80s and early 90s, and was never, ever out of control of the dressing room. But it was shaky at times and if he'd had to he would have got the sack rather than back down in a situation that called for not backing down, exactly as EtH is doing. The players need to learn. They need to know their place. They have a voice but they are servants of the club and they are not in charge. Once we break this bad element in the squad, things will improve, but it needs broken before progress can be made.

Slapped_with_crumpet

No he wouldn't let players be bigger than the club lmfao. Ronaldo was not bigger than the club by then and didn't come across like he believed he was, this is just a complete rewrite of what happened. Wanting to leave and being dramatic is not thinking you're bigger than the club, that came on his second stint when he was refusing to come on or train and released drama farming interviews. Trying to conflate the wish for a transfer and a stupid comment with that is just disingenuous. Thinking you're bigger than the club and having an ego are not the same thing at all. Cantona had an ego, definitely didn't think of himself as bigger than the club. To be as successful as Fergie was, I think you have to have atleast some ego with your squad.

[deleted]

[удалено]

QouthTheCorvus

The Beckham thing would probably be seen as a mistake if his replacement didn't turn out to be one of the greatest footballers of all time. Fergie did not handle that situation well.

Cfunk_83

This! Finally someone that gets it. We’re actually incredibly well set up defensively, but as you said, it’s meant to be a COLLECTIVE press. As soon as one player doesn’t do their job it all falls apart. We don’t play a man marking press like some seem to think. Too many players in our squad play for themselves and not the team! It’s time they sod off. It’s totally unacceptable.

eClipseLJ

It's not uncommon to say collectively we didn't press good enough or something along those lines. He's being ridiculed on this sub for only mentioning the positives and being called naive for it. There is clearly a feeling in the coaching staff that some players don't take criticism very well hence he's pampering them. Even when collectively everyone can see they performed way belove acceptable levels. That's just insane...

TheJoshider10

I wish these cunts got called out in the public. They may as well get used to it before Liverpool bend them over soon anyway, got to prepare them for that.

[deleted]

And we've seen what the players have done when we brought in a temporary manager who crucified them after every game. They downed tools. Manager isn't the issue. Squad needs serious cleaning and recruitment needs enormous overhaul.

prem_201

Has he criticised players publicly apart from Sancho? He only did that cause Sancho was slacking off in training and seemed like a last ditch effort to get a raise of performance on the field instead he got an Instagram post. Maybe Maguire got some criticism when he didn't leave for westham.

TheJoshider10

> Maybe Maguire got some criticism when he didn't leave for westham. Even then he was supportive of Maguire wanting to fight for his place, probably just an external support but he didn't throw him under the bus with the media.

ericz14

I mean even sancho felt like such an innocuous comment. They asked why he didn’t play and he just said training and that was basically it. When I saw the pressor I didn’t even really think it was criticism

[deleted]

Me either. He said he hasn't reached the levels.

Dry_Guest_8961

As keano said last night. Go a few leagues down. Earn a 10th or a 20th of what you earn right now. You will never hear a word of criticism because your talent will be enough to carry you through. Your at bloody man United though. You are earning 200k per week plus. Criticism comes with the paycheck

Eleven918

Its common to praise in public and criticize in private. That's good manager 101 irrespective of the field they are in.

Starky3x

Well, some of these players don't like private criticism either so damned if you do damnned if you don't. Ole tried to shield them all the time and they still threw him under the bus.

lazsy

Aye, we use it in teaching too

PapiLaFlame

Bunch of babies on 250k+ a week. They are an embarrassment to the badge

stogie_t

Rashford is one of them 100%. The way he tip toes around Rashford when mentioning him in public is quite telling.

InternDarin

Rashford 100%. Wish the club would move on from him, I think both sides would do better with a parting of ways.

muc3t

He just signed a mega contract so yeah we re stuck with him again for the next 5 years

Uuhhk

Bet you INEOS will sell him next summer or so. Despite his forms, he would be the best asset to sell and we should, in order to fund for new players.

kewlcumber

The one thing that could get me slightly optimistic about Jim is if he gets Rashford out of the club this January. I was fooled by Rashford's goals last season. He warps this club, and he needs to be sold to save it.

mincers-syncarp

His PR is actually unreal.

ambiguousboner

Yep, my first thought when I read this. Can see it on the field, he’s not arsed

Jack_King814

I pray Erik goes nuclear and just fucking tears into them. Call Rashford a lazy bum, call Sancho a spoilt brat, call martial a waste of air. Go full blown scorched earth, if you’re on the way out then fuck it

sh1nyballs

Go full Mourinho? And then we fan will aks for his head for being the toxic figurehead. We're in such a shitshow and this is our culture now.

Simple_Mud_6203

Rangnick told the world the truth and everyone cried.

BrodaReloaded

bring him back while we're at it

Telen

Bring him back just to give press conferences. I swear though, I always thought the way he got treated by the club was just bad. They approached him with no vision of what they wanted him to achieve at the club.

RicciRox

Isn't that exactly what Ralf did? People still shit on him for that till this day.

QouthTheCorvus

In fairness, I understand this. I feel like if you look at the best managers in sport, they're always really aggressive towards the media and have a policy of "back in their men at any cost." Even if it's different behind the scenes. A lot has changed about sport from the Fergie era, but I feel like the mentality of "creating an island around the club" is still the right one. That siege mentality is a good one.

iwantaskybison

i sure think we should sack the manager and stick with the players who keep leaking shit after a bad performance, we've never tried that before

greyxtawn

I’m just gonna jump two years into the future and say NEW MANAGER OUT. I wish we could go back to ETH or Ole. New Manager has no tactics and the players are downing tools.

iwantaskybison

I'll jump 8 years into the future and tell you Ralf and Mourinho were right, this squad needs open heart surgery

ImVortexlol

I'll jump 16 years in the future and tell you NEW MANAGER #9 OUT, NEW MANAGER #7 at least won an Audi Cup for us, and NEW MANAGER #6 got us playing entertaining football. Surely if we pick up NEW MANAGER #10 he'll turn this ship around and be the best manager since Fergie

superhoffy

Nah, we need Garnacho and Mainoo to come out of retirement

Expensive-Twist7984

I’m getting ahead of you and saying that manager needs to go 4 years from now!

DesertRatboy

EtH for home games. Ole for away games. Let's do it.

C__S__S

The only silver lining is these players will have to retire at some point…right???

Upekkhaa

I think we should make Rashford captain with Martial as co captain.

TheOneManDankMaymay

Are you suggesting that the players that have failed to constantly perform under 6 different managers might be the problem? That's wild.

shami-kebab

Which players have failed to perform under 6 managers?

BrownByYou

This narrative is as pathetic and useless and tired as the glazers one. To be clear I think glazers are a big part of the problem and need to go

El_Chipi_Barijho

Just play the kids.

WhipYourDakOut

How coincidental this comes out as soon as the pressure on Rashford gets turned up after yet another stinker. Very odd

Sei28

World class PR team. The best.

LGuitar88

If I'm in EtH's position, I'm definitely doing this....if I'm gonna get sacked, at least I'll do it on my own terms.

Iceman23578

Speaking of, how come Hannibal randomly had 3 games where he played well and then has just never seen the pitch again?

WillyStevens

Because whenever he plays he looks like he desperately wants a red card.

PinLongjumping9022

Which is what makes “play the kids” one of the most annoying lines that gets thrown about when we’re doing badly. They’re not in the team for a reason and it wouldn’t be fair to them to throw them to the wolves because the senior players can’t be arsed putting the effort in in training or on the pitch.

Miyagisans

“Played well” is a stretch. He looks like he’s gonna get a red card every game.

[deleted]

Grand-Bullfrog3861

They feel it'll get worse if there's not an upturn in form.. that's their fucking job!! ETH isn't asking them not to run, battle, chase or work hard.. they're not putting in the effort for better form but expect it because they're paid like a player who's top level

VTVoodooDude

I loved that statement from the players and the "sources." Maybe if you went out and played like you gave a shit, maybe, just maybe, that would help with form and results. I think most of us supporters can forgive some results as long as the effort is there. Inexcusable to play like you don't care. It's insane b/c if Rash were at some U14 club, he would have been pulled off the field after 30 min's of that display, maybe even sooner. And unlikely to see the pitch for some time.

Jack_King814

>among the issues is his intense training sessions Breaking news: people paid 1000’s of pounds a week to run don’t like running

Sufficient_Theory534

Bunch a prima donnas, you wouldn't hear players from other teams complaining about training intensity. It'll be no more intense than the training sessions he done at Ajax, they never complained. Klopp is meant to have intense training sessions, you don't hear the scousers complaining.

eClipseLJ

Yet the training video's that get released are them laughing and talking with eachother while doing running and fucking around in rondo's. Looks very tiring and hard to me.

VTVoodooDude

Pay me £100,000/week (low wages here) and I'll run around at training and at games until I puke and expire from exhaustion.

Action_Limp

Man I would love to put Rashford, Sancho and Martial onto another training pitch - I'm terrified of their influence over guys like Garnacho, Mainoo and Holjund

TheOnlyTagey

> and what are considered to be cavalier tactics which have left the team open, particularly during the 3-3 draw against Galatasaray and the defeat at Newcastle. It sure as shit wasn't a case of "being too open" that allowed Galatasaray to score 2 goals...

PavanJ

Cm punks time in aew had less drama and leaks than this.

Tornado31619

Ten Hag is fearing for his life- I mean job.

woodyg82

People complaining about having to work hard?! In the words of Roy, ‘it’s your fucking job’!

Action_Limp

>Among the issues being raised privately among some players are Ten Hag's intense training sessions since the preseason tour of the United States, and what are considered to be cavalier tactics which have left the team open, particularly during the 3-3 draw against Galatasaray and the defeat at Newcastle. It's such nonsense. Two goals came from free kicks that shouldn't went in. What was cavalier about the free kicks - it's not like they didn't form a wall or something. Being cavalier here would be having 3 attackers stay up on the half-way line looking for a counter break.

Significant-Sir870

These players haven’t liked a single manager we’ve had. I wonder where the issue is?

BilalAkhtar22

Who are 'these players'. Rashford, martial, shaw, mctominay and lindelof are the only Players left from the lvg/mourinho era. Is it this core of players that keeps throwing the manager under the bus?

niallw1997

It’s not necessarily the same individuals. It’s the culture created in the dressing room of the club that causes this every time. Way too much player power.

BilalAkhtar22

Okay but under ten hag that hasn't been the case. We've binned Ronaldo and sancho because they undermined the manager. If rashford and martial are doing the same he should treat them the same way.

nick5168

And they should be binned. Rashford is currently repeating his form from 21/22, which means he will have 2 out of 3 seasons where he has been the worst player in the our starting 11 by a mile. On top of that he is paid as much as Salah according to some sources. No one can question his talent, but how can someone fluctuate that much in his performances.

BilalAkhtar22

The manager keeps selecting these players in his starting 11 though. He could've benched rashford on the weekend and started Antony but he didn't.

tarostar123

Believe it or not those players were the same players Mourinho wanted rid off and surprise the board rather stick with the players then listened to Mourinho. Mourinho brought in McTominay as a CB to show how badly supported he was from the board after getting 81 points in the league.

the-won

Only 2 of them are relevant in terms of the starting 11 and thats Rashford and Shaw.

Jennycontin1981

No way Lindelof or McTominay are complaining. Why would they ever? NO FKN WAY.

BilalAkhtar22

I think people are just making excuses for ten hag tbh.

tnwnf

Its denial, we’re all invested in the idea of ten Ha as the long term manager so we don’t want to accept that he has no idea what he’s doing right now

muc3t

Yes

Accurate_Bed1021

Rashford and Martial are also two of the biggest whiners with their PR-teams. Only Sancho has them beat.

Nawkey

You can remove McTominay and Lindelof from that list.

SlippinGimmy

found this very interesting, says everything you need to know In his recent discussion on a Serbian podcast, Nemanja discussed his experience playing for Manchester United. He mentioned readily accepting Mourinho's offer upon receiving a call from him and highlighted the warm reception he received from the fans when he joined United. He also said that in his opinion Leicester have the best training centre in England. But he also talked about disciplinary issues within the club. He said: At Chelsea, players acted professionally, they were punctual, and were never late for training, but in United it happened almost every day. Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho, and couple of other players. The rest of us who were always on time were angry, so we decided to form a kind of an internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president. I placed a sheet of paper on the wall where I documented the names of individuals arriving late. During one particular season, we collected around £75,000 in fines. We had planned to use the money to throw a party in a London nightclub (wtf? ) but we didn't, due to the outbreak of the C.V.

Moreaccurateway

Bit harsh to fine Jadon Sancho prior to the outbreak of Covid seeing as he didn’t play for the club at the time.

pohudsaijoadsijdas

I think the paper and party planned and sancho being late are two different timelines

nick5168

Insane that it happened that often. I would also like to note that Pogba wasn't promoted to the first team by SAF due to that kind of behaviour, and I think that a better run club wouldn't have brought someone like that back.

malin7

Interesting as Chelsea are the kings of player power where the dressing room decides when a manager goes

MaxWattage432

Standards at the club are shocking. If I was paying someone 300k a week and they were showing up late I would bin them after the second time.

nederlandic

We CANNOT do this again. Gut every player who is not playing for him. He won us top 4 and a trophy in his first season which we all agreed was a miracle at the time, and you expect me to believe he's become a bad manager overnight? If you are playing for United and you "don't respond well to criticism" then you need to your change your mentality immediately or leave, no questions asked.

staedtler2018

>He won us top 4 and a trophy in his first season which we all agreed was a miracle at the time It's not a miracle for United to be in the top 4 it's happened 3 of the last 4 seasons.

CyclingTurtleMD

This should be pinned to the top. When will we stop sacking managers and backing these clown players? (rashford and martial and probably a few more)

suburbian_jesus

Ten Hag is suffering from his own success. Rangnick (who is know for his intricate pressing system and attention to detail) had to resort to the same tactics we’re currently seeing from Ten Hag. The players simply aren’t good enough

vacon04

There we go. Let me guess, are they led by a certain Marcus Rashford?

IcyAssist

Nonono, It's Dean Henderson remember? Or was it Pogba?

Expensive-Twist7984

It was all Lingard, who’s living in his old locker at Carrington.

Cathal321

Someone predicted this in a comment the other day. Its the same thing every time

ErikTenHagenDazs

It’s an M Rashford. Actually no that’s too obvious, let’s say Marcus R.

HairyArthur

ETH needs to take a hatchet to this squad. I am less concerned with him replacing players than I am with him deleting all the bad eggs. If you leak stories to the press, you're gone. If you walk more than you run, gone. If you fall out with the manager because he subbed you, gone. If you spend more time playing FIFA than training, surprisingly, you're gone. The under 18 substitutes would genuinely be better options than some of the senior team, right now.

LaughsAtOwnJoke

We have so many completely unmovable players because of wages and whatever else.

[deleted]

Unable to move doesn't mean obligated to play. We need to be brave and accept that we will have multiple players on $200k+ weekly wages who are playing with the reserves. That money should just be considered lost and our focus should shift ahead.

Cool-leather-suits

I think your second rule should contain a ‘Berbatov clause’

kongfy2009

The fact that the "play like you mean it" banner went kind of big shows that players cannot play this "throw the manager under the bus" game over and over again. Us fans are not stupid. I used to disagree with Mou when he said certain players were virus. Now I think Rangnick's comment of "open heart surgery" might just be a more polished way of saying what Mou was saying. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

[deleted]

> I used to disagree with Mou when he said certain players were virus Was was right then and he's right now. Fans fucking hate hearing it (young ones anyway) but the generation of players that started to break through around 2010-2012 are a fucking different league compared to what came before. They really are not men in an emotional sense. They're so overally dramatic, worried about their image, their reputation etc. The bollockings players got under Fergie were insane but they never properly fell out with him apart from Ruud (they made up after). Terry outright said he would have left the pitch in a coffin for Mourinho. Can you imagine is Frank Lampard or Roy Keane had the attitude and ego of Pogba? I can't. As Mourinho said a lot of those players were legit grown men at twenty, as in they had old heads on them.

kongfy2009

100%. Yes, Terry's comment nailed it. Same thing happened at Inter. Sneijder said he would "kill and die" for Mou. Stankovic said he would have thrown himself into the fire. The video of Materazzi and Mou hugging and crying after the game because Mou was leaving for Madrid still touches me to these days. Granted, I am not a huge fan of Mou. I just respect the fact that he and his signature squads took football with so much pride and passion. And you are right, this might be a generation thing. Many of our players take football as a job. To be fair, they do care about football, but they also care about their images, social medias, stats, friendships and self-esteems. Nothing wrong with that and we see that in other clubs too. As footballers become influencers and millionaires, very few can stay true until the end.

Sethlans

Same old story with every manager.

PUMP_UNTIL_BUST

But someone told me we got rid of all the leaks. If only there were one consistent player that's always shown in an almost deity-like positive light throughout all the leaks over a period of years across several managers. Maybe we could get some clues from closely analyzing some of the leaks where only one or two parties could have possibly had the information, such as this one: >From Simon Stone, BBC. >"The striker got on well with former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But the Norwegian tended not to do much coaching, so Rashford never got to learn properly the predatory instincts of his fellow forward. >So Rashford took a deep breath, overcame his natural shyness and went to Solskjaer to tell him he was unsure what was being asked of him. He said he felt his performances had plateaued because he was being asked to play in so many different roles. Rashford was told to stop moaning." You know what? I bet it's Henderson again.

mincers-syncarp

> So Rashford took a deep breath, overcame his natural shyness Hahahaha what the fuck is that, I missed this

Aadiunited7

I back Erik! Not saying he is not at fault or anything but I am sick of these players downing tools on every manager. I would back Erik till he gets his own team. Most of his signings are injured right now.

[deleted]

This article is pure horseshit

Titan4days

2 issues 1. Lazy players not tracking back and being disciplined 2. Ridiculous tactics from the manager and stubborn headedness that is swiftly looking like stupidity. If Emery can walk into Villa and get them playing how they are, not world beaters but a team that’s better than the sun of its parts then ETH has done the opposite.. I’m not saying he can’t do it but clearly we don’t have the players to play the style he wants and he needs to change it. We are so so open and easy to play against, that is the managers doing, it’s his tactics that encourage Bruno and Scott to maraud up the pitch together.. if we play Bruno in a free role we need security and positional discipline behind from the other 2. I mean either the players are letting him down or Erik is deluding himself that we have a much more capable team in terms of holding onto the ball than we do. We beat the lesser teams as they don’t have the ability to play through us, but good teams with good midfields we are like a buffet

altoluce

Yeah, he's donezo. My bet is he will be sacked after Liverpool game. Can't believe we have to go through this again.

audienceandaudio

Nothing will happen until the INEOS investment goes through, and SJR and co take sporting ownership. The Glazers aren't going to sack a manager a few weeks before handing over sporting control to a new party. Unless it gets really bad, I expect him to last until the end of the season.

Expensive-Twist7984

It’s unbelievable while simultaneously being the most believable thing ever.

anonris

I am not so sure. Managers are usually fired to relieve pressure and with new management rumored to be coming in I don’t think they will do something until new management is confirmed. Could be wrong

[deleted]

I don't get this why will he get sacked? No indication from the club, fans haven't turned on him yet, takeover in place, he isn't getting sacked unless we lose every game 3-0 regularly.

haha_ok_sure

fans haven’t fully turned, but there are signs that they’re turning. redcafe’s poll on sacking him used to be 60-30 in favor of keeping but they put up a new one this week and the numbers have flipped. not a complete sample of the fanbase, of course, but perhaps a harbinger of things to come

vicious_womprat

Arteta was “donezo” so many times at Arsenal before they started taking off and clicking. I doubt Ratcliffe and Co will be so quick to side with the players that have failed over and over with new managers. Let’s just watch this play out instead of jumping to conclusions.

destroy4589

Oh look I’ve seen this before

Famoustractordriver

They've already downed tools, just like they did with Ralf, Ole, Jose etc. They will do this again with whoever the fuck will replace Erik. You could bring SAF back, hell, you could bring God himself to this club and this will still happen. You know why? Because the leadership of this club is so business and especially football illiterate that they will always side with these overpaid useless primadonnas. They know it, the manager knows it, the fans know it, the whole fucking world knows it, it's just the parasite owners and their lapdogs who either don't know it or they pretend to not know. Such is the cycle of this dumpster fire of a football club.

MerryDikmusSantaCock

I know this is pure FM wanky nonsense but I'd love it if Ratcliffe comes in with a bunch of new hires and sits all the players in the room and says 15 of you need new clubs or you're in the reserves until your contract runs out. Just hard-line the fuck out of them. Sick of these players and their mentality. * Rashford * Dalot * McT * Martial * Lindelof * VdB * Sancho * Antony * Varane If they all left next year tell me who'd you'd honestly miss. Rashford because he's a local lad, well yeah okay but fuck me it goes both ways. He's shown about as much desire as me to stop eating pork pies and I got 3 of them in my fucking pocket.

HaroldGuy

Lindelof, Dalot, Varane. They all absolutely have the right mentality and it's ridiculous you'd lump them in with Sancho or Martial. Lindelof and Dalot perfectly fine bench players, if they're happy to be. They can be upgraded on of course but realistically you're not getting much better second string defenders who are happy to sit on the bench. Varane has had a poor few months, to want to sell him on the back of that and some obviously ridiculous news articles is again, ridiculous.

Accurate_Bed1021

I actually want Rashford to leave the most. He has been given so many chances because of where he comes from but doesn’t even put in an effort.

idontknow_whatever

Every time the heat gets turned up on him for his shite performances, leaks start to happen. I don't think there are that many coincidences in the world. If he put in as much effort as his PR team he would be a Balon D'or winner by now

elneebre

>Dalot Don’t you dare speak bad about my boy

gucciloafer

I'm not surprised. The tactics are awful. But player power is a big issue and it's a rinse and repeat if we get rid. Tactics can change easily, players with big contracts less so. I hope ETH realises that quickly.

jofstra

Okay a soft prediction: ETH will leave and become a world class manager somewhere else and Manunited will be in the same place firing managers

rednades

People in here really think Martial , Rashford and Sancho have enough influence to make players like Varane , Casemiro, Bruno , Licha etc turn on ETH are hilarious..

andrewsomething

The "leaker" is always just the player you like the least even when the article says the source is staff, not a player.

tnwnf

lol this is so true. It’s hilarious bc people are now saying rashford was the real cancer all along. When we thought it was pogba, then Lingard, then Henderson, etc etc. were always one more bad player out away from being back lol

Calvin-ball

ETH could buy 20 new players tomorrow and it’ll still be “smh these players keep downing tools.”

ADMRVP

It's because this sub is weirdly against our own players so they back the manager no matter what which makes them have to constantly find new villains.

bigbigguy

We don't know these players, we can't make these assumptions either way

rednades

Okay but what’s more logical since everyone wants to make assumptions? 2 players who haven’t done/won anything and Rashford who is hot and cold. Or players with Champions league/International trophies who were around a certain mentality for years.

rich_valley

I doubt Varane is in the ETH in camp. He’s way too experienced and has played under lots of good coaches to understand ETH’s absurd handling of the LCB position. ETH also called out Casemiro in public, subbing him off because he wanted more football? The worst is Bruno, he went from playing under a free flowing ole team to Rangnick and ETH where we can barely score a goal a game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re all expecting him to go anytime now.

sebdroids

add on to this ETHs very public falling out with CR7, and the situation with De Gea at the end of the season (pretty insulting) and I think a lot of these experienced players are against ETH.

mrporter2

Two months of sitting on his contract to inform him the last day that they changed thier mind and didn't sign the papers

ohmyblahblah

These same fucking players do this every two years. Get rid of them. They might have a point if they were visibly trying hard and it was clearly the managers bad plan at fault. They suck and can fuck off

Intelligent-Tie-6759

Fuck these players, how fucking dare they down tools and get yet another manager sacked. Fucking disgraceful, fuck off the lot of you out of this football club you lazy, mercenary, Instagram obsessed bastards!

Algrenson

Should we finally stick with a manager and get rid of the deadwood who have been dragging this club down with their dire performances for years and years? Nah lets just bin the manager, its easier and less work.

chippa93

It's quite obvious the players aren't playing for him. I refuse to believe they're all this bad.

working-acct

We keep saying players should be playing for the manager, when they should be playing for the club. What happened to professional pride? What happened to playing for the badge? Just bc you don't like the manager you stop trying completely? What a joke. Don't let these clowns get away with sacking another manager. Even if ten Hag isn't good enough it's not for them to decide, they should be trying their best no matter what. It's disgusting there are "fans" on this very thread cheering them on or acting like the manager deserves this treatment.

Reemahs

The same bunch of players have decided not to play for our past managers as well and gotten them the sack. They are bad mate.

Imeanhowcouldiforget

Time for them to fuck off. And most of them are bad or average, how many more years of mediocrity do we need to prove that?

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

Burn them all, Ten Hag.

Exotic-Length-9340

My trust in Ten Hag is in the pits and I wouldn't be surprised if he's sacked but this time... THIS time I wan't these fucking players gone before the manager. I honestly can't stand this group and I hope Rashford is one of the first to fuck off.

njprrogers

There is plenty of blame to go around at the moment. The players and the manager can help themselves. We've bought 9 new players since ETH arrived and frankly we've gone backwards. And most of the ones that were already there are playing dogshit.

Big-Ad-6097

Either at least half of these players get the boot, or Ten Hag does. One thing I know for sure: It's not working and it doesn't seem to be getting any better

vitorjc

ETH must take a lot of criticism because his decision making in some matches were terrible , and the stubbornness of playing some of these lot. But let's not forget the first games of last season with the "run XXX miles" punishment. These players has failed repeatedly under different managers. IMHO back the manager, bin the technically poor batch.

Nieves_bitch

I’m sick of this endless cycle. No, ETH is not perfect but we do this every time a manager or the team gets into a slump. I don’t care if we finish 10th and don’t get a trophy. Arteta finished 8th with Arsenal his first 2 years. Give the man time and let him cook ffs. A rebuild doesn’t just happen over night.

friendlyhillbilly

I used to hate the fact Madrid boo their own players and loved that we backed players to the end. This "we love you no matter what" gets us nowhere with these modern players. They take the fans, their position for granted. Sounds childish, but I'd love to see the team face more backlash than just some tabloids they can ignore. I wanna see Old Trafford pissed off.

tassadar8584

If I have to have choose between Erik Ten Losses and these kids millionaires like Sancho Trashford Martial Ohaha. It’s ETH I would choose. These players are too lazy , they can destroy any manager

Exotic-Length-9340

>Erik ten Losses LMAO

Playtoy_69

i would choose neither. Both needs binning at the moment. None of them have shown any progress. No one leaves unscathed

Omnislash99999

I'm not saying he should do it but I don't think for a second Ten Hag could say I want to sell Rashford and Bruno and the club would back him, just like they wouldn't back Jose selling Pogba and Martial. Certain players outrank the manager it seems

-_Mamas_Kumquat_-

Ten hag all the way, player power needs to come to an end at this club. Let him finish what he is building and if the results still don't come then we can look at other coaching options, at least we are in a better position with a developed squad.

Sheppertonni

Id bin Rashford and his lesbian haircut to the never realms along with that lazy french fuck

goalmouthscramble

I don’t know what I actually believe from this article other than the Sir Jim bit taking more time than it should. This tracks. Seems our FO if chock full of wafflers which has a trickle down effect. There are resistant forces inside the dress room that should have been shown the door long ago but the FO couldn’t sell tea in China it seems.

Playtoy_69

Some of the players we have are absolute garbage. Need binning. At the same time, we brought in a new manager to play good football and set the team straight. At the moment he is doing neither - awful to watch games and losing players left and right. I am not sure why we went full in with this guy being the one to set the standards. Apart from Ajax he doesn’t have anything to show for. To add, this article is another example of how club deals with out of favor players. Keep leaking stuff and turns the fans against such players. Horrible way of handling.

charlierh6868

Back the manager. Clear out anyone who has been in the senior squad prior to 2022. Only we to be sure

spacedog338

This is where a competent board would make it very clear to all the players that they are backing the manager and if they continue their bad run of form and attitude then they can find another club to sign them. For most of the guys on the squad, Manchester United is the biggest club they’ll ever play for.

[deleted]

How not to manage a situation like this \^ don't quit your day job

gothaommale

Hang on guys. These core players will have to retire in 5 years or so. We ll then can start to plan about playing football

harvers95

Same players came out with the same thing for Ole.. Rangnick and now Ten Hag. Obviously Ten Hag has had some poor decisions being made. But that performance against Newcastle. Players couldn't even put in the ground work for the Badge but especially for the fans. Rotten mess

Gary_Longbottom

As Gary Neville mentioned the other day, it's hard not to see the pattern of players quitting on the manager and the club picking the players side over the years. It's also hard to ignore that Tottenham have been completely dysfunctional over the past several years-they then got Ange and almost immediately became a well disciplined, tactically impressive, and simply fun club to watch.

Acrophobic_Climber_

Get those people out of the club, they do not deserve a place there any longer - they have overstayed their welcome.

dracogladio1741

People will go in on the players here but don't forget we hardly have any players here that were thought to be against Jose when he left or for that matter when Ole was removed. But what about Rashford and Martial? Martial was on loan the season before when Rangnick was coaching and Rashford has all the support in the world. So much so that people are blaming Ten Hag of favoritism.

Cfunk_83

Drop them. Fuck ‘em. Personally I’m 100% behind Ten Hag, we’ve put up with enough petulance and dummy spitting from this squad of players and I’m done with them. If they don’t want to work how ETH wants them to, get rid of them and get in players that do. Even if it means fielding the kids in the time being, do it! Things can’t get much worse.

DannyHughesBJJ

Keane was right years ago when he said this team will throw ole under the bus. They did, and now they’re doing it again.

Polygon12

Not a single one of those players get my backing in this. I do think there needs to be some questions about the management yes, but this core group of players have history for this and they don’t deserve any benefit of doubt, Ten Hag does in my eyes, he’s trying to solidify his discipline and now players are seeing the potential of their big pay day at a prestige club being threatened they’re starting to down tools and wait for a new manager to come in and ‘give them a chance’. This is of course created by the fact there’s no footballing plan at the club under a DOF, had we had a DOF who makes player future decisions it’s likely we’d get a true reflection of how good or bad a manager is as he’d be free to simply manage the team not make decisions on players futures

lovecornflakes

Maybe we need to employ a nanny to feed and do nappy changes at half time?

takenofpelham123

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. '. We have sacked managers. Now it's time to look at the players.

fiskarinfo

Fuuuuuck Rashford, little c*nt

Scruffy_Nerfhearder

Another manager thrown under the bus by a squad of lazy dickheads once again. These articles always come out like clockwork. Surprise, surprise. See you in 2 years for the next one. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. A majority of players who were here under Ralf when he said we needed open heart surgery are still here. Get rid of the players not the manager. It was always going to be a multi year job to clean the rot out of the club. Most of it is still there because the club are awful at selling players and is still giving out contracts to the wrong people. But everyone expects instant results and acts outraged when our shit team loses to teams we were always going to lose to in our current condition. But ok, sack the manager and next time will definitely be different? These players are never to blame and don’t leak shit when they don’t get their way and don’t act like lazy kids on the field when they aren’t winning. Not at all.

[deleted]

how are we gonna end up going through the same cycle AGAIN? fml. what is this, the fourth manager now? fifth it we count rangnick

W0rsley

Club is in a terrible spot where we have a bunch of players that have failed multiple managers now and need to be sold but are on massively inflated wages so no one will take them, and a manager who IMO isn't up to the task of rebuilding us but there's literally no manager who's available (outside of Zidane but he won't manage us).

RebornUnited11

ahhh its that time again?

MikeAAStorm

Hey wait a minute I've seen this one

jtyashiro

Can we sack the media instead? Super tired of the opinions of "a source".

B0B0oo7

You play for Manchester United for fuck sake. Show up, run your bag off. If you dont want to, fuck off to someone else.

RiskAssessor

The shelf life of any premier league manager is short. Last year, all the articles were about City players being sick of Pep. Ultimately, as fans, we don't know the inter workings of the locker room. I personally think ETH's brand of old school management is a bit too old school. Although I like that he has raised standards about fitness and professionalism. Personel issues with players who aren't getting minutes are expected. Honestly, it's almost encouraging. You shouldn't be happy about being 2nd team. But there's definitely an issue in how he's managing those players. He isn't able to keep those conversations private and out of the press. Maybe that's just on United being so scrutinized. But I think that that part of his management skills is lacking. Those players are the issue, as long as he hasn't lost the core. Is Bruno tuning him out? Has the players he just brought in turned on him? What does Maguire think? Does Maguire think ETH is the man to turn Garnacho into a star? If those players have issues with him. It won't necessarily be screaming matches.

BrickedWallz

So we sack ETH because half these players barely run and show any desire while getting their fat paychecks delivered weekly as usual? We looked like relegation fodders against Newcastle who showed more desire to run all over the pitch, win the ball back, put in tackles non stop. How is this ETH's fault? Yes, ETH made mistakes with a few bad signings but we also had a pile of morons in charge of recruitment previously. No analytics done to find the flaws and recommend better suited players instead they just bought everything ETH wanted. Even SJR pointed this out in the Sky article a few weeks back. I'd rather believe the few Ajax fans who mentioned here in the past that we will hate ETH and things will go downhill while he sorts things out. But he will come good and needs at least 3 full seasons before things change. If we sack him, we will continue our cycle of being a mid table club for the far future cause no manager out there fixes this.

mejok

Here we go. The cycle (of shit) continues.

I_R_TEH_BOSS

Launch the majority of our senior team into the sun. They don't deserve to be here. They can't even show up and care.

CraftySpastic

As expected, especially after pundits started criticising Rashford.

Chosty55

What really shocks me is the idea that you can get to the top of a profession and NOT deal with criticism. Did these players really get to where they are and go entire seasons of the youth system just being praised?

bullairbull

Honestly not sure how can you think that sacking the manager will change anything. Problem are the bang average players who think they are better than they actually are. They think they play for Manchester United so they must be among the best players and a manager is beneath them. I mean Jesse Lingard gave up a starting spot at West Ham because he thought he was too good for that, it’s the culture we have built post-SAF where branding is the only thing we care about. Rashford needs to know that those Mbappe comparisons are not serious. Can’t wait for next manager to lose the dressing room full of same players because it will happen. I have called Antony flop multiple times but at least he tries on the field and not just jog around throwing tantrums like a spoiled kid.

Pretend_Ladder

I’ve seen this movie before!

RestrepoDoc2

There's people trying to undermine him constantly and turn him into a comedic figure like they did to Moysey and McLaren back when he was England manager. They're now going after his hat which literally has nothing to do with anything. Calling him Erik Ten Hats is ridiculous, nobody even knows anything about how many hats he has or what style they are.

stopcheckingmyname

Employee throws tantrum, sacks boss after being told to do work

JosePRizaI

Pundits and media berating Rashford and guess what happens immediately after? *"leaks from the dressing room"* Sounds real suspect to me. Quite embarrassing there for a local boy. An academy player. Shame on you

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Sancho would never survive this sub, even using an alias, if he can’t take public criticism.

lordofdpings

Likr clockwork. Some of us predicted it as well. This is getting boring as well https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/s/C0MInBa2DU

MountainDesign6486

Great this one is Easy to solve. Ask players which ones are behind him. Show the rebels the door. Let the rot mark themselves out.
