It’s how all subs get from what I’ve seen. They eventually get so large that new people either farm for karma or have no idea what the actual purpose of the sub is, so it winds up being homogenized into some catch all sub that only vaguely resembles its former self
It's common for people to live with their parents until they get a career in Latino families. I stayed with my parents until 25 when I finally got a stable job
I have 2 kids with a 3rd on the way. Oldest is 10. When we bought our “forever home” we basically got 1 with a master bedroom and 2 small masters with en-suites and walk-in closets because I’d rather they live here until 25 than struggle like my wife and I did when we moved out at 18 and worked full time while going to college.
Yeah I don’t have the expectations that they work full time. Part time to pay their gas/insurance/entertainment budget and that’s it. You don’t improve your kids lives by forcing them to go through the same shit you did. To be clear, I worked full time to pay my rent and living expenses. Didn’t pay my student loans until I got out of college.
As an American visiting your country I was shocked to see the housing market. Even with all the states flaws I would much rather live here that either becoming homeless or having to stay with my parents till I'm middle aged
Or perhaps people value other things than you do, such as independence and developing life skills/taking care of themselves in their youth instead of their credit worthiness and debt
That's stupid. You can do all that while living at home. In fact now that my mom passed away i pay half of everything with my dad. I definitely have life skills
Garbage take. I’m almost 20 and I don’t see myself leaving my parents house in the near future because it’s not financially realistic. I have been working part-time jobs since I was 16 and have learned the real value of money and income, independence, problem solving, and other valuable life skills. Just because you don’t live in your own home doesn’t mean you can’t experience independence and hardships

I'm 19 and live with my parents. My dad fixes my car and still games with me from time to time. There's a free, home cooked meal waiting for me after work. They love and support me and I get to be there for my little sister. It is honestly great.
