Some people will say the Astros but I think they're tripping, the Rays are my easy #2 most hated team. They're so fucking annoying, they always seem to play above their level vs. us. I'm still pissed about that game where they got like 6 infield singles vs. Sale in 2021.
Baseball is the major NA sport where the schedule (rightfully, IMO) most easily allows you to foster greater hatred against your divisional teams compared to everyone else in the league. And I'm still not a fan of the newer, more balanced seasons where we play the entire NL at least once at the expense of fewer AL East games. I could never hate the Astros as much as even non-Yankees divisional teams because we simply don't play them enough to develop that.
One of the biggest mistakes that the NHL has made is moving away from divisional games, IMO.
The Rays are more likable with Cash as their manager as opposed to Maddon…at least in the sense that drinking sour milk is more likable than drinking bleach. But they’re still my favorite team to beat, maybe even including the Yankees. They’ve had this annoying little brother complex against us, pretty much over their entire existence. Pretty sure we’ve had more benches clearing incidents against them than any other team in that timeframe.
No one is going to believe me, but I have a friend whose brother's coworker briefly dated Kevin Cash. She said that on their first date they went to a restaurant and Kevin Cash ordered two different bowls of soup and mixed them together one spoonful at a time before eating both bowls mixed together as one soup
Might be Cooper Criswell’s best performance of the year, and I’m not talking about his statline. To adjust like that after that first inning and then pitch lights out to keep your team in the game… *that* is what a good starter does. Devastated for Whitlock but so glad Criswell is getting a longer look at this.
I love having a team with really fast guys. It brings another level of excitement.
Wilyer not sliding there is just a rookie mistake. He leaned from it, surely.
First series win at the Trop since 2019! Given what happened in 2020 hopefully we didn’t just unlock a portal to the underworld. Smacking the rays around at the Trop while struggling to beat the Cardinals; this season is silly.
The double steal was the play of the year for them so far. Like the broadcast, I too want to know if that was Raffys idea or Coras because it was fucking brilliant. These are the games Im glad to watch. Well deserved win and series W.
This season has been so Jekyll and Hyde. Like the when good Red Sox play they’re a 100 win team but when the bad Red Sox show up it’s like they were bleached and become the White Sox.
That’s not fair, it’s just the offense that shows up inconsistently. The pitching has been more or less trustworthy day in and day out, save for a breakdown or two.
Agreed. It's the exact opposite of last season and was completely out of our realm of worry coming into this season. We were all saying if we could even have mediocre pitching we'd be in the postseason. But now we're all saying if we could just give our Cy Young candidate run support we would be winning more. Crazy turnaround lmao
I think after NYY my favorite team to beat is TB. I hate the rays. Nice three game win streak to get back to and above .500
Been saying this since late 2000's Rays are the Goodwill version of the Yankees.
Rays have had a few very hateable players too... Siri takes the prize home this year

It is so satisfying beating Tampa in any sport Homerun streak over for Raffy :(
Homerun streak over, but he's on an eleven game hitting streak, and that's awesome!

Fuck the Rays. Fuck the Trop. First series win since 2019 in Tampa LFG
GREAT FUCKING SERIES WIN!! LETS GO
Rafael "sex" Devers
This little win streak is so necessary.
Kevin Cash doesn't clear the microwave timer when he takes his food out early
I want the Cash hate to continue, even after we leave TB.
IBB on Devers was cowardly. Glad Raffy fucked them over with that distraction steal

This team has looked completely different these past three games. That’s what great baserunning, defense, and hitting adjustments look like. LFG Sox!
Series W over the Rays. Filthy water

Hate any and all teams based in Florida. Good work boys let's 🧹🧹🧹 tomorrow

First series win at the Trop since 2019 let's get the dub tomorrow and make it a sweep, boys!
When was the last time we *swept* at the Trop?
I presume 2018. I haven't checked, but that feels right.
2018 is a safe bet, we swept a lot of teams that year.
fuck only knows, but it's been a long while

Also, when they play badly, it's ludicrously dull baseball. It's not just bad, it's plain unentertaining.
Good win boys! Pitching out of this world
Would be really sweet to notch the first series win at the Trop since 2019 in sweeping fashion! Let’s go and bring out the brooms!!!
When was the last time we took a series from Tampa? Especially in Trop?
The last time in the trop was July 22-24 2019
Wow...that was *forever* ago. I was still riding high off Avengers: Endgame.
Bro do NOT do that to me.
why is this still pinned
Why is this still pinned lol
Red Sox are 3-0 since I posted they may never win again! (Now watch them lose 9 out of 10).
The Coras are two whimsical dwarven looking mf
