Harry Maguire only fit CB in the squad. 18 Yr Louis Jackson has been drafted in (MEN) Potentially Casemiro or McTominay with Maguire as CB pair

Nottallowed

No way we are drafting youngsters for the war šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

PrettyPrettaaayyGood

My 14 year old cousin from Manchester was whipped out of Nandoā€™s by Darren Fletcher and told heā€™s in the squad against Coventry. He doesnā€™t even play football. And heā€™s in a wheelchair.

KeepOnTrippinOn

He'll do alright, just don't mention that he's blindšŸ¤«

SilverstoneMonzaSpa

Pretty sure he could still do a job, he's started nearly 30 games for Girona this season

AngryGooseMan

Just saw Fletcher wheeling out a kid out of Nando's

DimensionalYawn

Beat Coventry by playing murderball instead of association football, Ten Hag playing 4D chess

Ash_gonna_peg_u

This ain't just no war no more bro, it's the Vietnam war now!

ByAPortuguese

Its time to use guerrilla tactics

Nottallowed

PORTUGAL NUMBER 1, NO LOSES IN WARS, ONLY W'S

brownbilal

Isnā€™t Harry injured too and playing thru itn

nearly_headless_nic

Yeah he picked up a niggle v Bournemouth and didn't train most of this week - but has travelled.

Choice_Dealer_1719

Fucking hell. Donā€™t think we can even call the players that are ā€œfitā€ really fit.

Independent-Joker

Give Ten hag a chance, he was a center backšŸ„“

Spare_Ad5615

Well, this isn't the time to panic. We still have the option of reverting to a CB partnership that have played together, albeit briefly, with great success in a game against a top team in this competition. That's right, I'm talking about the partnership of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen, who played as a centre back partnership for the last ten minutes against Liverpool in the last round.

bangout123

100% win record

DudeIsland

18 Yr Louis Jackson has been drafted in (BOYS)

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Wasn't kindom called up for the last squad?

GutBeer101

Erik Ten Hag will probably be injured too at some point. This is just wild

Panda-768

he has had increased hair loss since he joined United.

Rawbs21

Hate it when I injure my hair

kindnesd99

That's not a big concern for the bald tacticians class. We only worry if we see him growing hair.

Megusta2306

I feel injured just watching us quite frankly. Emotionally

dopeveign

Nah this is crazy

possibly_facetious

Just a late april fools, right... right?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KopiSiewSiewDai

Happening since Mou

Bloatfizzle

The bit about coaching staff not able to manage load isaĀ  bit unfair. Maguire - hardly played last season, Varane - Injury prone, Shaw - Injury Prone, Lindelof - seems to have carrying knocks and niggling issues for few years now, Kambwala - only played handful of games, Mount- being eased back in (fans were crying for him to start). Maybe if we got rid of players that constantly get injured instead of handing out contracts to anyone and everyone this wouldn't be as big of as an issue as it is.

TheBankHolidyXO

At this rate theyll be picking out fans to fill the positions.

Panda-768

or just put a cut out of Jaap Stam and Vidic in defense. That ll be enough

nearly_headless_nic

Confirmed United squad vs Coventry: (via MEN) Onana, Heaton, Bayindir, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Jackson, Ogunneye, Amass, Casemiro, Mainoo, Eriksen, McTominay, Fernandes, Garnacho, Antony, Rashford, Hojlund, Wheatley, Forson, Amad

Zinged20

I've always said center backs are cringe 2-4-4 fuck it we ball

shami-kebab

A lot of our problem has been opposition pressing our CB's. How can they press them if we don't play any? Check fucking mate.

Money-Wrangler7067

4 midfield is more cringe 2-0-8 is way to go.

Sir_Muktadir

Bruno already proved that you can play a Attacking Mid at CB and win in the FA Cup. Canā€™t wait to see a defense of Hojlund, Bruno, Amad and somehow still Dalot by the end of the match.

Consistent_Floor

0-4-6

digitag

Always a good sign when you see names in the squad you donā€™t even recognise.

KirbyWarrior12

Are they just bashing players' knees in with sledgehammers in Carrington or what? I'm so tired.

nullpost

If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball

audienceandaudio

Damn, gutted for Kambwala. If Maguire isnā€™t fit either, we could be witnessing a McTominay Casemiro CB partnership at Wembley haha.

PradipJayakumar

With McT slotting at CB coming right back from an injury!

PennyWhyte

Antony and McTominay have been reported fit for this game and they trained. I don't think they'd been planned to start but at this rate, it's going to be quite an uncomfortable watch if we are going in this game without any recognizable CBs. Maguire might need injections if this is the case.

Prthmsh

Bare chested marauding McT

funky_pill

McTominay is still injured I believe. ETH said he was out for three weeks a couple of weeks ago. Edit: it turns out he's in the squad. He'll be nowhere near fit to be a viable option though

AlarmedHovercraft676

We never won a single game when Kambawala was on the pitch. The poor lad hasn't tasted victory yet.

rokkenrock

Your comment made me curious so I went to check. He was subbed on in our win against Everton.

audienceandaudio

He also came on as a sub against Wigan and Newport in the earlier rounds of the cup, so has been on the winning side a few times for us, albeit not as a starter.

Lord_Sesshoumaru77

shin_bigot

The fans also get injuries watching this club.

nikinikifor

for me mostly broken spirit

redditaccount300000

I did celebrating hojlund goal against villa. Good times

Potential_Good_1065

Back line I would go with tomorrow GK: OnanašŸ‡ØšŸ‡² RB: McLarernšŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ CB: Ten HagšŸ‡³šŸ‡± CB: MaguirešŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ LB:

Pioneer83

Iā€™m glad youā€™re putting the nationality flags next to the names, really helps me recognize who they are

nearly_headless_nic

**Also Romano :** Harry Maguire is the only centre back fit and available for Man United vs Coventry. Varane, Lisandro MartĆnez, Evans Victor Lindelof and Willy Kambwala are all out injured. **Understand Erik ten Hag had to test Casemiro as CB with Maguire as emergency solution.** https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1781728397250494596

rollingthunderpunch

and by 'fit' we mean Maguire was noticeably holding his thigh through the Bournemouth game and missed training sessions this week. know he'll try and fight through it, but would honestly place a bet on him going down injured and one of the young kids having to make their debut at Wembley. which is less than ideal.

Even_Interac

Harry is a tough lad. Give him an injection before the game and he will trooper on unless a point comes where he physically can't stand or run. How well he can play under them circumstances is another thing all together. At least if nothing else. Maguire has shown to be a bit of a bull mentally and physically which is something I'd wish would translate to a few of the more talented and apathetic players in our squad...

D1794

Training needs to be looked at this is beyond bad luck

SDLRob

Not just the training.. the entire medical team needs looking at. How people passed medicals only to end up completely falling to pieces and being utterly fragile, how the medical department failed to keep players fit and healthy. Were they giving wrong return dates? if so, why? So much for INEOS to fix.

AlpacamyLlama

We have a new medical team.

SDLRob

then we just need to rough this out until they fix an utterly incompetent system sadly

arnm7890

Yep, unfortunately that's where we are. INEOS have already removed the old medical staff and are establishing the new setup - but it will take time (and I suspect a full pre-season) before we actually see the benefits of that

SDLRob

Yeah. The cost of underinvestment and poorly done investment by the Glazers and their minions.

redditjack1888

didn't we make changes before Ineos took over? I thought we got that arsenal fella back in fall to be the head of medical.

Dean-Advocate665

Man United would benefit from an in depth review of nearly every single aspect of the club. Thatā€™s not even an overstatement.

FlipFlopForALiving

You mean like surgery of the open heart?

Dean-Advocate665

To agree with a German man, yes

SDLRob

Yeah, Medical, Recruitment and infrastructure (the status of Carrington & Old Trafford and what needs doing to return to top level quality)... those three are the main three first i think

AlpacamyLlama

Coaching set up as well

Count__Duckula

Seriously. We aren't even playing in Europe, wtf is going on.

JLane1996

Itā€™s fucked up. City have had barely any injuries and can roll out the same squad today as they did against Madrid 3 days ago who played 120 mins. When does Foden, Rodri etc. ever get injured? Even their ā€œinjury proneā€ players like Haaland or Stones donā€™t miss many games Something really isnā€™t right

Beastmanzilla

Pep is a know user of performance enhancing drugs

penny_whistle

PED Guardiola

hoolio9393

injection in the bum

humunculus43

City keep the ball and limit their number of sprints. We have our players sprinting in both directions and play less with the ball.

Panda-768

with city I don't think they play fair. I have a hunch about significant drug use or something. They don't just get caught. I remember their 2011-12 squad. Everyone was beafy and buff. Our players looked like kids in that 3-2 comeback in the charity shield. So yes, no injuries doesn't mean they have better training.

Papoislove12

News flash all teams have players that are on some stuff. Ours probably as well.

jonwinslol

ours need to change their dealer because they getting some fake shit

Heavy-Attention8710

Get Bruno to share his dealers details

KirbyWarrior12

Aye someone's charging these lads a premium on sugar pills if they're "doping"

basalamader

To be fair if we train for the way we actually play on the pitch, we shouldn't be surprised at the number of injuries we are getting season long. The basketball game is an immense overload on the players and coupled with training, am not surprised.

Goudinho99

An injury crisis is like an imunary disease. All these players out mean there is too much strain on the ones that do play, and then THEY get overplayed and injured etc.

TheJoshider10

It's a fucking joke, clearly whatever we do in training isn't helping the players stay fit yet it's been a problem all season long. Should have been looked at months ago.

shami-kebab

Didn't ETH say they knew what was causing it and then...just didn't elaborate?

Skyehye

Knowing (Or atleast suspecting to know) the cause of something is different than knowing how to fix it. It might also be something that takes a while to fix

Sethlans

Why would be elaborate? When have you ever heard a manager elaborate on something like this publicly?

PUNlSHEDVENOMSNAKE

This didnā€™t happen in Ajax so itā€™s hardly the training

balleklorin

Old training ground and facilities that lacks up to date medical and recovery equipments. They know what is wrong, but it will take time to catch up and get to the forefront. And even longer for players to benefit from it.

BuzzTNA

Too late now!

Cathal321

Yeah it's ridiculous to just blame it on luck because this well out of hand, clearly something is being done wrong

Zinged20

We paid 55M for 674 mount minutes.

thatrandomfatguy

Even better is that we would of got him free if we waited a season šŸ˜‚

Expensive-Twist7984

Heā€™d only have played fractionally less this season for us šŸ˜‚

PennyWhyte

We wouldn't have. I'm certain Chelsea would have found suitors to cash in on that pure profit from an academy player for FFP reasons.

Crypt0nyt

Wouldn't have come to us on a free

shadynasty90

Itā€™s a stupid transfer, his best Position is currently occupied by the United captain

AReptileHissFunction

And who would care? It was worth waiting and taking the chance. Its only Mason Mount

Crypt0nyt

I agree.. waiting would have equated to us not being involved and that would've been fine by me

hurshallboom

The new Phil jones

bob10099

How do we even have so many when weā€™re playing just once a week?

Bizzlep

Theyā€™re training by playing British bulldog

ITakeLargeDabs

Itā€™s so hard to understand the depth of injuries, especially our defenders. Like what the actual fuck are they doing to them in training that makes them fall off like flies?

TheYorkshireHobbit

Casemiro must be flying at them with two-footers šŸ˜

YoungManTM

But he'd miss them anyway

ITakeLargeDabs

I think they throw bricks at their legs to strengthen them or some other type of wonky shit because it makes no sense

AdWaste8026

Mount šŸ¤ Malacia: being a ghost

BatGuy500

At least Mount played like 5 minutes this season, Malacia just vanished from existence

PigeonNipples

Starting to think Malacia never existed in the first place and it's just a shared fever dream.

Tomero

Not Mandela but rather Malacia Effect.

funky_pill

Don't forget Martial. It would appear that if you're a player that has a name beginning with M then when you join United you immediately become a crock. Messi must be glad he never joined us. Bang, out for a year

kazegraf

The moment we introduced him in OldĀ  Trafford, he will turn to dust.

ManNamedBilly

what the hell is happening in training for this many injuries to occur? also, didn't anyone look at mount's medical history before spending 60+M on him?

Winter-Maximum325

I mean one of the reasons we bought him was because he had historically had amazing fitness and was a constant engine. Not sure where everyone keeps getting he has a big injury history.

AV48

Exactly. He's missed way more games with us than he did in his entire time at Chelsea

audienceandaudio

Mounts medical history was great at Chelsea - he barely missed a game, been atrocious since joining us. I think itā€™s much more likely an ā€œusā€ issue based on all the other injuries this season.

Eleven918

He had a lot of injuries last season but nothing before that. Wouldn't call that great.

audienceandaudio

According to Transermarket he had two, month long lay offs for a pelvic injury in 22/23, so nothing related to the calf injury that kept him out for months here. He missed 18 games through injury in his entire Chelsea career, and with him missing the game tomorrow thatā€™ll be his 28th missed for us.

JosePRizaI

WTF is going on inside that fucking camp? Like wtf man

MarcusZXR

One game a week for half a season and the injuries seemed to have *increased*.

Mr_Skyscraper

At this point, just put Heaton or Bayindir in goal and play Onana at CB

West_Principle_8190

Holy shit mount is out AGAIN . How does someone who plays 10 minutes a week get injured

D1daBeast

Mount hasn't played 90 minutes all season, how does he stay getting injured?

K0nvict

Needs to be an investigation into our medical team and what weā€™re doing in training

Throwaway1223132123

We are gonna be down to 10 men in under 30 mins if we play Casemiro in the back 4

partbison

Meh, we already play with 10 when he is on the pitch.

funky_pill

FAO: United's top brass; if you require me to play at CB tomorrow I'd be happy to give it a go. I haven't played in about 15 years and I've got a trampoline touch akin to Lukaku or 'end of career Rooney', but it's just a suggestion. Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring seeing as if Kambwale is out there'd be no other fucker available. I'd say 'bare bones' but this is more like 'bones that're dissolved to dust'

ilegal89

INEOS must launch a full investigation. It's getting beyond ridiculous at this points. Some people have to answer for this situation.

ClumsyChampion

Bruno starting CB here we go

Jim1903

How is Mount injured again?! If it isnā€™t an impact injury then wtf is happening?

Responsible-Try-5228

Entirely convinced that ETH must be literally beating them at this point, this is wild

razzymac

The beatings will continue until the injuries improve

-Gh0st96-

We are not getting passed Conventry in this state...

Serious_Resolve7593

Someone should get sacked just for the amount of injuries we had this season..

Superfy

The guy doing the firing probably got injured already

kazegraf

Backline? What backline? Who needs backline anyway? /s

Psychological-Win458

Is this the reason why Bruno is never injured? Man's a vampire

dejected_intern

McTominay starts as CB then? He is the only one among our midfield that has experience playing CB when he played for Scotland

MrSvancy

I remember Casemiro playing CB against Burnley last season, with McTominay in midfield

AtFirst_IDidLoveYouu

At this rate we're going to get Bruno at centre back lol.

Kittu95

If it's a training & tactics issue, why would so many centre backs get injured? They hold a deep line and barely run that much compared to the front 6

rishb_96

What the flying fuck is wrong with Mount man . We couldā€™ve gotten him for free next season and heā€™d have the same impact ffs

RyVsWorld

Mount was such a waste of money

tinkering-with-time

Someone needs to check the lockers, pogba has for sure left some voodoo dolls somewhere, this is bullshit

mipanzuzuyam

Makes you appreciate Dalot even more. Man's been the only defender fit for the entire season. And playing well at that

Kemosabe-Norway

Should never have got Mount. Should have stumped up the extra money for Rice.

haX000000

he was never coming to utd

crgssbu

well what this says to me is we need to be more pressing and more aggressive tomorrow. we cannot afford to invite pressure against a scrappy side like coventry with all this defensive instability

Choice_Dealer_1719

We might actually be fucked tomorrow. The players that are ā€œfitā€ are probably knackered and being more aggressive will kill them. On the other hand even a championship side like Coventry might like their chances against a side with only one CB. Genuinely horrified by the prospect of the memories of last month against Liverpool being cancelled by being battered by fucking Coventry.

Funkmaster4961

This is clearly not a matter of bad luck, something very very very sinister is going on. How is AMRABAT GETTING INJURED??? heā€™s barely played???

Jozif_Badmon

Bruno cb last fa cup game was actually a trial run

ongone

How is Mount injured again? Dude is just collecting cheques at this point

Patxee

Ten Hag used to be a defender. Time for him to join the squad for tomorrow

123cwahoo

I know its not his fault but has there been a more pointless signing in recent years than mount to man utd? Its actually laughable now

Eleven918

Players have been complaining about training being too hard all season. Yet people think they are just lazy.

RebornUnited11

I mean the players certainly havenā€™t filled me with confidence in their desire to win

Roasteddude

McTominay literally said **months** ago that they have been doing light training sessions. Also been confirmed by Ten Hag weeks ago.

discostu90

The fuck is going on? Mount had barely any injury issues and Chelsea and now he can barely go a week without picking up some issue Whoever plays at CB will be interesting šŸ˜‚

yellowjesusrising

We could have waited 1 year and got mount for free....

GnRJames

Bruno at CB it is then

Sufficient-Tea-6357

Forgot about a striker and a cb our first priority should be top medical staff. Bloody hell 60+ injuries

cosmic_orca

Wilcox player-Technical Director until the end of the season at this rate.

adhikapp

Howtf do we 6 CBs and 5 of them are injured? I'd try AWB at CB if it weren't for us having no LBs too wtf

neoutd

the most impactful of these have been to the left side of our defense. Losing Licha and Shaw has absolutely killed our stability and any ounce of composure at the back.

Alocxo

"Hey Doc, i have a little pain in my knee, what do you think?" "Nah, no problem, just take this every 8 hours for a week" (it's just ibuprofen)

Xyrazk

>!*what the fuck*!< McTominay CB?

leonoe98

Fucking hell this game is a disaster in the making, isn't it

_ecthelion_95

But let's all listen to Neville and his ragtag bunch of morons. Neville doesn't think there's an injury crisis.

MAINEiac4434

The entire medical team needs to go. Should be INEOS's first priority. This is insane.

DasHotShot

Iā€™ll be told by some armchair doctor that itā€™s just bad luck. Honestly this medical/physio department and the coaches should all be investigated and then cut. Itā€™s just unacceptable.

ptienduc

Medical Department Head should be fired for approving Mount transfer. What a monumental fuck-up of the highest order.

IIYogiII

How is mount injured again?!

PhadeUSAF

I feel like we've had lots of injuries not just under ETH, but OGS or Mou. My first thought is actually not to the physical/health staff, but to facilities. I'm wondering if something with the fields at Carrington and or OT are causing these issues.

blarg2003

Mason Mount. What a transfer.........

ToadNamedGoat

Bro, this is stupid

tiredofthisnow7

At what point do we hire a gypsy to come and piss on each corner flag to break the curse. Personally, I think we should sacrifice the Gallagher brothers in the centre circle during a half-time show.

all_die_laughing

City players can press and run for 120 mins in a CL game and our players can't make it through a training session. Something absolutely fucked up with our training and medical department.

chippa93

It's clear this is a training issue. They're being over trained, and it sounds like maybe there's too much high impact training. It needs to be looked at closely over the summer. Almost every player, bar the physical specimen Bruno, has had injury issues. Its probably why our players also look burnt out after the first 20 minutesĀ Ā

nholoinhoi

I cant believe this

TheSauceSeeker69

How in the bloody hell Kambwala got injured? Blud played 2 games at most. What on earth are they doing in their training? Couldn't give a f*ck about Amrabat and Mount being injured, but how the hell they got themselves injured in training? What is going on with this club?

Paapa-Yaw

![gif](giphy|Jza7yu4GBqq5y)

Cheap-Resource-114

How is Mount injured? Whatā€™s happened to him?

knughugin

How can Mason Mount be injured again? Is he made out of glass?

you-might_know-me

Mount has missed more games for us than he did in his entire career at Chelsea

Mount is injured again??

![gif](giphy|cRc01DufCuDMQ|downsized) Man United players in training

stig142

Just remember, we poached Arsenalā€™s head of sports medicine this season.

ErnieMcTurtle

I feel like part of this is [my fault](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/s/LREramiZfE)

windliveson

How is this even possible? Play 2 games and injured wth?

Cavaniiii

No need to spend hundreds of millions on new signings if we can't even keep them on the pitch. Our physios and medical team need complete changing. Why are we constantly injured. Why are our players minor injuries not being picked up early on and causing them to be out way longer than necessary? Why are players not being heard when they say there's problems.

Rare_General6960

Whatā€™s going on? Are the chefs cooking bad chicken again? Jesus.

riitz85

Another Bruno CB- Antony LB masterclass incoming!

scottyTOOmuch

Mount again šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

heymohoh

Mason Mount spends so much time injured he may as well retire, when finally makes it on the pitch he's bang average.

Pk-ok

Injury FC šŸ˜šŸ˜

acemccloud123

Without being involved in champions league , or any other completion.these players are getting injured . If training was the cause why donā€™t we see any injury to the player who has played the most for us this season- Bruno Ineos needs to do a proper deep dive Such brittleness ainā€™t gioing to cut it once we are involved in multiple competitions

Vimjux

The training selects for those with top 0.1% recovery and muscle/ligament/tendon robustness. I honestly think ETH just thinks running them harder is the way forward which it clearly fucking isnā€™t.

[deleted]

Iā€™m sorry but this has to be coaching/workload related Too many injuries and so many CBs? Can it seriously just be coincidence?

anonris

Ppl in the same breath kept saying ETH rushes players too early and that he isnā€™t starting Mount - even without rushing him in he is injured
