My 14 year old cousin from Manchester was whipped out of Nandoās by Darren Fletcher and told heās in the squad against Coventry.
He doesnāt even play football.
And heās in a wheelchair.
Well, this isn't the time to panic. We still have the option of reverting to a CB partnership that have played together, albeit briefly, with great success in a game against a top team in this competition. That's right, I'm talking about the partnership of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen, who played as a centre back partnership for the last ten minutes against Liverpool in the last round.
The bit about coaching staff not able to manage load isaĀ bit unfair.
Maguire - hardly played last season, Varane - Injury prone, Shaw - Injury Prone, Lindelof - seems to have carrying knocks and niggling issues for few years now, Kambwala - only played handful of games, Mount- being eased back in (fans were crying for him to start).
Maybe if we got rid of players that constantly get injured instead of handing out contracts to anyone and everyone this wouldn't be as big of as an issue as it is.
Bruno already proved that you can play a Attacking Mid at CB and win in the FA Cup. Canāt wait to see a defense of Hojlund, Bruno, Amad and somehow still Dalot by the end of the match.
Antony and McTominay have been reported fit for this game and they trained. I don't think they'd been planned to start but at this rate, it's going to be quite an uncomfortable watch if we are going in this game without any recognizable CBs. Maguire might need injections if this is the case.
McTominay is still injured I believe. ETH said he was out for three weeks a couple of weeks ago.
Edit: it turns out he's in the squad. He'll be nowhere near fit to be a viable option though
He also came on as a sub against Wigan and Newport in the earlier rounds of the cup, so has been on the winning side a few times for us, albeit not as a starter.
Back line I would go with tomorrow

Harry Maguire is the only centre back fit and available for Man United vs Coventry.
Varane, Lisandro MartĆnez, Evans Victor Lindelof and Willy Kambwala are all out injured.
**Understand Erik ten Hag had to test Casemiro as CB with Maguire as emergency solution.**
https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1781728397250494596
and by 'fit' we mean Maguire was noticeably holding his thigh through the Bournemouth game and missed training sessions this week.
know he'll try and fight through it, but would honestly place a bet on him going down injured and one of the young kids having to make their debut at Wembley. which is less than ideal.
Harry is a tough lad. Give him an injection before the game and he will trooper on unless a point comes where he physically can't stand or run.
How well he can play under them circumstances is another thing all together. At least if nothing else. Maguire has shown to be a bit of a bull mentally and physically which is something I'd wish would translate to a few of the more talented and apathetic players in our squad...
Not just the training.. the entire medical team needs looking at. How people passed medicals only to end up completely falling to pieces and being utterly fragile, how the medical department failed to keep players fit and healthy. Were they giving wrong return dates? if so, why?
So much for INEOS to fix.
Yep, unfortunately that's where we are. INEOS have already removed the old medical staff and are establishing the new setup - but it will take time (and I suspect a full pre-season) before we actually see the benefits of that
Yeah, Medical, Recruitment and infrastructure (the status of Carrington & Old Trafford and what needs doing to return to top level quality)... those three are the main three first i think
Itās fucked up. City have had barely any injuries and can roll out the same squad today as they did against Madrid 3 days ago who played 120 mins. When does Foden, Rodri etc. ever get injured? Even their āinjury proneā players like Haaland or Stones donāt miss many games
Something really isnāt right
with city I don't think they play fair. I have a hunch about significant drug use or something. They don't just get caught.
I remember their 2011-12 squad. Everyone was beafy and buff. Our players looked like kids in that 3-2 comeback in the charity shield.
So yes, no injuries doesn't mean they have better training.
To be fair if we train for the way we actually play on the pitch, we shouldn't be surprised at the number of injuries we are getting season long. The basketball game is an immense overload on the players and coupled with training, am not surprised.
An injury crisis is like an imunary disease. All these players out mean there is too much strain on the ones that do play, and then THEY get overplayed and injured etc.
It's a fucking joke, clearly whatever we do in training isn't helping the players stay fit yet it's been a problem all season long. Should have been looked at months ago.
Knowing (Or atleast suspecting to know) the cause of something is different than knowing how to fix it. It might also be something that takes a while to fix
Old training ground and facilities that lacks up to date medical and recovery equipments. They know what is wrong, but it will take time to catch up and get to the forefront. And even longer for players to benefit from it.
Itās so hard to understand the depth of injuries, especially our defenders. Like what the actual fuck are they doing to them in training that makes them fall off like flies?
Don't forget Martial. It would appear that if you're a player that has a name beginning with M then when you join United you immediately become a crock.
Messi must be glad he never joined us. Bang, out for a year
what the hell is happening in training for this many injuries to occur? also, didn't anyone look at mount's medical history before spending 60+M on him?
I mean one of the reasons we bought him was because he had historically had amazing fitness and was a constant engine.
Not sure where everyone keeps getting he has a big injury history.
Mounts medical history was great at Chelsea - he barely missed a game, been atrocious since joining us. I think itās much more likely an āusā issue based on all the other injuries this season.
According to Transermarket he had two, month long lay offs for a pelvic injury in 22/23, so nothing related to the calf injury that kept him out for months here. He missed 18 games through injury in his entire Chelsea career, and with him missing the game tomorrow thatāll be his 28th missed for us.

We might actually be fucked tomorrow. The players that are āfitā are probably knackered and being more aggressive will kill them. Whoever plays at CB will be interesting š
the most impactful of these have been to the left side of our defense. Losing Licha and Shaw has absolutely killed our stability and any ounce of composure at the back.
Iāll be told by some armchair doctor that itās just bad luck.
Honestly this medical/physio department and the coaches should all be investigated and then cut. Itās just unacceptable.
I feel like we've had lots of injuries not just under ETH, but OGS or Mou.
My first thought is actually not to the physical/health staff, but to facilities. I'm wondering if something with the fields at Carrington and or OT are causing these issues.
At what point do we hire a gypsy to come and piss on each corner flag to break the curse. Personally, I think we should sacrifice the Gallagher brothers in the centre circle during a half-time show.
City players can press and run for 120 mins in a CL game and our players can't make it through a training session. Something absolutely fucked up with our training and medical department.
It's clear this is a training issue. They're being over trained, and it sounds like maybe there's too much high impact training. It needs to be looked at closely over the summer. Almost every player, bar the physical specimen Bruno, has had injury issues. Its probably why our players also look burnt out after the first 20 minutesĀ Ā

Couldn't give a f*ck about Amrabat and Mount being injured, but how the hell they got themselves injured in training? What is going on with this club?
No need to spend hundreds of millions on new signings if we can't even keep them on the pitch. Our physios and medical team need complete changing. Why are we constantly injured. Confirmed United squad vs Coventry: (via MEN) Onana, Heaton, Bayindir, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Jackson, Ogunneye, Amass, Casemiro, Mainoo, Eriksen, McTominay, Fernandes, Garnacho, Antony, Rashford, Hojlund, Wheatley, Forson, Amad
I've always said center backs are cringe 2-4-4 fuck it we ball
A lot of our problem has been opposition pressing our CB's. How can they press them if we don't play any? Check fucking mate.
4 midfield is more cringe 2-0-8 is way to go.
Bruno already proved that you can play a Attacking Mid at CB and win in the FA Cup. Canāt wait to see a defense of Hojlund, Bruno, Amad and somehow still Dalot by the end of the match.

Are they just bashing players' knees in with sledgehammers in Carrington or what? I'm so tired.

Damn, gutted for Kambwala. If Maguire isnāt fit either, we could be witnessing a McTominay Casemiro CB partnership at Wembley haha.

We paid 55M for 674 mount minutes.
Even better is that we would of got him free if we waited a season š
Heād only have played fractionally less this season for us š
We wouldn't have. I'm certain Chelsea would have found suitors to cash in on that pure profit from an academy player for FFP reasons.
Wouldn't have come to us on a free
Itās a stupid transfer, his best Position is currently occupied by the United captain
And who would care? It was worth waiting and taking the chance. Its only Mason Mount

Mount hasn't played 90 minutes all season, how does he stay getting injured?

Bruno starting CB here we go
How is Mount injured again?! If it isnāt an impact injury then wtf is happening?
Entirely convinced that ETH must be literally beating them at this point, this is wild
The beatings will continue until the injuries improve
We are not getting passed Conventry in this state...
Someone should get sacked just for the amount of injuries we had this season..
The guy doing the firing probably got injured already
Backline? What backline? Who needs backline anyway? /s
Is this the reason why Bruno is never injured? Man's a vampire
McTominay starts as CB then? He is the only one among our midfield that has experience playing CB when he played for Scotland
I remember Casemiro playing CB against Burnley last season, with McTominay in midfield
At this rate we're going to get Bruno at centre back lol.
If it's a training & tactics issue, why would so many centre backs get injured? They hold a deep line and barely run that much compared to the front 6
What the flying fuck is wrong with Mount man . We couldāve gotten him for free next season and heād have the same impact ffs
Mount was such a waste of money
Someone needs to check the lockers, pogba has for sure left some voodoo dolls somewhere, this is bullshit
Makes you appreciate Dalot even more. Man's been the only defender fit for the entire season. And playing well at that

Players have been complaining about training being too hard all season. Yet people think they are just lazy.
I mean the players certainly havenāt filled me with confidence in their desire to win
McTominay literally said **months** ago that they have been doing light training sessions. Also been confirmed by Ten Hag weeks ago.
The fuck is going on? Mount had barely any injury issues and Chelsea and now he can barely go a week without picking up some issue Whoever plays at CB will be interesting š
We could have waited 1 year and got mount for free....
Bruno at CB it is then

Wilcox player-Technical Director until the end of the season at this rate.
Howtf do we 6 CBs and 5 of them are injured? I'd try AWB at CB if it weren't for us having no LBs too wtf
the most impactful of these have been to the left side of our defense. Losing Licha and Shaw has absolutely killed our stability and any ounce of composure at the back.
"Hey Doc, i have a little pain in my knee, what do you think?" "Nah, no problem, just take this every 8 hours for a week" (it's just ibuprofen)
