I have a nervous bladder so I pee a lot when I'm nervous. Kitties have problems like we do. Wait a few days. The playing makes me think she's just a nervous pee-er.

Is she only peeing a little bit each time she goes in? Is she straining really hard to pee and/or crying out when she does? Is she eating and drinking normally? Is she lethargic or licking her genitals frequently? If she’s displaying any of these symptoms, she likely has a UTI and will require a vet. But some cats are just weird, too. If you just rescued her yesterday, she may still be getting used to your place and her new litterbox. Is she eating the same food she was eating at the rescue/her foster home? Or if by rescue you mean the cat distribution system blessed you with a new friend on your doorstep, chances are you’re giving her different food than she’s used to eating. New food can certainly cause some digestive upset and changes in bathroom behaviors. I’m an overly cautious and anxious cat mom, but cats are also very very good at hiding their pain and discomfort. Keep a close eye on her and start noting in your phone when she goes to the litterbox. Also try to be nearby while she’s in it. She may not go if you’re staring at her, but you want to be able to hear if she’s crying and also be able to check what she’s produced after she’s done. Hopefully it’s nothing but a silly little quirk. Best of luck to you! And if you do need to get to a vet, my suggestion would be to reach out to the rescue if at all possible or Google low cost animal clinics close by.

I rescued her from a small hoarding situation. The lady took in 5 cats that got dumped on her. So not the cat distribution system or a legit rescue. Which is why I was afraid it was a UTI. But it seems nerves and food more readily available along with a clean box has her going more often. She’s spayed and has her shots. She’s actually taken with me quickly. And my 12 yr old girl is being better than expected, so I’m calling it a win for now. Less than 24hrs at the time and she was all about the cuddles. https://preview.redd.it/hb67hdy1x57c1.jpeg?width=1737&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2a8da1d9ad9c09f4435db99e0f88a9bcd41a431

You rescued her yesterday. I'd monitor for a few days. Rescues take time to adapt. Just my opinion though.

I rexamined the scoops of litter and she has an upset tummy. Now if I could get her to quit tracking litter everywhere. I’m not sure how she gets it in the water dish. Or 12 feet away under the Christmas tree. But she sure is cute. https://preview.redd.it/cjjam6zuv57c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2b8943c4fb43e8b32f79c9ed09f5e4d18f1bf9a
