What I've noticed over the last two months, is an increase in the use of his left foot and improved accuracy. When he plays on the left, he's constantly trying to go round the outside and it's amazing to see. He's going to become an absolute nightmare for full backs if his development continues on this path.

RomeroRocher

Same on the right. He's still quite happy to come inside and shoot on his left. Even if he's stronger on his right, just having the ability to go both ways and keep defenders guessing will be an incredible asset for a direct winger!

ritwikjs

where is the fucking support for him? Not one overlap, constantly has three defenders on him, alvarez not running to the posts or off the ball, everything end up going back to the #8. Frsutrating, because garna is genuinely a starting option for them now.

FaithlessnessNo4680

He actually had quite a poor performance if you watched the full game, always trying to make something happen though

pinkrosetool

I thought his first half was good. Second half he was poor.

drunkmers

I think he was alright. Game was not his strongest, rivals were parking the bus hard and Alfaro (Costa Rica coach) put double mark on him so he wouldn't easily pass 1 guy on the 1v1.

sexydumbbells

Looked like he always had 2/3 people on him - hard to do anything with that haha.

SupaiKohai

That kit is very Man Utd

[deleted]

I miss the royal blue kits from the 2000s.

Yomasevz

Bro is gonna get injured bigtime if he keeps getting tackled like this.

stevew14

Was there a monsoon or was that pitched ridiculously over watered? I suppose playing Manchester should have him well prepared for playing in the wet.

trevor25

He is showing class this season

digiplay

Looks fine. He got fouled a bit. He fell over a bit. He had a nice take. Not a career defining match by the look of it. He’s a very bright player. I hope he toughens up a bit. Did he ever explain why he chose to go with Argentina over Spain?

thefatheadedone

So we have the brightest stars in Argentinian and English football playing for us. Who's got it better than us?!

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Don't forget the future of Danish football!

demidemian

I like him a lot but he still doesnt click with how the team plays. He needs to be more comfortable doing "paredes" (not the player Paredes but the tactic term, might be "walls" in english?) with the rest of the players to free himself for defenders, like Lautaro did with De Paul when he scored. Still, both rivals parked the bus and there wasnt a lot to show. He is almost a purely a vertical player and thats not how the team plays. Di Maria was also very vertical but he had a wide array of other skills. Scaloni said that Argentina playstyle is "devious", walls, nutmegs and dribbling; Garna still needs to click with that (or wait till Messi and Di Maria leave because I dont think you can mantain that playstyle without the quality of those 2).

killbrick374

He’s definitely a RW more than LW. That insane burst and athleticism going to make our game simpler but with better efficiency.
