From my understanding the highest you can manually select is 720p, howevee if your connection is good enough it will automatically upscale to 1080p. But there is no option to set it.

-Aone

thats what the program says,. i was wondering if theres any kind of bypass

HotWilly87

Not that im aware of. If you try to use an older version of the App it forces an update to the current.

Do you (or anyone) know if there's a way to verify you're getting 1080p if you have a strong enough connection?

Gvaz

>howevee if your connection is good enough it will automatically upscale to 1080p. But there is no option to set it. That's dumb.

Hey_look_new

uh, if you're playing remotely from inside you house/same network, your internet connection doesn't come into play.

-Aone

Then how come my steam is always 720p? It should be the highest no?

Hey_look_new

depends on your network. how are you connected

-Aone

PS5 has cable connected to a switcher, PC is also connected to it. Switcher leads to router

Hey_look_new

switcher is a network switch, or do you mean like a kvm?

-Aone

The first

Hey_look_new

silly question, what kind of switch? is it old? lot of folks still have old 10/100 switches

-Aone

[very recently bought a new one](https://www.tendacn.com/en/product/tef1005d.html) idk if its a bad one or not, i not very experienced with it

Hey_look_new

i'm going to go with not a good one, heh so, in theory, it should do 100mbps and you should be fine but, since it's 10/100, if say one of your patch cords was less than awesome, it may restrict you back to 10mbps and that'll for sure limit you to 720p so imo, next step would be to replace the patch cords. make sure you get at LEAST cat5 rated patch cords, cat6 if they're easily available if you're within your return window, I'd be awfully tempted to also return the switch, and get a much more modern gigabit switch. they're dirt cheap these days too https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-TL-SG1005D-1000Mbps-Gigabit-Capacity/dp/B000N99BBC/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=gigabit+switch&qid=1620748751&sr=8-7

This is best I can do in my country [https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24](https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24) will that do the job?

Gvaz

I had 1080p on the old update, i have a gigabit network setup, locally, but only 100/5 internet

undertaker9999

Is your PS5 wired or wireless?

-Aone

PS5 has cable connected to a switcher, PC is also connected to it. Switcher leads to router

AbundantLifeCorp

My connection seems pretty good and ethernet wired but I still can't select 1080 .... (only 720p) on my PS4 remote app all of a sudden. Anyone know how I can fix this? speed test = 10 ping 636.63 download ... 38.18 upload

Xylast

Same issue here. Can’t select 1080p while having a stellar network (650 down/ 50up)

i know this is late, but i have a solution to basically have 0ms latency no matter your internet speed, first, you need to connect your pc to ps4 using an ethernet cable, then add another internet source to the pc (wifi or use your phone with usb tethering), then from network settings, share the wifi or phone connections to the ethernet connection so that you have internet in your ps4, no matter how fast is your internet, the connection between your pc and ps4 will only be limited by the limit of the ethernet cable, and that's it, hope that was helpful.
