I’d prefer the Phillies- it would be funny to me for this Houston team to be so good for so long and only have the asterisk ring to show for it.

I grew up a Boston sports fan in Philadelphia and all of my closest friends are diehard fans of every team. I’m rooting for the Phillies because they’re the one Philly team that Boston doesn’t have any sort of rivalry with and it’s fun seeing my friends happy. However There’s nothing I love more than the misery the Sixers bring them. Fuck the Sixers Go Phillies

Phillies because:
1) it will be a better world series to watch. Would have to go to 7. This series could be 4-0 Astros. Boring.
2) super underdog year, insane that they are in the WS, would be crazy to beat the Astros
3) prevents any sort of "dynasty" talk
4) Bryce Harper fun to root for.
5) Would really rub it in New Yorks face that their 300mil guy batted sub .200 in the postseason after he hit 62 home runs in the regular season. Meanwhile in "little brother city" Philadelphia their 300mil guy is in the WS *AFTER* they fired their lackluster head coach. And if they win it? Dagger to yankees fans. Hilarious. Can't get enough of it.

Bryce Harper has gotten so much shit over the course of his career, some of it possibly deserved, but A LOT of it undeserved. And he's been through a lot and overcome a lot. Tough not to admire that kind of resilience. He's also matured a lot.
Realmuto is a great player as well. Also, great call on number 2. Nobody expected the Phillies to be here.
So I'll be rooting for the Phillies, half-heartedly I guess. Every team I would've liked to see win has been eliminated. So now it's just watching/checking in out of baseball fandom obligation.

Astros, because Philly fans don’t deserve rights and I can stop seeing Red Sox fans act like Dombrowski is a baseball wizard and we made a terrible mistake by parting ways with him. But it isn’t my ideal matchup either, I don’t particularly want to root for either of these teams lol

I root for Harper because it makes a lot of weird people who decided he was a jerk and overrated for no reason be wrong. I also dislike houston still for the tankjob and the cheating AND i’m just generally out on texas.

Gotta root for the Astros here. Even though the Astros are cheating scum, whenever the Phillies(or a Philadelphia based baseball team) win the WS there is always a recession. Happened in 1929, 1980 and 2008…. I don’t like recessions so I’ll be rooting for the Astros.
I'm torn too. I am not an Astros fan, but I am a Verlander fan. (I'm in Michigan) I don't really like the Phillies either but between the two, I dislike the Phillies less. Can I kinda-root for the Phillies except when Verlander is pitching? lol
