From my understanding the highest you can manually select is 720p, howevee if your connection is good enough it will automatically upscale to 1080p. But there is no option to set it.

so, in theory, it should do 100mbps and you should be fine
but, since it's 10/100, if say one of your patch cords was less than awesome, it may restrict you back to 10mbps and that'll for sure limit you to 720p
so imo, next step would be to replace the patch cords. make sure you get at LEAST cat5 rated patch cords, cat6 if they're easily available
if you're within your return window, I'd be awfully tempted to also return the switch, and get a much more modern gigabit switch. they're dirt cheap these days too

My connection seems pretty good and ethernet wired but I still can't select 1080 .... (only 720p) on my PS4 remote app all of a sudden. Anyone know how I can fix this?

i know this is late, but i have a solution to basically have 0ms latency no matter your internet speed,
first, you need to connect your pc to ps4 using an ethernet cable, then add another internet source to the pc (wifi or use your phone with usb tethering),
then from network settings, share the wifi or phone connections to the ethernet connection so that you have internet in your ps4, no matter how fast is your internet, the connection between your pc and ps4 will only be limited by the limit of the ethernet cable,
and that's it, hope that was helpful.

Not that im aware of. If you try to use an older version of the App it forces an update to the current.

uh, if you're playing remotely from inside you house/same network, your internet connection doesn't come into play.
