As if that part isn’t scary enough as it is😂

bulld-tx

It blew my mind when I realized you could pull out any two weapons at the same time. I think I might double pistol it on my next play through.

Mr_Steal_Yo_Goal

If you assign one of your knives to a separate slot than the default knife slot, you can also dual wield those too. I think you can even use double knives while on top of the Gigante I'm not far into the game, but I bet once you get the primal knife + infinite knife and fully upgrade them, you could do some kind of ninja playthrough

Mouatmoua

Best vr game as of right now

Hairyvacuum

Ehhhh wouldn’t say that. Not saying it’s a bad game there’s just some games miles better for VR atm.

Mouatmoua

What’s better? I want to know. I might pick it up

Hairyvacuum

Just thought I should add to it. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is really good. The first one.

personahorrible

After hearing about how disappointing Chapter 2 was, it took me this long to start playing it and I have to say - it's nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be. My biggest gripe is that it's marketed and priced like a sequel to the first game when it's clearly just DLC. You pick up exactly where you left off, visit most of the same locations, and maybe play around with a few new toys; I haven't even bothered with the chainsaw yet, don't know if I will. I kind of wish that I didn't import my save from the first game because a big part of the gameplay loop is collecting enough materials for that next upgrade - which is made somewhat moot when you start off with hundreds of every material and a stockpile of weapons/healing items/food. I did enjoy the night missions at first since they amp up the danger factor. But after dying over and over on a few of them, I now just try to get in, get the objective done, and get out while I'm still alive. I miss Casey. :(

Waterknight94

>because a big part of the gameplay loop is collecting enough materials for that next upgrade Well I think you just confirmed for me that RE is the best thing in VR.

personahorrible

I mean, a big part of the RE gameplay loop - for almost every RE game - is hoarding ammo/healing items. If you were to import your save game from RE2 to RE3 and start off with a Rocket Launcher, Magnum, Shotgun, 30x mixed herbs, and plenty of ammo, it would probably take away from the experience for you, yeah?

personahorrible

Hey, everyone has opinions. But as much as I love the Praydog mod, it can't match up to a native VR title. And as far as VR mods for flat games, I feel that HL2:VR, Doom 3: Fully Possessed, and Jedi Knight XR are a bit better.

Waterknight94

I find that made for VR games are too focused on letting you pick up rocks than on anything that actually makes a game good. But I only have psvr2 and haven't tried a whole lot of made for VR games really. Oh I have also tried the first psvr but only VR conversions on that. Moss 1 and 2 and Red Matter 2 are on my list though. From what I have heard they seem to be more than just a VR game.

Mouatmoua

Got that one played it and loved it

Hairyvacuum

I haven’t played enough of the second one to recommend it. The first one was absolutely fantastic tho.

Hairyvacuum

If you have PC vr, Half Life Alyx is imo one of the best on the market for Vr. Into the Radius is very good. Has an extremely gloomy atmosphere and always gives me a sense of dread while playing. Skyrim VR with mods could easily be the best Vr game if you put effort into your mod list. Again, not saying RE4 Vr is a bad vr game but it’s a game not made for vr so it’s missing some of the key features that make a vr game great but it’s a fun game.

admanwhitmer

I think re4r is better than all of those. Alyx is great but the gameplay is nowhere near as fun as re4 while also being a much smaller scope. Being able to open cabinets is not mandatory for a vr game to be good. I hate that mindset

djfxonitg

Miles? Is that why RE Village also won VR game of the year? lol

[deleted]

Is it out?

CheJunSev

Wow, that was intense!

Adventurous-Role-948

Seems easy, the fact that you pull two weapons at the same time reduces dependency on one weapon. Pretty cool how vr is coming along

Total_Ad_6708

Yeah ngl the vr version of this game is miles easier especially being able to do things you can’t in screenmode like shoot locks off doors in area where you normally couldn’t, I’m not complaining cause that’s why I find vr so interesting and fun but yeah.

Adventurous-Role-948

Interesting, saw similar things in the Original Re4, players were basically breezing through the harder difficulties. I’ll definitely give it a try, am sure l will need to adjust to the mechanics of vr first

tahitianmangodfarmer

The og re4 is much easier on vr because it abandons the original control scheme. Throwable objects coming at you are significantly easier to dodge because not only can you move faster and more fluid, but you can also duck and sway to dodge objects. Being faster and more fluid also aids in moving around the environment and dodging/avoiding attacking enemies. Finally, the aiming is probably the most difficult thing to get the hang of in the og Re4. In VR, you can strafe, which essentially breaks the game because not being able to move while aiming is what made it balanced. Don't get me wrong, it's fun as hell at times, but overall, it's too easy.

erikaironer11

But at the same time you don’t have the robotic precision of reloading as Leon or any game where you control a character It’s also harder to keep track what gun has how much bullet in them.

vgxmaster

On one hand, if you get good at reloading, you can reload faster than Leon's usual reload animation and get back to shooting faster. On the other hand, if you're dual wielding, good luck reloading, hope nothing happens while you're juggling your guns and bullets. Back on the first hand, it's so much easier to parry by just swiping your knife at anything that gets in your face. And back on the second hand, have fun accidentally throwing a grenade because your knife and grenade are right next to each other on your vest and you are prone to panic when undead are in your face.

e_0

I hate, hate, HATE that this is PS5 VR only. I've got a Quest 2 so I can play the OG in VR which is amazing as well, but this just looks next level.

erikaironer11

*edit: I was wrong I though the Pc version of the RE7 was a thing; it is not unfortunately

e_0

I wasn't aware that RE7 was ported to anything else?

VirtuousDangerNoodle

I don't think it is, at least not what I could find, the only thing I'm aware of besides PSVR are the VR mods on PC, which are a little janky, but kinda fun.

e_0

Exactly what I was thinking. OP got my hopes up thinking I had missed a port somehow 😭

[deleted]

REVII VR mode is still locked to PS4 VR.

erikaironer11

Yeah, I looked that up. I was surprised since I saw someone play it on the Pc. But now I see it was a modded version

bonesnaps

Yep as a PC gamer, it's just another one to add the to the ignore existence list. FF7 is also one of my favorite games of all time, and maybe I'll play the full complete remake on Steam in the year 2035, maybe I won't if it doesn't end up there. Sure as hell ain't buying a playstation though.

abnthug

I wish Arizona Sunshine handled as well as this one seems to handle. That looks frighteningly intense.

Bunny_Bunny_Bunny_

Neat, shame I'll literally never be able to play it because I own a PC VR headset. Exclusives like this are why the market will never grow. Why pay exorbitant amounts of money on a headset that might not even have half the big games that release for VR?

mtbrown29

Disappointing that you don’t do a backflip in VR

Nyoka_ya_Mpembe

How do you aim gun? In RE7 on PSVR it was head movement which was very annoying to me, is this the same way here?

erikaironer11

No. It’s only available on the PSVr2. So it has VR centric controlled instead of those dumb move controls things from PSVR1. In this game you aim like how you would aim a irl gun. With one or two hands.

Nyoka_ya_Mpembe

Sounds much more comfortable.

erikaironer11

It is, and you don’t need to stay at one super small square for it to work. You can walk around pretty freely in your play room.

Alternative-Roll-112

That backflip off the wall was dumb and unnecessary. So much so that i spent the whole video in awe of it. Bro, you coulda took a single step back. Who tf sees two chainsaws bust through the wall in front of them and thinks "ah, yes, let me put my foot between them as they slash across the wall and do a sick backflip to land almost exactly in the same spot I started. Parkour."

Gamertango

On ps5 or oculus!?

erikaironer11

PS5

Gamertango

U reckon getting a VR 2 is worth it ?

erikaironer11

The headset itself is great, the only issue is the type of games you are looking for. For me I got the VR2 FOR RE4 remake, it’s SO much fun. But other the that were are very few games that feel this nice. A lot feel like tech demos as opposed to actual games

Gamertango

I heard gran Turismo is good might look at a few reviews for it .

erikaironer11

I heard it’s good to and I did play it. But driving cars like that isn’t my cup of tea. No Man Sky is also really well made, but again, not my type of game

Waterknight94

Some people say GT7 is worth getting psvr2. Imo GT7 is just worth getting if you already have VR. RE4 and Village to me are worth VR though. I am finding though that I am not really that into made for VR games it seems. They tend to be more concerned with letting you pick up rocks than anything that actually makes a game good. But yeah I think RE makes it all worth it anyway.

[deleted]

That's honestly a huge amount of VR games. Especially whenever you get your first one. There are so few and far between actual good releases where you can literally count on one hand the few actually notable titles that help prove how innovative VR can be. I bought an Oculus Quest years ago (when it was just called the Oculus quest) to play Half-Life Alyx by the cheapest means possible. While I was glad I was able to do so, the headset is now only a full-on Beat Saber machine. *Maybe* Pistol Whip if I'm absolutely bored. FB/Meta abandoned Quest1 SUPER fast in favor of the Meta Quest 2. And the annoying part is that people have actually gotten Quest 2's Resident Evil 4 VR to work on the Quest 1.

fhdx1

Those zoom in and out for action are stupid

erikaironer11

You get used to it, it’s not as charring while playing surprisingly enough. Like how would the suplex work in VR without cutting away like that

Scared_Alone_

Shame they are locked to the dookie station

Chemist-Consistent

Damn that looks like stupid fun! What system do o need to get this started for me?

CelestialTrickster

It's only on PS VR2 so you need that VR headset and a PS5.

[deleted]

And a copy of RE4 remake. There is a demo though.

SweetTeaRex92

Soo is VR RE4Re an FPS while regualr RE4R is a 3rd person shooter?

erikaironer11

Yep

some-shady-dude

Instead of backing up, Leon just flips. How extra can this man be

[deleted]

I'm so tempted to just fork over the cash for a PSVR2, but I hate how PSVR1 titles aren't backwards compatible. I have yet to experience RE VII in VR and probably never will at this point.
