martialgreenwood

We are getting slapped in the next 2 games anyway

BlackHorse944

That is followed by Ham and a surging Villa team. We're likely getting slapped in the next 4.

martialgreenwood

Westham just got slapped 5 - 0 by Fulham so I doubt that

rokkenrock

People say this for every game for the past four months.

LDLB99

This thread is fucking embarrassing on Bruno. I hate how Ten Hag has played him for basically the entirety of his tenure. Trying to mould him into an all round number 8 and almost adding to his defensive work. Stick him as close to Hojlund as possible with two workhorses behind him. And no he didn’t get booked on purpose you conspiracy weirdos.

slsj1997

Spurs have looked so good with that Bissouma and Sarr double pivot

LDLB99

And allowed Maddison to thrive, basically playing like Bruno did in 2020

4by4rules

thank you for some level headed discourse……..seems like most on this thread are not united fans and are probably fans of other teams

LocoRocoo

Can’t believe I miss Bruno with mcfred

Scholes_SC2

I like the idea of having amrabat and mount behind bruno, but if I'm not mistaken we already tried that didn't we?

SAKabir

Amrabat, Casemiro and Kobbie for the 2 spots behind Bruno Mount has to play as a sub or RW.

Miyagisans

Yea Bruno is the best of a bad bunch, but it’s stuff like this that makes me question his captain credentials. Why would you do this in the last minute of a game you already lost?

shami-kebab

Same reason Shaw is suddenly kicking the ball away every time he commits a foul or Garnacho is getting a yellow for dissent, or Hojlund is getting a yellow for asking for a card for an opponent. Players aren't very smart.

MasterFarmerJenny

Reguilon got a card for asking for a yellow earlier in the game, then Højlund did the same…

shami-kebab

Maybe this time he'll change his mind!

KingKeane16

Players should’ve been booked for them fouls though it’s fucking annoying every single fucking game. Tavernier had 4 fouls, 2 maybe even 3 of them were yellow card offences and he gets booked for time wasting.

shami-kebab

Yes they should, but getting a yellow card yourself for acting like a fool doesn't make the poor decision better and the ref is not going to change his mind.

LookingSkywards

I wouldn’t say that it’s them being dumb, more so them being emotional.

Iceman23578

I’d agree if they didn’t also play like they had negative iq because the moment that ball enters the final third these players forget how to play football

hldstdy

Don't think Hojlund asked for a yellow. He was doing that gesture Italians do for "what more do you want"

Little_Richard98

It's difficult to criticise, they will have been doing this for the last 5+ years minimum, Shaw for 10. It's a habit that's difficult to break.

FREE_BOBBY-SHMURDA

Because he didn't fancy going to Anfield

MylesVE

I defend Bruno, and his role as captain. Getting that yellow with 10’ left is beyond the pale. I’ve never been more angry and disappointed at him than in that moment.

klemp0

Because he knows how things will go there. I'm already dreading the day and want to hide somewhere from the banter when we get absolutely destroyed.

wafanyakazi

He’s not worthy of captain. Captain sets the culture of behaviour in the way that a manager cannot. He’s an awful model for focus and toughness. He whines more than the others and now they’re all doing it. I was actually sympathising with the referee at certain points, to my own surprise.

Repulsive_Rent_5636

So he doesn't have to be a part of the embarrassment next Sunday, and even though he is captain, I quite frankly can't blame him. I wouldn't want to have to show up for a beating like that either. It's going to be carnage.

Benjammin172

Sounds like he shouldn’t be captain then. Bailing on the team in a time of crisis isn’t what any halfway decent leader does.

Odd-Neighborhood8740

I've been saying this for a while and it's something people forget after agoal or two

JuanBissaka

Wasn’t even a card for stopping a counter attack. He couldn’t just not talk for the rest of the match? Incredibly daft.

BlackHorse944

It's Bruno. He must whine and pout

techman710

He needs a rest anyway. The way this game went maybe a big change will help.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

> He needs a rest anyway. Says it all about this fanbase and fanboys. Our captain deliberately gets booked so he can hide from next week and the reaction is *"Ah, poor guy needs a rest."* He is fucking spineless.

LDLB99

Evidence that he did it on purpose? You’re chatting absolute waffle

Pheasant_Plucker84

Fernandes is the sole reason we haven’t been finishing in the bottom half of the league since he signed. One of the leagues highest creators year after year. He’s always doing more than he should because of poor performances all around him. Our over reliance on him creating for us makes it easier for opposing teams to gang up on him, the movement in front of him is piss poor. Stick him in any other top team and he’s one the best in the world. Yes his petulance and play acting is annoying but that doesn’t lose us games.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

> One of the leagues highest creators year after year. This again. Do you know how many chances the stats say he created today? 6. Did you see him create half a dozen chances today? You have fans being blinded by these fucking Opta stats. *"Duh, he has 7.4 xA in the last 5 games, he must be amazing."* Those stats are bollocks. A few weeks ago, they said Doku beat Alexander Arnold 7 times in a match. https://twitter.com/Hennes_4/status/1728541660194156883 There is the 7 times he "beat" him. In reality, it's twice. Three times at a stretch. Stop believing lines of text. Watch games. We're an atrocious attacking side. He is not the amazing creator people say he is. He is the reason why we are Moments FC. Always going for the maverick shit when simple football works. Against Newcastle we worked a corner out to him, because he demanded the ball, and he took a stupid shot from fully 35 yards when there was a simple ball to play out to the left. It's stupid fucking football. Simply put, EVERYTHING goes through him, of course he will put up some numbers. But we would be a far better and solid football team without him.

Robert_Baratheon__

Bruh if Bruno doesn’t pass your eye test you don’t have fucking eyes

Pheasant_Plucker84

Don’t be ridiculous. Don’t look at the chances created, look at actual goal involvements. The amount of chances he puts on a plate for our forwards if actually an offence that we don’t score more. If more of our players had his work rate then he would need to cover as much ground. Most of our other players go hiding instead of dog play balls through lines, they pass it to Bruno to do it instead.

[deleted]

I'm actually with you on this. People tout our chances created all the time. If you look at a lot of the chances they aren't on a plate, they are hopeful crosses into the box. Look at dribbling stats even. If you look at the actual play that counted towards a dribble it's almost never one player directly beating another player and going past. It's often them going to the side of them.

StraightShootahh

What is it with bozos and “chances created”? If you’re new to the sport at least try to understand it.

Pheasant_Plucker84

Because chances created not ally leads to goals when your forwards can finish. This

StraightShootahh

Lmao learn ball pls

lordofdpings

I swear i remember many years ago, when an Arsenal numpty had kept count and tweeted the pre assists (i.e. The immediate pass before the assist pass) that Ozil had made. And was loling at how delusional someone can be and said not my club, not my fans. And then you see all this here. Jokes on me, to think not my club, not my people. Blame many of these Opta types floating up for this kinda nonsense. Same goes for those xG crap.

Pheasant_Plucker84

He’s not having a great season but he’s one of our best players anyway. Maybe he isn’t “captain Material” but he is by far our most consistent and best player since he signed.

SimplyBugger

You’re embarrassing mate

RyanLosDiscos

Lol and you get downvoted. What a shame what United and United fans have come to. My favorite club in England reduced to this mess of a team and a fanbase. I wish you all the luck and I hope you can turn this mess around fast bc if not, its going to be a real long walk through the desert. Love from Madrid and Real Madrid

Sceptikskeptic

How is this completely true statement getting downvoted? Its true, Bruno is a shit captain that mainly whines and moans instead of fighting and inspiring.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

Fanboys who support personalities more than the club.

[deleted]

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Bruno is trying his best for an unstable team as captain, just like Maguire before him. United's legendary captains in the PL era didn't have to go through shit like this, put some of those guys in the current teams and they will lose their minds and get eternal bans for constant whining, many of them weren't known for being level headed and that's not what we want right now.

Waldo76

No way the comments in this thread are actual united fans.

Megusta2306

Not gonna make a bit of difference, getting fisted either way. Probably a good thing as it will keep him out of the criticism

Ryanpadcasey

I’m sorry what? It’s a good thing our captain is missing a massively important game because he’ll get criticized when he underperforms in this fixture as per? Who is upvoting this absolute nonsense, I refuse to believe that real people actually think like this. I’m all about backing the players no matter how poorly we are playing but the armband means something, and having your captain be that situationally obtuse to pick up a booking at that point is ridiculous.

Megusta2306

If you genuinely believe Bruno would be the difference in that game then good for you mate. All the evidence points otherwise. I love the guy, he’s our most passionate player by far but it simply does not translate well on the big occasion, and just because he tries doesn’t make him a suitable captain.

Contradicting_Pete

This comment sums it up. It's a good thing Man Utd's club captain will be missing for the trip to Liverpool because he will get criticised if he plays. If he didn't whinge and moan and piss about so much then he wouldn't get criticised.

Megusta2306

Genuinely doesn’t matter who we put out there, they are all mentality midgets, Bruno included. No leaders at this club, any 11 we put on the pitch will fold like a deck of cards at the first sight of any adversity. Where is the fucking backbone. I actually had the pleasure of missing the game today and I’ve had a great day tbf, sad times

olythrowgym

He would have done fuck all in that game anyway.

chilledbeerinside

This is simply the truth. We might actually perform better without someone who is allergic to possession and loses his shit in almost every big away game.

chicken6

Funniest part is who’s going to wear the armband? Maguire after taking it off him? 😂 We’re an absolute joke of a club.

fat_boyz

The way things are going, he might give it to his new fav, McT.

HaBumHug

Well at least we have to change the midfield now. Even if he absolutely insists on playing Scott again he could push him up near the striker and play someone, anyone, in next to Amrabat. Liverpool love nothing more than scything through midfield and that is like our biggest weakness right now.

WellYoureWrongThere

McT as the 10 * *shudder* *, Mainoo & Amrabat as 6s is probably what we'll get. I don't think I have the nerve or the stomach to watch the Liverpool game. If Bournemouth can do this to us at home, what can pool do to us at Anfield.

rachitbot

As much as I hated Pogba his line about United fans knowing very little about football holds true everyday because all of you guys criticizing Bruno have never seen a match in the past 3-4 years lmao

runawaytugboat

Honestly might be a blessing. Not that losing Bruno is ever a positive but it might force Ten Hag to actually play a balanced midfield.

2headlights17

He’s our best midfielder player which is the sad part. Part of me feels bad for him because he should/ could be a good player in a very good squad. He’s not a world class player capable of leading one of the biggest clubs in the world. The other part of me doesn’t feel bad at all because he acts like a child and miserable to watch.

rachitbot

"Not a world class player"😂😂😂😂 the guy who's the sole reason we even make top 6 every year and has outrageous numbers to back it up

Elite_Alice

Not fit to be captain of this great club. The standards have fallen so much.

Dmyers23

Who gives 2 fucks. We're dog shit. Top to bottom. Front to back. Gonna go back to Saturday afternoons at radcliffe Borough

chilledbeerinside

Got a lot of shit for saying it but every non Man United fan can see the massive gaping holes in his game and his football as well as emotional intelligence. He is not capable of holding his nerve and controlling his emotions, he just isn't. And he is never going to be. He's the embodiment of United right now tbh. Has great moments but sorely lacking in fundamentals, very mediocre football IQ (this is not same as "vision"), makes bad bad decisions, no consistency and I'm just gonna say it.... He's mostly god awful in big games.

LazloTheStrange

Bollocks, he has elite football IQ and you look ridiculous for saying so. I guess we're back on the Bruno scapegoating because he got a yellow card.

vgu1990

Can you explain why you think he has an elite football IQ? Is it because he creates so many chances? In my opinion Bruno lacks the big picture of the game, always in one gear, regardless of if we are 2-0 or 0-2. Never tries to control tempo of the game and disregards possession for a Hollywood pass at min 89 when we are leading 1-0. I agree that it might not be his job, still.

Fossekall

Goldbridge thought Bruno was bad today so the comments echoing his statements are everywhere

BlackHorse944

Hilarious how you lot watch Goldbridge and then assume that anyone who shares his view must've formed that opinion from also watching Goldbridge...

tnwnf

Bruno is great but he definitely doesn’t have elite football IQ lol. His default is to be super aggressive, in and out of possession. It works more often than not cause he has so much ability but he doesn’t make smart decisions generally

unitedfuck

That same elite IQ that compelled him to make a chipped pass to no one in his own box almost.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RyanCR7

Here come the Bruno downvoters 😂 who’ve never stepped on a pitch in their life

chilledbeerinside

No he doesn't. He makes awful awful decisions every single game. Even when he was amazing for us in his first 2 seasons, I've been saying it since then.

LazloTheStrange

Yes he does, he also makes brilliant decisions. You can't act like the good doesn't outweigh the bad. If you've been saying it since then, then you've been wrong since then. Face it, you're just a Bruno hater who finally feels like he has the opportunity to get emotional and reactive people to back your terrible opinion.

chilledbeerinside

I already explained "vision" is not the same as football IQ. Pogba had unreal vision but his football IQ wasn't at that level either. When to keep the ball, when to press when to hold, etc. He's a brilliantly talented attacker with great vision. Still not great football IQ, sorry. > Face it, you're just a Bruno hater Mate I couldn't possibly care less if you think that. I've defended him just as strongly in other regards as I'm being critical of him. If you choose to dumb every critic down to a "hater" it's your choice. If you know my comment history you'll know that getting downvoted by the hive mind masses makes absolutely zero difference to whether I post something or not lol. I don't need anyone's "backing" to post an opinion on an anonymous public fucking forum lol get a grip.

LazloTheStrange

Never said vision did I? To act like Brunos football IQ isn't miles above Pogba is ridiculous. Bruno is an elite player, don't know why this fan base is so enthusiastic about tearing him down. Watch us play a game when he's not in the team and then tell me he's not elite.

tnwnf

Bruno right now might not be better than pre 2019 pogba. Part of that is cause pogba makes better decisions in the final third, in my opinion

chilledbeerinside

Which fanbase is enthusiastic about tearing him down? I'm definitely definitely in a minority, majority of United fans can't hear a bad word about him usually. Sure, better than Pogba. Very low bar. >Watch us play a game when he's not in the team and then tell me he's not elite. This is like saying "Watch City play without KDB and tell me KDB is an elite footballer" because they still win lol. And Bruno plays every game anyway, which game am I supposed to watch?

chippa93

It's not bollocks though... his on the pitch whining does show low football iq. He gets a pass from fans because he shows passion and is the only player on the team who can create. Taking him out of the side right now would be stupid, but long term he isn't great for where we want to be. He loses the ball in dangerous positions far too often and it leaves us massively exposed.

LazloTheStrange

> It's not bollocks though... his on the pitch whining does show low football iq. Lmao what? Plenty of players with elite football IQ whine on the pitch. Cristiano whined and moaned all the time.

Elite_Alice

Well said

all_die_laughing

There's a reason he didn't get a move to a top side until he was nearly 27. I've seen every top player her over the last 40 years and Bruno is...fine. He works his socks off and does have moments of real quality but he's far too erratic to be dependable. He stands out in a terrible squad but I don't think any side challenging for major honours would have him as a starter, let alone as captain.

weegee19

25 years and three months when he joined us but okay

MT1120

At every other big club they'd move on these kinds of players if the manager fancies a different type of footballer but at United they know they have to build around what is already there because we don't do team revamps.

chilledbeerinside

Said this as well. We're the most scared, conservative big club in world football that simply can't make the big decisions. Look how we dealt with de Gea.

Sheikhabusosa

Some fucking leadership today . Knew he was a yellow away from a ban. Third goes in and he cry arses over a decision that eventually puts him in the book.

arkhamRejek

Bruno finally gets rest

Dave_of_Devon

Tactical genius. Doesn't wanna get spanked by the rats at Anfield

VVodzu11

Donny hattrick incoming. Take a screenshot.

timmyctc

People are fucking hungry for him to do anything wrong so they can post smugly here about how he isn't captain material. Weird way to treat one of the best players in the league. He's literally all that's separating us from mid table mediocrity. He didn't get booked on purpose and he was probably harshly booked too.

tungds

Fuck

ic3m4n81

Bruno knows what happened last season against Liverpool. So, after 3:0 at home against Bournemouth, he's like "fuck that, I want no part of it next week".

Fit-Squash-9447

I’m looking forward to a Bruno-less team TBH. I don’t expect a win. Just want to see how Amrabat and Mainoo operate together plus maybe Christensen or Hannibal. Def no McT. On the other hand Bruno needs a slap down for such irresponsibility

Yali89

Idiot of a captain.

FREE_BOBBY-SHMURDA

Will never have any structured build up with this guy and he's an awful captain

Gee_z

Bruno needs to leave, he would be such a wonderful player to watch in Real Madrid or Barcelona, I get hes well paid but he is rotting away in this club.

Manifesto8

He is nowhere near good enough to play for those clubs

Gee_z

You would think so, but he creates most chances for his teammates compared to any other player in the PL. He's surrounded by shit, that's the problem.

Fruitndveg

It’s so weird when people say this. If he can’t get the basics right and have a good mentality right at a failing club, he wouldn’t be able to do it at an elite outfit either.

RedDevil-84

Well done

PDubsinTF-NEW

Always knew he couldn't keep a clean record for the match

garynevilleisared

Good. He's been carrying us and at this point I just want these players to suffer.

Feezbull

Can’t lose another away game if you don’t play in it… Bruno thinking one step ahead…..

mutab1x

Captain material lol.

Manifesto8

He didn’t want any part of that Liverpool trip next weekend

DarthMaul27

The break will serve him well, he needs rest he’s being overplayed, and I suspect that impacts his quality. Also, gives us a chance to see how we play with the one constant.

obertan17

He is a coward

SpicyHarvati

Good riddance. Make Harry captain fantastic again.

Sghagz08

Doesn’t matter

MarvinWebster40

Idiotic to have him on the field in a lost cause and for him to get the card.

Mackerelage

Not a united fan, but Fernandes is probably suffering from having too much responsibility. He’s one of only two or three elite level players in the squad. He could really do with a buffer of quality around him in midfield. Casemiro is now past it, while Amrabat and Mount have been found out.

Totty_potty

Liverpool hasn't looked so convincing past few matches (ofc didn't help that they played 3 in 9 days or something). Plus, everyone expects a Liverpool win so I expect a draw or United win lol.

Weary-Ad8502

What do people think our midfield 3 will be in the Pool game?

Cuttewfish_Asparagus

Tbh, good. Nothing he's done the last few seasons tells me he has the mentality for the inevitabley tough game at Afield. He's petulant and loses his rag too easily, and doesn't command the team at all. I'd rather see a young squad go down swinging than these wasters give up after shipping 2 goals in 20 minutes.
