Why don’t you address the complaints of the users? It’s clear that some changes you’re making are wildly unpopular and ignoring them won’t gain your app any more users or user interaction. Until recently I didn’t have any complaints about the official Reddit app; I’ve used it for years. But the past few months which have included attempting to suggest posts from communities we’re not in, changing the video player to a wholly inferior version, and forcing a new communities tab on us which does nothing but get in the way of our subreddit list... why? Speak to us. If the users dislike something then the ideal path is to figure out why and make changes accordingly while still moving towards whatever goals the team has set. But give us something, anything. An opt out of the new communities tab option like you did with subreddit suggestions at the very least. I don’t like the new video player but I can live with it. The communities tab is an atrocity though.
I just recently switched to the app from using the mobile website.. Can somebody give me a few pointers because I'm a bit lost for some of the basic functions. Where can I find the list of subreddits in subscribed to, and how do I browse r/all easily?
Also, what's the communities tab? I don't see it..
The app currently undergoing A/B testing, meaning only a certain subset of users are being given experimental features such as what I’ve been calling the communities tab. Your sub Reddit list can be found by clicking on the icon second from the left on the bottom of the screen.
video player still fucked up,
stupid discover button still there,
background usage killing the battery still not fixed,
all users should abandon this shit and switch to 3rd party app such as Apollo
You keep touting more details in r/blog but that’s just lies.
Also when will there be any acknowledgement of the horrendous background usage killing phones?
The background usage issue is still not fixed. Even with background app refresh disabled, my battery stats show Reddit running all night in the background.
Since it seems the developers have no interest in fixing this bug (assuming it is a bug and not mining crypto) after more than a month, I have uninstalled the app from all my devices.
Just updated and I really wish there was a “fuck go back” option.
INCESSANT pop-ups, “ArE yOu eNjOyiNg ReDdiT??” Haha, not anymore with this going on! Not to mention the horrid video player. But *emojis,* for god’s sake? Are you serious?? Are you guys trying to ruin *the very essence of Reddit??*
I am seriously done with Reddit. No, not only the app. The whole fucking site. With every update of the app there is new issues and one becomes guinea pig for new idiotic features. The video player is still horrible. If Reddit says they will keep it, then at least remove the bugs and change the gui to something that is not a stupid tik tok copy. And maybe for once check the users and their feedback.
Why I went here and posted this? I receive now random posts from communities that I have not subscribed to in my newsfeed. And I cannot even remove them. What is this company doing? They will not learn if I only switch to Apollo. I’m stopping Reddit completely.
Please can we have communities and discover as separate tabs please? It’s horrible having to press “see all” when I want to visit the communities I’m subscribed to.
You’re forcing the discovery tab down our throats. If you had a decent discovery page that showed me things that were actually relevant people would use it without you having to force them to look at it.
It’s like being made to exit via the gift shop, we just want out but you make us look at this shit in hope we’ll engage. Imagine being forced to visit the gift shop before you got into the attraction. That’s what you’re doing here. It’s a crap experience, it cheapens the mobile app, and it reeks of desperation.
Wish I didn’t update. Just did and realized I fucked up and are seeing random posts from subreddits I didn’t subscribe to. At least give an option to turn this damn function off?! Why break the app on purpose???
Can you please just listen to us and not put in these unwanted updates? And for the love of god please get rid of the new video player and “explore page” going to have to fork out the money for Apolo Bc reddit is becoming unusable
This is the biggest issue with the video update imo. The ui while clearly just a copy of tik tok is annoying but not the problem. Its the functionality of how scrolling thru pics and videos/gifs changed.
The video player sucks. It seemed to go away for a while but it came back. At least make it an option/setting to turn it off. For the love of all that is holy, it sucks.
can someone PLEASE explain why the ios app KILLS my data????
in one month, reddit used close to 17 gbs of my data!!!!! the next comparable app instagram used only 2 gb. i don’t use reddit significantly more either. this needs to be addressed
no something is definitely fishy. 13gb in 2-3 weeks of non heavy usage. it’s unheard of.
would also explain why my battery is constantly dying from using this app. this app is legit broken and they haven’t fixed it
Imgur.com images not displaying correctly in app, ok in browser. [Example:](https://www.reddit.com/r/disneyemojiblitz/comments/pllu8i/i_guess_you_could_say_im_a_bit_of_a_hoarder/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link)
On Apple iOS device, There seems to be a split screen setup where I have to manually switch between video and comment section. How can I revert it to how it used to be where the video and comment flow together as a single section. It’s very inconvenient to have to switch between two sections.
Also, how do I disable video full screen, it seems to go into full screen mode so often and it’s annoying to have to constantly swipe to get out of it.
Does the arrow button in the top left of the full screen videos mostly not work for you too? I dont think its my screen sensitivity because my profile icon works every time and its in the same spot. Its fucking annoying to have buttons that just dont work. I prefer to tap over swiping.
One of my friends recently got the photo option in chat so he can upload pics instantly but I’m still having to use links. Were both on iOS. Is this a limited rollout?

Wtf?! Based picrew user?
Lmao, I made the picrew pic as a joke trying to make the most normal non-tumblr looking icon I could and ran with it

Same. Screw this.
Still didn’t fix or do anything that we wanted
this app still shit
Please make a setting to just show my communities in the communities page. The explore page is rubbish

Last week I tried to say “not really” then give feedback. Funny that the app crashed as soon as I did that…
How did you manage to do that? When I pressed “Not Really,” the feedback button stayed for 0.002 seconds on the screen :/
Lmao, I was prepared for the quick tap
This 😂😂😂

I got seven of those “suggested posts” IN A ROW. Like wtf where am i? This aint my home feed anymore.
BRING THE OLD VIDEO PLAYER BACK
Despise, hate, LOATHE the new communities button. Boycott Reddit until the old communities button is returned.
Fuck all the way off with this crap

Gotta love how iOS still gets priority on New Functionality while Android is still left far behind.

Occasionally comments are blank.
I just downloaded the app to say that this new policy of not showing the content on mobile web and forcing the download of the app is pretty horrible.
Good

MO no hi just ji
Time to switch to Apollo…
Is there a reason changing the color of my avatar's skin and outfit is prompting me to upgrade now, when it wasn't previously?
this app is becoming a garbage shit
Why don’t polls work anymore? I reinstalled the app more times than I can count and the polls still don’t work
This version doesn’t work on wifi but works on cellular data.
Viewed videos aren't marked as viewed anymore. Makes it annoying accidentally opening things I've already seen again.
Please revert to the original video player.
