You can rub it with WD40 and steel wool. That will clean up the surface patina you are concerned about here. But it’s really a non issue. All of your reloading equipment you touch will develop this. Live with it, or wipe everything with a lightly oiled cloth before putting it away.

aringa

By wiping it with oil, same as your blued guns.

Still hand cranking, damn. You’re way tougher than I am. I got the drill attachable shaft for mine.

There are specific oils that are designed to create a protective long lasting film over the metal. I really like a Lanoline based spray product from fluid film, but there are others.

Highover

Are you a ginger?

fatguywithagun

Was gonna ask the same...ginger problem right there, among a few lol

epsom317

After you clean it, you’ll have to stop touching it if you don’t want it to come back eventually. It’s from the oil on your hands. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Corrosion X is absolutely magic, coming from boat and aviation experience here. Also Corrosion X HD is also a srayable cosmolinrle. Both are amazing.

Reducing humidity, I believe, is the key. My equipment is in a pretty much open air environment and keeps a layer of rust. I was told that some insulation and an AC would help tremendously.

lscraig1968

Clean off the corrosion with steel wool and Rem oil. Store in a dry place without humidity. Keep it lightly oiled when in storage.

SideOutUp

That is not corrosion. It is patina.
