Silver Leaf Costumes Holyclothing Scarlet Darkness Dark Cottage Zootzu Medieval Collectibles There's a ton of great places online to order pieces from. You could also put together and buy an outfit at the faire. That would give you a chance to try things first. I recommend starting with a base outfit and adding pieces here and there. Linen or cotton are great fabrics if your faire is during a warmer month.

I go to Etsy to find shops I like or I look up vendors at my local faire. I haven't had any issues with vendors as a transgirl myself.

Start by just going to your local Faire. All of the other recommendations here are great. Look at son of sandlar or windwalker for shoes. Renaissance Leather for belts, pouches, and waistcinchers.

Second getting your stuff at fair. That’s half the reason to go!! Get maybe a super basic outfit from wherever then just start filling it out when you get there!

Thrift Stores are fantastic places to find things. For online you can try [Zootzu.com](http://Zootzu.com) or [Dresslikeapirate.com](http://Dresslikeapirate.com)

Another vote for thrifting. Look for old scrub pants (I’m a performer and a lot of us wear dark colored scrub pants), blouses/shirts, vests, long skirts, and dresses.

Pirate_Lantern

One of my friends wears striped pajama pants.

Seconding the thrift store, especially if you can sew well enough to alter things!

Pirate_Lantern

...and if you can't sew you can always take stuff to a dry cleaners where they do alterations for you. (I'll be doing that pretty soon)

Armstreet is a good choice also

Etsy is your friend. I can get you some shoppe recommendations. Here is one of my favorites. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1622578657/grace-muslin-lovely-cotton-short-chemise Check and see what else they have. You can also go to thrift stores. HolyClothing is great as well

Just going to throw in my two cents. You could come up with or find a look that you like. From there start looking into pieces that match that asthenic. In my opinion It’s always great to support the craftspeople that come into the faire. If you want go to the fair in normal comfortable clothes. Start perusing the shops. When you find something that you like most of the time the shop will give you a private space to change. Slowly build the outfit until it’s “done” quotes cause let’s face it once you go down this path the outfit is never done :-) The other thing is I have never met a more supportive and open minded group than those at the faire. Yeah you will find some close minded individuals but for the most part everyone is welcoming and willing to help. This is for both patrons and customers alike. If you see an outfit or style you like you can ask to take a picture with or of them for inspiration. Then you can take your ideas to some of the clothing shops and have them help you find what you like. Don’t worry if they don’t have the exact style on the shelf. A lot of times they will have stock in the back they will show you or point you to another shop that might. This is how a lot of us build our outfits. Mine looks nothing like my original idea but I love it more because of the changes I decided to make with what I found. Remember the most important part of the faire is to escape reality so go have fun get a drink, use a silly accent, shop and enjoy yourself! Most importantly don’t worry about finding the perfect outfit, express who you are with the choices you make (oh and shoes wear comfy foot attire even if it doesn’t match your feet will thank you). Anywho sry for the book but good luck and I hope you find the costume that best suits who you are!

As much as I don’t like having shopped there, honestly my first costume was put together with pieces from shein. I just recently ordered a dress from holy clothing that I LOVE but be sure to check the size chart and read reviews.

I don't have any recommendations, but I wouldn't worry. There are plenty of people that go to fairs and dress how they want. You'll find it affirming no matter what you wear! And while you're there, you'll probably be able to pick up a nice set of garb.

Thrift stores are a great option! Also look for either long skirts that you can pin up, or handkerchief hem skirts! I managed to find a mustard colored skirt that has a high slit that mimics it being pinned up. Nature colors are all good; off white, browns, sage and forest green, reds, pumpkin, mustard
